Happy 2nd Birthday to Hank x Cythera’s second litter - Sam, Mojo, Maggie, Archie, Sierra, Nixie, Morgan, Reis, CJ, Benny, Gustav and Pippa! My goodness, how time flies! Thankfully they were incredibly sweet because I’ll never forget how muddy those little darlings would get - we had sooo much rain once they were old enough to go outside. We finally gave up on trying to wipe 48 little paws every time and decided it was easier just to mop the floors. After all, they were pretty good about coming inside and going straight into their pen. Ha! I’m fortunate to get to see several of them from time to time and am extremely grateful for all of their wonderful families.

Please read this article! Foxtails are incredibly dangerous for dogs and can be especially scary for those PWDs with longer coats. Not only can they be inhaled and/or get into an ear canal (or other orifices), foxtails can quickly burrow into a coat and disappear. If not found and removed, they can even burrow into the skin and enter the body that way. It’s important to familiarize yourself with what these plants look like and what to do if a foxtail breaks off and gets into your dog.

Hank x Cythera’s (second) litter enjoying the slowly drying out, very muddy yard. These puppies have been playing in the mud for nearly two weeks now, having a blast while doing it. The yard, as well as the house, may never be the same!

When they’d really rather be outside on a rainy day.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING from our wild little bunch (who just woke up having slept most of the day). Five weeks is such a fun age!

It’s been a busy week. The pups are up on their feet and doing their best not to look like a bunch of drunken sailors. As you can see, they’re learning to use their potty pads and they are getting pretty good about leaving their sleeping area to relieve themselves. Momma, Cythera, is needing more “me time”, so the puppy cleanup is more and more falling on our shoulders. We’re beginning to feel the weight of what 12 puppies will be like - and this week they’ll be starting on solid foods. Oh, joy! We’ve also increased the size of the puppy pen outside of just the whelping area. Let the fun begin!

Their eyes are beginning to open! While they’re still nearly always sleeping - except when they’re eating and even then they’re often doing both at the same time - you can occasionally see their eyes are  starting to open. 🥰🏴‍☠️

Already a week old, these sweet little pups are getting bigger every day. Here they are sporting their new paracord collars while doing what they do best … eating! ❤️🏴‍☠️
