By day, I work as an accountant for a non-profit but in the evenings and on weekends, I’m all about the dogs. Shortley after moving to Florida in 2018, I decided to volunteer at Pasco County Animal Services as a dog walker. I fell in love with those dogs at the shelter.
I realized how important it was to have the dogs get out of the shelter for daily walks. Soon, I oversaw "pack walks". Volunteers would meet on a Saturday morning, and we would take the dogs to a county park that was pre-arranged by the shelter. The dogs really loved their walks at the parks. It was great for them to get out of the shelter and just be a dog.
Several years later I decided to volunteer at The Humane Society of Pasco County as a dog walker. I would clean kennels, feed, socialize and walk the dogs at the shelter. Along with dog walking, I took on the responsibility of Volunteer Coordinator and overseeing adoption events. Also, while volunteering at the Humane Society of Pasco County, I have fostered a number of dogs in my home during hurricanes.
Many dogs cannot handle the stress of being in a shelter and walks really help. The same is true for dogs that are stuck at home for long periods of time. I’m sure you have figured out by now, that I am an animal lover. Having walked dogs of all breeds, sizes and personalities, I've been fortunate to be a small part of their lives.
So, I've decided to take the plunge and start this small, local dog walking business. A passion project... for the dogs, and me!
