Attention Pet Owners...just a friendly reminder....
Pets can be at risk of frostbite, hypothermia, and other injuries in the snow.
Here are some tips to keep your pet safe in the snow:
Keep them inside:
Pets should be kept inside during cold weather, especially if it's below freezing.
Provide a warm place to sleep: Make sure your pet has a cozy bed with a blanket or pillow, and keep it off the floor and away from drafts.
Use a leash: Don't let your dog off the leash on snow or ice, especially during a snowstorm.
Check for ice balls: Check your pet's paws for ice balls, and wipe them off with a damp towel.
Watch for signs of hypothermia and frostbite: Know the signs of these conditions so you can take action quickly.
Avoid de-icing products: Most commercial de-icing products contain chemicals that can irritate your pet's paws.
Check under your car: Before starting your car, check under the hood and around the wheel wells to make sure no pets are hiding.
Limit play time: Short play sessions are safer, especially for young or elderly pets.
Avoid frozen bodies of water: Don't let your dog run out on frozen ponds.
Stay safe!!
