Hey y'all!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! (Even though it feels like we're still stuck in 2019 🤣 )

Sorry for not being able to respond to everyone in a timely manner - the last few months we've been dealing with some family issues but all is good now!

We are anticipating Kota to come into heat soon - yay!! I know many families have been anxiously awaiting a furry family member from her litter. As many know, this will be a repeat AI (Artificial Insemination) breeding of her and Maverick.

Just for Fun: Anyone want to guess how much it costs just for SHIPPING frozen semen? Hint - it must be overnighted (Cue Jeopardy music!)

It's hard to believe these little babies will be 4 months old already this month! I miss them all dearly, but am so blessed to have grown our Mountain Ridge Family! Such amazing people, and these puppies are living the dream with each and every family!

“For the past several months, I have been working on creating homemade dog treats, made with simple, real ingredients. After a lot of trail and error (and taste testing from Moose and all his friends), I narrowed it down to two favorite flavors. From there, those samples were boxed up and sent off to a lab for testing. I know how much our furry family members mean to all of us, so I wanted to make sure I did it right. Long story short, our treats are made according to AAFCO standards and we finally have the green light to launch! Our treats are made right here in Laramie! Our official launch date will be next Tuesday, April 27th. I am so excited to finally get to share these treats with all the amazing dogs in this community (and across the state).

Responsible, reputable breeders are so important

Do you know what the red box on the front of each cage is for? This red box can be filled with enough food/water to last 7 days. That means the puppy mill owner can stock those red boxes, walk away, and won't have to return for 7 days. Many owners even turn the lights off in those stinky barns so they can save on electricity. That's not much of a life, is it? Don't buy puppies online and don't buy from a pet store, because you are supporting puppy mills. Please share. Please tell at least one person per day about puppy mills and that adoption from a shelter or rescue group is the best option. Be The Voice! Speak Up.

Okay everyone it’s that time of year again - where nasty dyed or bleached rawhide treats made in China line the shelves!

I know they may look cute but please be aware of the issues.

We care about the foods we consume, so why shouldn’t we care about our furry family members? Make sure to always check to see where your treats are made. American made treats are typically a little more expensive but well worth the benefits and peace of mind.

A great alternative to rawhide treats are bully sticks, which are all natural and highly digestible. Again, make sure they’re made here in the USA! For all my fellow Costco members, they have bully sticks that you can purchase in bulk that are made here in America! ☺️

Our furry family members have such a short life span as it is. We should do everything we can to make it just that much longer and nutrition plays a tremendous part in health, just as it does for us.

Hey everyone!! It’s been a while since I’ve been on here and it’s been a strange and heart breaking year to say the least.

Oakley had her first litter back in September, which turned out to be a singleton as two puppies were stillborn (estimated by about 10 days due to their lack in development). Although the litter of 3 turned out to be a singleton litter, I am beyond blessed that mama Oakley came out of the emergency c-section just fine and that she has a beautiful and healthy chocolate boy to take care of. She took to him as soon as she came out of anesthesia.

My heart was broken for the lost babies and filled with worry for my girl Oakley. This was a first for me in all these years. A first with stillborns, a first with an emergency c-section, and a first with a litter of just one.

Our amazing veterinarian did a spectacular job and it is beyond us as to what went wrong. The possibilities are endless, but Oakley was and is in amazing health along with her chocolate boy whose family named him “Kona”.

These things happen, sometimes without us ever knowing the cause. But the heartbreak is nonetheless inevitable. I am beyond excited for the future litters and am thoroughly enjoying the spoiled little boy.

I just want to say thank you so much for all of the sympathy and heartfelt messages you guys sent during that time.

With that being said, everyone say hello to “Kona”! He was born September 25 and will be 6 weeks old tomorrow!

We brought Oakley in for her ultrasound today and it is confirmed and official - there are furry little babies in there! 🐾💕 The litter will be whelped next month!
