Due to the potential hazardous freeze and road conditions, as well as possible snow, Rio Grande Vet will be adjusting our business hours for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 21. We will be opening later than usual, from 12 PM to 5 PM.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Please bring your pets inside during these freezing temperatures! Pets can suffer from frostbite and hypothermia just like humans. Make sure they have a warm, sheltered place to stay.

Your safety and the safety of our staff are our top priorities. Please take care on the roads, and don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need to reschedule appointments.

We’ve got a freeze warning hitting our city tonight through tomorrow morning, and I couldn’t head home without making sure our four-legged friends are taken care of. Please, please bring your pets inside tonight. Our Laredo pets aren’t built for these cold temperatures - they’re used to our warm South Texas weather! If you absolutely can’t bring them indoors, make sure they have a warm, dry shelter with plenty of blankets and protection from the wind. Quick checklist for our pet parents: • Bring pets inside if possible • Provide warm, draft-free shelter if outdoor housing is unavoidable • Extra blankets or straw for bedding • If using a red lamp please make sure to keep at a safe distance away from your pet and from any fire-hazards • Check water bowls frequently (they can freeze!)
