Dear cat owners,

Most declawing veterinarians don't want you to see this post.
Why? Because they make easy and good money barbarically amputating your beloved cat's toe bones and claws like the ones in the photo. (Scalpel declaw)

The facts are that declawing is inhumane, cruel, and ALWAYS causes negative issues for your cat's long term health and well being.
There are credible and recent peer reviewed studies that prove this.

If you really love your cat and want what's best for them, please take the humane path and use the easy, humane alternatives to declawing like sturdy scratching posts, scratching pads, nail trims, deterrents like double sided tape and Feliway, Soft Paws, etc.

Below is the info that declawing vets do NOT want you to read. Also, a study showed that declawing causes chronic stress.
Remember, cats are masters at hiding their pain and suffering so they silently suffer for the rest of their lives from walking on those 10-18 amputation sites.

Here's everything you need to know about declawing. https://citythekitty.org/declawing-facts-vs-myths-humane-options/

If your vet declaws cats, please ask them to honor their veterinary oath and stop. If they won't then it's best you take your pets to ethical and humane vets who put the welfare of ALL animals over profits.
Send us an email if you go to or work at an AAHA Accredited Animal hospital that declaws cats. We will keep your info anonymous. [email protected]

Please go to citythekitty.org and sign all our petitions. No need to donate any money when you sign them since the money goes to change. org.

Did you know that if you have a pacemaker, you can include it in your Will to be donated to a dog in need after you pass away?
Although pacemakers cannot be used for another human, they can help dogs with heart problems and potentially save their lives. You can arrange for the pacemaker to be sent to a vet of your choice. Many pacemakers are simply thrown away, and dogs may die because people do not know about this option. Donating the pacemaker can even save the dog's owner the cost of a new one, which can sometimes make a crucial difference in affording life-saving treatment.
How to donate? Update your will: Leave instructions to have your pacemaker removed and sent to a veterinary clinic of your choice
Ask your doctor to save the pacemaker: When your pacemaker is being replaced or upgraded, ask your doctor to save it for donation
Contact your local vet: Confirm that they would be able to use the pacemaker.

Dexter was a 4-year-old bulldog mix found dead at Fort De Soto Park in May 2024. His owner had just adopted him from a shelter.

🖤 Ear-tipped adoptable alert! 🖤 Mikey looks like a perpetual flirt with his permanent wink... and he is! Mikey came to us from another shelter with an infected eye that had to be removed. This handsome 2-year-old is a confident, social guy who enjoys pets and playtime in equal parts. He is curious, too, and would love a window to look out in his new home!
Friends of Strays is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Reminder, adoptable cats are located at the Cat Box at 3015 46th Ave. N!

DID YOU KNOW? SAGO PALMS CAN BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR PET.

Found throughout Southwest Florida, the Sago Palm (also known as Cardboard Palms, Coontie Palms, Japanese Cycad and/or Zymias) is an attractive landscaping accent.

Unfortunately, all parts of the plant are toxic to both cats and dogs…especially the seeds. The palm contains Cycasin, a carcinogenic and neurotoxic glucoside, and their taste may attract your pet(s).

Ingestion of plant parts and/or seeds results in symptoms ranging from excessive drooling to diarrhea to vomiting. Other symptoms may include weakness, seizures and tremors. Severe liver failure often follows, as does death.

Sadly, even when treated aggressively by your veterinarian, the survival rate is only about 50%.

URGENT: WE COULDN’T RISK HER LOSING HER LIFE - meet Gummy.

She doesn’t understand why she was left behind. Why no one came. Why she was at risk of losing her life—simply because the shelter ran out of space. She has a collar, at some point she might have had someone who loved her and we don't understand too.

At just 3 years old, this gentle, 35-lb boxer has known nothing but uncertainty. Spayed and suffering from two cherry eyes, she was at risk of euthanasia through no fault of her own. We couldn’t let that happen—so today, we tagged her to save her life.

But now, she needs all of us!

She has nowhere to go. Without a foster or adopter, she is still in limbo, waiting for someone to give her the love she has always deserved so we are sending to medical boarding to save her life which comes at a cost so please please please share her post to help her find a new family.
