Currently, I am not doing the reptile part, I've decided to not do the reptile care again until I get moved. However, if there is an Iguana or Bearded Dragon that is in really bad shape and I know I might be their only hope to live, I will take them. I am however taking care of a colony of feral's who have all been spayed and neutered.
I was 14 years old and it was during Hurricane Fran that I decided I wanted to own a small rescue. I saved a 8 month old Siberian Husky named Apollo who was being chained up in a yard with no shelter. I asked my foster mother if I could please go get him, she told me yes so I went down to the person's house, knocked on their door and asked them to please let me have him, he did not deserve to be chained up with no shelter during the storm. To my surprise the person just gave him up. They gave me his papers and let me take him. When I walked into the yard where Apollo was chained his eyes lit up as if I was an angel. It was like he knew I had come to save him. There was no food or water bowls. Apollo was filthy and so emaciated his ribs were showing. When I took Apollo home it was then that I told my foster mother that I was going to own a small rescue and it would be called Rainbow Rescue.
