Today is a fantastic day as we've just published the first Savannah Cat Health and Temperament study! After nearly 30 years of this breed, we can really note and compare issues of Savannahs, aka a hybrid breed, with domestic cats!

Snuggle buggles. Boo managed to strip the padding out of the top of her cast so we had to restuff/repad that area but otherwise, she's doing good. Fingers crossed we get to week 2 with the cast still on as she's becoming less patient with the snuggling and chilling aspect of healing!

Sister time ❤️❤️ Boo is with us until she heals. Nutmeg heads up north this week and eventually Spirit will join one of our favorite catteries where our favorite boy we ever produced is!

Mostly good news!

Miss Nutmeg is moving up north to live with one of our amazing retired Savannah breeders I've known forever in this breed ❤️❤️❤️ she will be such a spoiled girl!

Miss Boo has to remain in a cast for the forseeable future. Her break is at an odd angle and my vet said pins don't really work in this situation. Good news-- Boo is so happy (she was purring so loud that it was hard to get a heart rate) and my vet believes her leg will heal just fine. Will it be perfect? Possibly not but she'll still use it and it won't need to be amputated ❤️❤️❤️

Zuko, F2 Savannah

This is another one of our very favorite very special babies... Zukes aka Zuko, beloved of Emily, living in Canada and still spoiled. While Maverick aka Forrest was born with twisty legs from being in utero with a large number of siblings, Zuko developed flat chested kitten syndrome as well as swimmers puppy after birth. There is no definitive reason why this occurs-- some believe it's lack of proper taurine in the diet, but that's never been proven. As Zuko was an F2, we managed his condition with massage, splinting and at home physical therapy.
