“𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐂𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆” 𝐀 𝐃𝐎𝐎𝐃𝐋𝐄 𝐏𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐘

I’m really not doing that but was hoping it would grab your attention 🤷🏻‍♂️

Did you know that e collars do 𝐍𝐎𝐓 magically teach your dog what you want/don’t want 🤯

I wish everyone knew that was 𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐌 but unfortunately that’s not the case.

This video is showing the 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 of several steps in 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐘 using the tool.

My goal is to find the lowest level he feels, nothing more and nothing less.

This should 𝐍𝐎𝐓 be painful or overly stressful.

Matcha’s reaction was no different than if a bug landed on him, perfect.

All the safely, earned 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐎𝐌 coming to Matcha asap, with the help of this tool 💪🏽

As always, if you need 𝐀𝐍𝐘 help with this process and you don’t feel 100% confident, ask me personally or find a trainer who can 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖 you their work.

‼️ 𝐍𝐄𝐖 𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐘𝐎𝐔 ‼️

Struggling getting your dog to 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐗 in public?

Here is something you probably haven’t tried.

➡️ 𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 ⬅️

This is simply reinforcing a behavior that your dog offers on their own.

If you choose to try this, you will need 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄.

Along with patience, it’s crucial to pick a controlled 𝐄𝐍𝐕𝐈𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓.

For example, if your dog gets over aroused by dogs, I probably wouldn’t try this right outside the dogpark.

I personally choose this method when trying to capture “down.”

And to confuse you even more, it’s not even about the “down” at all 🤔

⁉️How many anxious, over aroused, fearful dogs do you know that would 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐄 to lie down⁉️

𝐙𝐄𝐑𝐎

On the flip side, how many dogs do you know when 𝐏𝐔𝐓 in a “down” command are still anxious, over aroused, and fearful?

𝐓𝐎𝐍𝐒

Focus on your dogs mind and watch how the body follows 🤯

02/21/2025

⁉️How do 𝐘𝐎𝐔 socialize your dog⁉️

Let me help you clear up a few things that will make life with your dog much more 𝐄𝐍𝐉𝐎𝐘𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄.

What 𝐒𝐎𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐓𝐘 says socialization is:

❌ Saying hi to all people
❌ Going nose to nose w/every dog
❌ Dog doing whatever, whenever they choose

What 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐔𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 trainers say:

✅ Neutrality/Coexisting
✅ Confidence in variety of environments
✅ Advocating for your dogs space

Quite the 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐓, huh?

If you are a believer of the ❌’s and it works for you, I’m happy for you. But remeber, it’s not a matter of 𝐈𝐅 something bad will happen but 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍.

Consistently doing ❌’s will create an 𝐄𝐗𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 that your dog 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐒 to interact with everything.

Human analogy:

Your child gets candy at the check out aisle over and over again. This time you are in a hurry and you tell your kid no.

Your child proceeds to have 𝐌𝐄𝐋𝐓𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍 bc you have created an expectation that the checkout aisle = candy.

See how creating certain expectations/patterns for your dog might be cute at the beginning but will eventually backfire 🤔

Most people unknownly teach dog/person = excitement/over arousal

Good luck with that 😂

Creating the expectations is 𝐍𝐎𝐓 even the worst part…

Don’t even get me started on how these can potentially turn into 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘 or even 𝐀𝐆𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍🤔

Why do I talk about this so often?

Because it’s one of the most common issues dog owners face and it can be addressed with a 𝐒𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐋𝐄 mindset change.

Also, he wasn’t in a “down.” He was able to get up whenever he chose.

❤️ 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 ❤️

I hope you experience something like this throughout your week 🙏🏽

Maybe someone goes out of their way to give you a helping hand.

Maybe 𝐘𝐎𝐔 help someone 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐓 expecting something in return.

TBH, I 𝐑𝐀𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐘 help people with their dogs at the park.

Unfortunately, this stems from so many people being ungrateful or blowing me off over the years when trying to lend a hand.

But let’s stay 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 and talk about Denise and her dog, Max.

Max was playing Denise like a fiddle and don’t get me wrong, it was funny but not for Denise.

It was clear she wanted help, so I figured it should be be versus someone in the dog park 🤷🏻‍♂️

As I approached them, Max was up and ready to go in literally 1 second with some simple spatial pressure, not one word spoken 🤔

Denise thought I was a magician and then you saw a 𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐋 clip of our entire conversation.

Let me clarify, when she said I gave her tips/tricks, that’s 𝐍𝐎𝐓 what I do.

I made sure she understood training Max is more than tricks/tips. Instead, it’s about understanding 𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐒/𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐏𝐓𝐒 that will give them longterm success.

Guys, this is what it’s all about, 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐏𝐋𝐄.

No matter what your job, how much money you make, what you drive, how good looking you are, how many degrees you have, or how busy you are…

Don’t forget, we 𝐀𝐋𝐋 need help sometimes ❤️

‼️ 𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐑 𝐍𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐄 ‼️

Most of us have heard 𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐑 stories about e collars, right?

And sometimes, rightfully so.

Dick and Sally see an “influencer” using an e collar online so they order one off Amazon for $40, not having a clue what they are doing.

The “influencer” failed to communicate or Dick and Sally made the assumption that their dog would automatically understand English because of the magical tool.

See how ridiculous that sounds?!

But people believe it!

Guys, 𝐀𝐋𝐋 tools need conditioned. However, there are 𝐈𝐑𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄/𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐒𝐒 dog owners/𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐑𝐒 that think the e collar is an exception. And we wonder why it has such a bad reputation 🤦🏻‍♂️

Prerequisites:
✅ Charged marker
✅ Understands leash pressure
✅ Lowest level perceived on e collar

It’s our 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 to 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇 the dog what the e collar means.

How I do it it:

E collar ➡️ leash guidance ➡️ mark and reward

Soon, it will be 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 that the dog understands 𝐄𝐗𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐋𝐘 what the e collar means and I will layer verbal communication over it.

If you need 𝐀𝐍𝐘 help with this process and you don’t feel 100% confident, ask me personally or find a trainer who can 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖 you their work.

⁉️𝐈𝐒 𝐈𝐓 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐂⁉️

This video will 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐔𝐒𝐄 many people because most 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐊 this puppy recalling perfectly from a beeping noise.

The tone means 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 to Ceecee. In fact, it’s a tool for 𝐘𝐎𝐔, so you know when I use the e collar.

You may ask:

❓Why does she need to feel the e collar?”

✅ If I’m going to use the tool 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐘, she needs to understand what the foreign sensation means: how to turn it off and ultimately how to avoid it all together.

❓”Why can’t you only use a verbal command?”

✅ This is the 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 step in the process 🙌🏽

I hope we can agree that it’s 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑, Ceecee understands exactly what the e collar means, come back to me.

Notice I only performed these reps when she wasn’t looking at me and I made sure not to make 𝐀𝐍𝐘 movements until she engaged with me. I wanted to be 𝟏𝟎𝟎% sure she was responding to the e collar and 𝐍𝐎𝐓 physical/visual cues.

And to clarify, if I used the collar and she didn’t respond, I would go back to help with the leash, 𝐍𝐎𝐓 turn it up.

Now that it’s 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 that Ceecee understands the meaning of the e collar, I’m ready to layer over a 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐁𝐀𝐋 command.

As always, if you need 𝐀𝐍𝐘 help with this process and you don’t feel 100% confident, ask me personally or find a trainer who can 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐖 you their work.

🎶 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐎 𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐄𝐌, 𝐊𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍 𝐓𝐎 𝐅𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐄𝐌 🎶

I’m a huge fan of challenging dogs in order to make them the most 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓 versions of themselves.

Sometimes this means trying tasks/obstacles that we don’t complete, initially.

Going back and dissecting this video it’s easy to say I coulda, woulda, shoulda.

Watching the last couple attempts, he was so close to putting his back paw on the obstacle. We were literally inches away from a lightbulb moment.

Instead, he resisted the little pressure I decided to apply and I didn’t want to turn a situation that was supposed to be fun into a over stressful/negative experience.

Deciding whether to keep pushing or back off can be challenging. This is why it’s so beneficial to be able to read the dog in front of you.

Stay tuned and watch how our 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 improves and how Kane will get more confident and trust me in these challenging scenarios.

‼️𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐃𝐎𝐆𝐒 𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄‼️

Quit being so 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐂!

Tell that to the people who have:

➡️ Owned a dog that got hit by a car
➡️ Had a dog run away
➡️ Got a lawsuit for an out of control dog

Now let’s talk about recall training and a 𝐁𝐈𝐆 problem I 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐋𝐘 see.

Many “social media dog trainers/influencers” can make questionable content, convincing the average viewer they have a great recall.

A common error is putting the dog into a sit/down, walking away, turning to face the dog, and finally recalling them.

Look great right? Especially when they do it from 100 yards!

What they really showed is a dog with a good “stay,” that 𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 a recall 🤔

Think realistically about when you actually 𝐍𝐄𝐄𝐃 to recall your dog.

➡️ Running towards dog
➡️ Chasing a rabbit
➡️ Sprinting towards the mailman
➡️ Lost in who knows what smell

𝐍𝐎𝐍𝐄 of those scenarios are when the dog is sitting and waiting for a recall 🤦🏻‍♂️

By teaching a recall that way, you are giving yourself a 𝐅𝐀𝐋𝐒𝐄 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄, thinking your dog will come back to you in a harder situation.

Ultimately you are setting you and your dog up for failure and potential danger, depending on the scenario/environment.

Use your brain and think 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 scenarios when teaching recall.

‼️ 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 ‼️

99.999% of dog owners would rather be glued to their phones rather than engaging with their dogs, right?

And your dog would rather:

➡️ Sniff everything
➡️ Say hi to people
➡️ Bark at dogs

Have you ever taken the time to actually show you dog that you are fun?

Believe it or not, most dogs I work, do 𝐍𝐎𝐓 want to interact with me, at least at first.

And this is where most people 𝐆𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐔𝐏…

But you don’t have to!

Learn what 𝐌𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒 your dog. And learn the 𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇𝐘. Not all food, affection, play, etc are created equal 🤯

There are 100 different tips/tricks I could give you about reinforcement schedules/packages but I’ll keep it simple…

Put your phone down and have 𝐅𝐔𝐍 with your dog!

‼️𝐁𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐒𝐓 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓‼️

It’s ok to 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐄 with your dogs behavior 😱

How we got to the point is beyond me, but here we are. Hear hear me out…

If you are an everyday dog owner and don’t train dogs for a living there is a very good chance you have no idea about the 𝐃𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐃𝐄 amongst dog trainers.

I truly believe 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐘 trainers agree on several important things. However, it’s the loudest, most controversial trainers, on 𝐁𝐎𝐓𝐇 ends of the spectrum, who usually get heard the most, very similar to politics 🇺🇸

Even with this post, I’m sure some wack job will say that I condone kicking your dog in the ribs, helicoptering with the leash, or not feeding for several days. Anyone with a functioning brain knows that’s 𝐍𝐎𝐓 what I’m saying.

The few crazies who believe that would be your your far left/progressive trainers. Again, think politics. Funny but true, usually you can point them out but that’s another post 😂

On a serious note, let me clarify, if all you are doing is punishing your dog or even if you are doing more punishing than reinforcing, there is a problem.

You probably:

➡️ Haven’t set up environment for success
➡️ Are asking for too much too soon
➡️ Aren’t as good as a teacher as you think

This clearly is 𝐍𝐎𝐓 a post on 𝐇𝐎𝐖 to stop/lessen unwanted behaviors. However, I’m 100% saying it’s ok to 𝐍𝐎𝐓 live in your dogs world and let them do anything/everything they want at all times.

01/25/2025

⭐️𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐔𝐏 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍⭐️

99% of dog owners have 𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄 communication with their dog.

If you can can get these two simple words (markers) down, I 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐄 life will be better.

First, don’t get caught up on specific verbiage. You can use whatever words you want. In fact, I prefer to think of them as 𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐒 because that’s exactly what they are to your dog.

For 𝐌𝐘 program:

“Yes” means the dog has completed the behavior and now is 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐃 to 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄 the reward - terminal marker.

“Good” means keep doing what you’re doing and the reward will 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 back to the dog - continuation marker.

Essentially, “good” is like “stay” 𝐁𝐔𝐓 you can use it when your dog is in a stagnant position or moving, to mean keep doing what you are doing 🤯

Regardless of the words you choose, it will highly benefit you to have 𝐃𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓 words for a terminal marker (yes) and a continuation marker (good) - these two words are 𝐍𝐎𝐓 used interchangeably like you hear so many do.

This video is clearly 𝐍𝐎𝐓 a “how to” video but I think you would be surprised how 𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐘 this is to teach.

After these two markers, just add a 𝐍𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 marker, meaning don’t do that and life is so so good!

01/24/2025

☠️ 𝐏𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐑 ☠️

If I didn’t tell you I was using an e collar, you would think you were watching a happy puppy engage with the trainer.

And that’s exactly what you are watching!

Often times people see/hear me train and think I’m a positive only trainer 🌈🦄

Once they find out I use tools they don’t agree with, all hell breaks lose and they think I’m the devil.

This tells me those people are overly emotional about a tool, which is an inanimate object 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ask yourself a common sense question…

Why would I want to ever want to:

➡️ Hurts dogs
➡️ Make dogs scared of me
➡️ Ruin a relationship that I work so hard to build

I wouldn’t 😂

I 𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐒𝐄 to use e collars because when used 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐘, can benefit dogs and their owners and that’s the ultimate goal, right?

For those of you wondering what’s happening in this video, I’m simply pairing the e collar with leash guidance.

Believe it or not, the e collar is foreign to your dog and they don’t know what it means. It’s up to 𝐘𝐎𝐔 to 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇 the dog!

Also, the beep you hear is when I activate the e collar stim, this is 𝐍𝐎𝐓 the tone/vibrate mode.

01/21/2025

⁉️ 𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐀𝐌 𝐈 𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐓 ⁉️

I often tell clients I do things “backwards.”

Backwards compared to many trainers and almost all dog owners…

In this scenario, most would give their dog a command or 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐄:

➡️ Focus/watch me
➡️ Sit/down
➡️ Waving a treat in front of their face

At this stage of training, I’m doing 𝐍𝐎𝐍𝐄 of those.

Instead, I choose to set my dog up to 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓 making decisions on their 𝐎𝐖𝐍.

I’m sorry but I’m not going to be that dog owner to 𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐑𝐎 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐄 everything my dog does, forever.

Why?!

Because I have taken the time to properly communicate what I 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓 and do 𝐍𝐎𝐓 want.

This video is a 6 month old puppy who prefers to interact with 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄!

Guess what?

Sometimes she can but sometimes she can 𝐍𝐎𝐓.

Here is a secret…

Putting clear 𝐁𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒 and teaching whats acceptable/unacceptable doesn’t make you a bad dog parent. In fact, I would say the complete opposite.

01/09/2025

𝐃𝐎𝐆 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐔𝐒 𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐒𝐄 ☠️

Wow! Here is a wild video to start your Thursday morning!

But who is at fault?

As much as I love dogs and I advocate for them at all costs, no matter what the breed…

I think most of us would say the dog is in the wrong.

𝐎𝐑

Is it the dog 𝐎𝐖𝐍𝐄𝐑?

Hopefully anyone with common sense knows the fault lands solely on the owner of this dog.

Nobody will ever convince me…

➡️ This dog has never done anything like this
➡️ It happened out of nowhere
➡️ He is always the bestest boy

With that being said, an 𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 conversation must be had.

For this dog to live a fulfilling life and not be a 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐑 to society, it’s going to take an extremely responsible owner who has experience/skills with powerful dogs.

A dog with these 𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐒 is 𝐍𝐎𝐓 for the average dog owner.

For the horse, I felt terrible because it was restrained and had no way to get away.

The only option for this horse was to defend itself and it was 𝟏𝟎𝟎% justified.

01/07/2025

‼️𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐒‼️

Here’s one of the 𝐁𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐄𝐒𝐓 reasons people struggle with their dogs…

Lack of 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑 communication.

Example: Most dog owners/trainers use “yes” and “good” interchangeably but in 𝐌𝐘 program they mean two completely different things.

➡️ ”Yes” = Dog released to 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄 reward
➡️ “Good” = Hold position, reward 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐒
to dog

And don’t get caught up on verbiage. You can do this with any word/sound.

Ultimately, in 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐋 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 scenarios, you will 𝐁𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐅𝐈𝐓 to have a sound that means your dog is released and and another to hold position.

If you think this is easy and you have clear communication with your dog, 𝐓𝐑𝐘 it.

I think many of you will be surprised that:

➡️ You need to repeat yourself
➡️ Dog cueing off your physical movement
➡️ Dog anticipating patterns

Whereas, this video is 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 proof, this dog knew exactly what I wanted.

This is not a jab at dog owners. Instead, it’s an eye opener to show just how capable your dog really is, 𝐈𝐅 you take the time to 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇 them.

This is only a small portion of clear communication but it shows it is 100% doable. Now just add another sound meaning, stop doing what you are doing and you will be in 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐍!

😮 𝐏𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐎𝐍 𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐒 😮

I put puppies on escalators?!

Yes and no 🤔

No, I’m not not trying to find every escalator in Vegas and make puppies get on/off them all day.

However, if I have a pup/dog that’s fearful to be 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 an escalator, I might try to take advantage of the situation and start to change their association.

If you are considering doing this with any trigger, you should understand motivation, thresholds, pressure, body language, markers (communication), tiggers (stressors), etc.

I know escalators and dogs is a 𝐃𝐄𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 subject but it doesn’t have to be 🤦🏻‍♂️

I personally do 𝐍𝐎𝐓 teach client dogs how to ride escalators, unless it’s a specific request. However, I will jump on an escalator with my own dogs and not think twice 🤷🏻‍♂️

01/07/2025

⁉️𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐏𝐔𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐄𝐒⁉️

Who wouldn’t want to dance with a puppy?

I often tell my clients that dog training can be like a 𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄.

Here’s the thing, I’m a terrible dancer.

However, over the years I’ve learned to work with the dog instead of against him/her.

I’ve learned to use movement, the leash, and food to my advantage to get the dog to move with me, instead of tripping me, usually 😂

Moving fluently with a dog can be extremely foreign and frustrating for clients, especially when they can’t master it immediately.

Think about your job, were you a pro on day one? Why would you expect it to be any different with training your dog?

Along those lines, many clients see trainers doing advanced movements/positions with their dogs - guys, those advanced things are 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐂𝐒.

BarNone K9 Bio

I am Robert “Robi” Taylor, owner of BarNone K9, LLC. Like most, my love for dogs began at an early age. I had three golden retrievers growing up, but it was not until I was 29 years old that I acquired my own dog, Nala. Little did I know; my life was about to change dramatically. To be honest, I was clueless on how to properly train my dog. I became obsessed with learning anything and everything I could to teach my puppy. I became so consumed with dogs that I began to volunteer at local shelters, obtain apprenticeships, work with police dogs (including taking bites), and anything else that would benefit me as a dog enthusiast. My passion for learning about dogs was growing each day and I knew I wanted to take the next step and turn my passion into a career. As I was concluding my career in the United States Air Force, I was certain of the path I was going to pursue. I enrolled into the most accredited dog training school, StarMark Academy in Austin, Texas. Upon finishing the academy, I was selected for their apprenticeship program. During my nine-month apprenticeship, I had the opportunity to expand my experience with training over 300 dogs in agility, behavior modifications, dock diving, obedience training from novice to advanced, nosework, trick training, and much more! Upon returning to Las Vegas, I considered working for a big-box dog training facility where I could continue to gain experience, while feeling "safe." Very quickly, I realized that wasn’t for me and I could offer so much more to the dog community by working on my own. It was then I decided to open BarNone K9 and I haven’t looked back! Since opening BarNone K9, I have continued my education by attending another major accredited k9 school, multiple seminars, and online classes. Most notably I graduated from American K9 Interdiction where I earned the title “Certified Patrol/Explosives Dog Trainer.”
