They are very timid girls and not fully socialized, but we are working with them…takes baby steps! Both are healthly and about 2 yrs old. We have a big ask for Wishlist Wednesday! We have joined the Kuranda ShelterBeds program and have created a list of cat towers that we need to begin purchasing for the sanctuary. These are offered at a 10% discount thru our list, and we’re excited to begin this change. As we grow, we have found that we need to be even more shelter-minded, and are looking to replace all of our carpeted cat trees with these more sanitary, amazing Kuranda cat towers. 🙏😻🙏 We need a long term foster, or foster to adopt for TRIXIE, our little Devon Rex. She is 8yo. We have found that she needs to be an only pet. She’s not good with children either, so a quiet home with a senior or someone who is home most of the time would be perfect. Please do not apply if you have children visiting in your home, she is absolutely terrified of them. We don’t know what traumatized her before she came to us . Trixie is very affectionate, and a major lap cat, but takes a little time to warm up. She must be indoor only, no declaw, and a thorough home check is required. WELCOME RIVER AND BENTLEY TO SWFR! RIVER, formerly Pumpkin, is a 16 to 18-year-old orange tabby who is declawed, and was a last-minute pull from the euthanasia list at TAF 😱. He is severely depressed and in pain from a fractured tooth. His dental is scheduled for Thursday. BENTLEY is a 10 year old gray tabby, who is diabetic. His owners reached out to us when they could no longer give him consistent care, or afford his insulin. Both of these cats have been vetted by our awesome Dr. Wagner at VegasPet Animal Hospital. we are still trying to regulate Bentley’s blood sugar, which was 555 when he was admitted to the clinic. Please, please help us help them by donating for their medical. Medical for the cats usually runs between $3k to $10k a month 😬. BUT IF WE, WITH ALL OF YOUR HELP, DON’T HELP THEM, WHO WILL?? We are not a big rescue, we are a mom and pop shop, and these cats are our passion. But we cannot continue without the SWFR supporters. Every dollar matters! 🆘 🙌🆘🙌🆘 MATCH FUNDRAISER STARTING TODAY!! WE HAVE A DONOR MATCHING UP TO $4500!! It’s just in time too, because we have an urgent situation. Remember ENDOR and LILITH, the cats that were tortured by the four-year-old boy? Well, neither of them have been doing great and they have both been in the clinic for the past week. ENDOR was found to have a foreign object in his belly, and LILITH has a stomach full of something that can’t be identified yet. ENDOR had surgery yesterday to remove the object which turned out to be a penny! It appears the penny was inside of him for quite a while 😩. LILITH is set to have a scope done this coming Wednesday, and we will go from there praying that she won’t need surgery after that. The bottom line is these expenses are going to be high, and we really need the help of the SWFR family. And then there’s the other cats that have had medical over the last few months. Adding to it the price of food continues to increase. We personally are averaging about $1000 a week for food alone. Litter is another story. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that the cats are usually here or with our fosters for the long run, and they need to be supported on an ongoing basis. We have lost several lately, and have a few more that are close to the end of their time, but we have others who have come in. Please help if at all possible. Thank you to all who have donated towards Hunter’s meds and care!! Our boy has been on GS treatment from Stokes Pharmacy for few days now and is already showing improvement. He’s eating and has gained a little weight. Go Hunter!! 🙌😻🐾

🆘 🆘🆘 HELP PLEASE!! We are so low on funds and have multiple cats in treatment, and now poor HUNTER, who is only 1 1/2 years old, and was up for adoption, was just diagnosed with wet FIP 😭. The good news is now has treatment at much less cost available. And there is also new empirical evidence that remission can be reached in half the time, so only 42 days. We had a few pills left from our last FIP cat so we have begun treatment for Hunter and ordered more meds. We will check at 42 days and if he is looking good, we will put him into the observation. If it looks like he still needs further treatment, we will make sure we have enough meds to continue on for 84 days. WE DESPERATELY NEED DONATIONS ! PLEASE EVERY DOLLAR HELPS !
