Introducing Piggies! Herman and Molly. In their temporary pen until the new one gets built. Mollys tail never stops wagging, but she can get pushy. She is a potbelly pig. Herman is shy, but sweet as can be, and loves belly rubs. He is supposedly a mini-pig, but is kinda looking like a potbelly.

They were no-sales at the auction I had went to, so I gave them a home.

Meet Remy, our newest rescue/resident! This adorable little baby boy is about 4 weeks old. He came from a stray colony where the hawks were starting to move in. He got lucky and a very nice lady caught him before anything could happen. Through another friend of mine, she got in touch with us. I just couldnt say nooooo..

Update on Stray colony: So far, no other sign of his 3 siblings, or the other 2 litters. We are praying the moms moved them to safer ground. Remy was very lucky, indeed.. stay tuned for updates on Remy and the rest of our " herd".

Introducing... Angel. I beleive this little beast of cuteness and fluff might be a sizzle. Def one of the quirkiest birds I've met.

Angel was the only egg to hatch and survive from 12 hatching eggs I had incubated.

Had made a post awhile back about a mystery chick. She was the only chicken at the feed store that looked like her, and the store had not ordered anything like her. The general consensus was that it was possibly a polish. Well.. here we are.

Cappy turned out to be a Buff laced polish. 😁

She is so pretty.

This is the chick I was taking about in my previous post.

I love the colors and markings on this little one so far. The farmers market wasn't sure if it was a marans or not, because it doesn't look like the other black marans they had recieved in shipment, and the other chicks they recieved then were black australorps.

I had asked if maybe it was a little cockerel but they're all supposed to be female.

I guess time will tell on this one.

?

We are not sure the last one. I believe it's another black maran with a really cool face.

Have been so busy with things lately I haven't been able to get on much. I have a lot of pictures I would like to post. Mostly flowers and chickens😂

This was a fun one day brooder project.

This gave the chicks a fun, warm, and safe environment with more room to play and run around. This gave us a brooder that should last for years to come, peace of mind, and less mess to clean up.

🐥Bought the biggest bin I could buy on wheels, for easy moving around and cleaning,

🐥Square 1/2 inch animal mesh

🐥Electrical conduit(one strait piece and one elbow), brackets to fasten it to the tub, and a bag of clamps that connect it.

🐥Chain

🐥Heatlamp, we used the one we already had.

🐥Tools: Snipps, pipe saw or something to cut the conduit down, Philip's head screwdriver, pliers, dremel.

While the chicks are not happy they can't fly out anymore, we are.

Eggs from the new ladies!

Earlier in our story I was sharing that we adopted four Black Jersey Giant hens from a friend of ours who could no longer keep them.

These are the wonderful gifts they laid us on their first day here! I am absolutely in love with that pink sandstone colored one with the white speckles. The terracotta one is also very nice, and I think they are all beautiful. I find it very interesting that three of the same type of hen can lay such different eggs.

I can't wait to see what the fourth one looks like. Hopefully today all four will lay and we can find out!

Two tone Daffodils. Simple, but still my favorite type. I need more bulb flowers in my life. They just come up on their own every year, and you only have to plant them once. Incredibly reliable, and a great return on investment.

There are so many flowers blooming out right now. Now if I could just figure out a way to be able to spend all day taking pictures of flowers... flowers and animals actually, that would be nice.

#🥚 Our old lady hen, marshmallow, is still laying these amazing striped easter eggs! She started laying again a couple months ago. It surprised me, being so early in the season. What also surprises me is how many she has been laying! She usually only lays a couple a week, lately it's been 4 to 6. Go Marshmallow, I guess your age is serving you well. #🐓

Cutest Baby Chick?

Idk if it's possible, but this little heart stopper might be the cutest baby chick I've ever seen.

Her puffy cheeks and dark eyeliner make her look like she is ready for a Shirley Temple movie. You top that with her silly personality, and the way she stares at you and c***s her head to the side, and you can't help falling in love with this little fuzz ball.

She has picked up the nickname Monkey because of her cheeks, but Shirley might be a more appropriate name for her.

#🐥 We have a Mystery Chick!

Can anyone help us identify this little cutie?

While picking out chicks at the local farmers market I spotted this little one, by the waterer, yelling at me for intruding. The only one of it's kind, hanging out in a bin with Rhode Island Reds, and some Black Australorps. They said they didn't order anything like that, it must have snuck in, or had been shipped as a mystery chick. They were not sure what it was either.

We are going to name it Cappy, due to the little hat on its head.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you 😊

*Chick Update*

The first batch of chicks we hatched are almost 3 weeks old and getting big. They have a lot of feathers and we're starting to see different colors in them.

Moved them to a bigger brooder so they have more room. It's a repurposed dog crate and is working well. They were trying to fly out of brooder at 2 weeks old so we needed something with a top on it.
