🐱We still have plans to bring the cat cafe to life. Our goal is to save money to have a purpose-built establishment for our furry friends. Instead of spending a fortune on renovating a building that we don't own, we believe it's worth investing in a space specifically designed to be a Cat Cafe.

We want the cafe to appear as a Victorian home on the outside and inside. The exterior will transport you back in time, and as you step inside, you'll be greeted by a atmosphere of comfort. Our aim is to create a space where everyone feels instantly at home, surrounded by rescue cats, and served food and drinks.

We can't wait to bring this unique and heartwarming experience to our community 🐱

We have some unfortunate news to share regarding the cat cafe. During a recent visit from a contractor, it was revealed that the work required to renovate the cafe would be much more expensive than anticipated due to environmental health regulations. The estimate for all the renovations is around $50,000 - $60,000. As a result, we are faced with a significant financial burden, and we have to stop the process for now. Instead of paying that much to renovate, we rather invest in a building that is already equipped to be a cafe and will not need such renovations.

In light of these circumstances, we have made the decision to donate the funds raised for the cat cafe to a cat rescue organization. We believe this is the most responsible course of action, ensuring that the money will still benefit our feline friends in need.

While this setback is disheartening, we remain grateful for the tremendous support we have received throughout this project. Your enthusiasm and dedication have been truly inspiring. We are determined to find a way to keep the cat cafe alive and thriving, and we appreciate your patience as we navigate this challenging situation.

Hey everyone! If anyone happens to know where we can find a triple commercial sink at a good price, please let us know! Our cat cafe really needs it, because it's a requirement. We're also on the lookout for a glass door for the entrance to the cat lounge area, along with some small windows that allow people to peek at the adorable kitties from the cafe without going inside the cat lounge. And if anyone knows where we can get a bar top at a good price we'd appreciate the tip!

We also need to paint the entire cafe and installing a backsplash for the bar area. Unfortunately, the cost of the plumbing work has used up most of our funds. Our main goal is to keep everything as affordable (or free) as possible for now, and then gradually upgrade things as we go along once we open. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We want to keep the momentum going from last week's successful fundraising for the cat cafe. Together, we raised an impressive $225!

I want to take a moment to update everyone on the Cat Cafe situation. I wanted to keep you all in the loop and let you know where the money from the fundraiser is going. The loan we got for the cafe wasn't enough to cover everything. We're needing to find creative and budget-friendly ways to finish up. Trust me, it's been a bit stressful, but we're determined to make it work!

Here is a list of things we need for the cat cafe so everyone can see where the money raised is going to:

1. Bathroom Remodel: We plan to give the bathroom a fresh makeover, including a brand new toilet, vanity, and painted walls.

2. Waterproof Flooring: To ensure the utmost comfort and cleanliness for our furry friends, we are looking to install waterproof flooring in the cat area.

3. Cafe Refresh: The entire cafe area will receive a fresh coat of paint on the walls.

4. Mop Bucket Basin/Drain Area: We need build a dedicated area for mop buckets and drains to maintain a clean and efficient workspace, required by environmental health.

5. Furniture: Both the cat area and the cafe need furniture

6. Brighten up the Cafe: Adding some stylish and functional light fixtures in the cafe area will create a cozy atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

7. Essential Appliances: We need blenders, coffee makers, and a dishwasher to ensure smooth operations in the cafe.

8. Commercial Sink: A triple commercial sink is essential for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in our kitchen area. Also required by environmental health.

9. Automated Litter Robots: We need two robots making the cleaning process easier and more efficient.

10. Cat Room Entrance: To provide a seamless transition from the cafe to the cat area, we plan to install a windowed door at the entry point.

11. We would like to put windows on the wall, allowing people to see the cats without entering the cat area while enjoying their coffee or smoothies.

The cat cafe has made significant progress, with most of the framing and walls already built. However, after a meeting with environmental health, we discovered that we still need to install a specialized air conditioning system to separate the cafe from the cat area. This was not something we anticipated initially. In addition to the air conditioning system, there are a few other tasks that need to be completed. Therefore, we have decided to organize a fundraiser to raise the necessary funds. Installing a new air conditioning system can be quite expensive, so any support is greatly appreciated. We are currently brainstorming ideas for the fundraiser, and if anyone has suggestions, please don't hesitate to share them with us! For now, we will be hosting tattoo raffles until we finalize a more comprehensive plan. Feel free to share this information to help us out, and we will soon have the fundraiser details posted on our website. Despite the set backs we are still very excited to bring a Cat Cafe to North GA!
