One of the most important items that ever bird owner should have is a digital scale. A drop in body weight more than 10% can happen fast and can be dangerous. Keeping a good eye on your babies weight can help knowing when to seek attention. I recommend everyday for the first month home then once a week for life. I use a weight watchers scale. Any good quality digital scale will do.

What toys will your Parrotlet like? Good question. It seems they all have a little bit different taste. I like to start with different textures to see what they like best. I advise having 3 toys in the cage. I like to rotate the once a week. Taking one out and adding a new one. I keep a box of the extras and trade them out to keep things interesting for these busy little beaks. A good place to start is one with plastic and bells, one with wood, one with wicker balls, and one with leather ties. A busy Parrotlet is a happy Parrotlet. 💕. Remember the beaks are small so you will want small toys.

You will see a lot of different cages when you search Parrotlet cages. Most of them are either too big or too small. These are my personal favorites. Extra height does nothing for Parrotlets. The length of these give plenty of room for perches and toys. Also these doors are big enough to each in to get your bird to step up and also make changing out the toys weekly easier.
