Hey all! Just had a litter born a couple of days ago. It’s a repeat breeding from the last litter born. There are blues and blue brindles. I am going to do a blue but deciding between a boy and a girl. This pup would preferably go as a co-own. Anyone interested and what gender??

I have a pick of litter that I would like to do a co own on for breeding that will be a blue. Is anyone interested and would you prefer a boy or a girl? Also, the litter is with a friend so pups will be for sale through her as well and there will be blues, blue fawns and blue brindles.

My purchase of a well bred purebred did not sentence another dog to death.

My purchase of a well bred purebred did not cause an increase in the number of dogs in shelter.

Me wanting a dog with a predictable temperament from healthy lineage did not cause another dog to not get adopted.

My meticulous research and support of only the most responsible of breeders is not the problem. It is not what you should be mad at. It is not what you should be pushing the blame onto.

I am not the one who brought these dogs into the world irresponsibly and left them in a shelter. Responsible breeders are not the ones who put dogs into shelters either.

It is my home, my life, and my choice of what kind of dog to bring into it. Maybe I needed a working dog, a sport dog, or simply a companion puppy to raise of a breed I enjoy. No matter the reason, my choice to support a reputable breeder did not send a shelter dog to its death.

A breeder who health tests, temperament tests, studies pedigrees, proves a dog worthy of being bred, and only breeds when doing so is of benefit to the breed is not contributing to the number of homeless dogs.

The number of homeless dogs in the world is a problem, but it is not a problem exacerbated by reputable breeders and those who purchase from them.

Your neighbor down the street who refuses to contain his unaltered dogs IS contributing to the problem.

Your friend who impulse bought a dog at PetLand IS contributing to the problem.

That guy on Craigslist pumping out the trendiest designer mix as fast as he can IS contributing to the problem.

Your relative who just HAS to let their dog have one litter “so she can experience motherhood” or because “she’s just so sweet” IS contributing to the problem.

Your old high school classmate who bought a high energy working breed without taking the time to research its needs and realize it was not a good fit for their household ahead of time IS contributing to the problem.

A reputable breeder offers their lifelong support. A reputable breeder would never allow their dogs to end up in a shelter to begin with. A reputable breeder makes it a contractual obligation to return dogs they have produced back to them should you find yourself unable of keeping it.

It is understandable to be angry about the number of homeless dogs in the world, but if you take a deeper look, you will find your anger is misplaced.

If you take a deeper look, you will find reputable breeders and those of us who purchase from them are just as angry, we are just pointing fingers at the right causes.

Our eighth annual Horrible Hundred was released today. We release this report annually to highlight problematic puppy mills in the US and warn consumers who may be supporting these inhumane operations. It's important to know that this is not a full list of the "worst" breeders, but it offers a glimpse into the cruel world of puppy mills.

Non profits seem to be hit the hardest during a tough economy. And we don’t want to short change the non profits we usually host events for. So with that being said we have modified our sign up schedule to stagger the appointments so there will be no over lap. A 15 minute session will be done every half hour and we will be hosting it at our Layton studio instead of the on location venue. So if you are looking for an amazing deal on a family photo, picture of your pet or picture of the kids, this is the deal you don’t want to pass up! 25 dollar donation, 100% of the proceeds go to ITA and there will be an awesome selection of photos taken that you can order more of after the event as well if you’d like. I hope to see you soon! Here is the sign up link!!!

Hey everyone. I am sad to report that a past puppy owner has been struggling with her dog being territorial around his house and food. She’s concerned about her kids and has asked for help getting him placed. He will need someone who is dominant but only uses positive reinforcements and is willing to have a behavioralist work with him around the home. Odin will preferably go to a home without kids and does better with females. He is ok with other dogs but would need to be fed separate until he is worked with. There is a small adoption fee and buyer will have to agree to the terms on the original puppy contract. Please contact Trish Maxwell Griffee if you are interested.

Many reputable breeders have found themselves in what they’re calling “Facebook jail” after the platform started ruthlessly enforcing their ban on animal sales.

Major is ready to breed!

*Available to select females to preserve the lines, I will be picky!* Females must be AKC registered Great Danes, UTD on all vaccines, and have a negative brucellosis within the last month before breeding. Passing health tests are also a must! Females will be thoroughly vetted and I reserve the right to refuse stud services upon evaluation of said female.

Major weighs about 140 and height is 34” but he’s still growing a bit. Pedigree available to those interested. He is yet to be proven but is eager to do so! He has been around females in heat and he is very interested. Major is a big goof and his temperament is mild and relaxed, more so than any Dane I have ever seen! He still loves to run and go hiking any time though as long as he is with his human. He does have some European in him as well, approximately 20 percent. He is indoor only and has been raised around children and cats.

Stud fee:1. *$1,000 cash. 2. $500.00 cash and 1st Pick of the Litter. POL: 1st, 3rd pup for POL
*Note: After he is proven, price for stud fee will be increased!

Artificial Insemination is available, I go through South Mountain Pet Care for reproduction needs. I would prefer first breed to be live but if choosing to use AI all vet costs are dam owners responsibility up front. If you have questions about what he can produce with your individual female, just ask. He can produce any color or pattern in Danes depending on who he is breed with besides tan point does not carry pie but puppies may show some pie if bred to a pie or pie carrier but pups won't be full pie with him. He can produce Harlequin with a Merle!

Health tests (OFA) have been done for hip, thyroid, and heart. Hips were good, thyroid and heart normal I do not do elbows anymore as it was deemed to not be a concern for the breed and it was taken off of the recommend testing. Inherited myopathy genetic test was negative and sent in to OFA as well as his color results.

Messenger is the best way to reach me. I work odd hospital hours.

Hey guys! I have a female that is in a co own home right now. She is a 2 year old brindle that carries blue. She will need ofa testing immediately and should be ready for pups soon. Her mommy moved into a home that has huskies and they have been picking on her which has led to behavioral problems but when the dogs were removed those went away. She is looking for someone to take over her contract (3 puppies back) and a good home. She is torn but it will be best for her mental well-being. Pictures to come soon.
