World Bee Day is a worldwide celebration of the mighty pollinator: the bee! World Bee Day is a big deal for us at the American Beekeeping Federation (and we hope it is a big deal for you too).

In the U.S., the honeybee has a special place in our hearts and is a vital part of the agricultural industry.

🐝 Honeybees pollinate about 130 agricultural crops!
🐝 In fact, many U.S. crops, including blueberries and cherries, are 90-percent dependent on honey bee pollination.
🐝 But honeybees also face many challenges, include pesticide exposure and Varroa mite infestation.

That's why, everyday, we work in the best interest of U.S. beekeepers - big and small - so that we all can be good stewards to these amazing, important insects.

I took advantage of this sunny day to tuck in the hives at Sunny Square Farm’s apiary for the winter. (Of course the heavens opened 🌨 when the hives were open but it all worked out.).
Fair thee well to the royal queens and all the hard working maidens. Hoping for an easy winter and no evil mites!
And yes honey 🍯 will be for sale soon.
