Fido's Friend Loving care for your furkids in your home or ours If you’re like me, your pets are family members. I am an experienced, life-long dog owner and dog lover.

When you can’t be home for them, whether it’s for work, vacation or other obligations, you want your best friends taken care of with the same love and attention you give them. I believe that most dog owners prefer loving homes (theirs or ours) to kennels for their furkids when seeking dog sitting or walking services. I will give you the peace of mind you seek by providing your furkids with quality

, loving care while you're away. Whether your dog is shy or bold, young or senior, large or small, I will provide loving care for your best friend in your home or mine*. My home has a large, fenced backyard so your dog will have plenty of room to run and play. Your dogs will get plenty of outside potty breaks, and even dog walking if requested. Plus, your dog will be with me throughout the day and night as I work primarily from home. My professional background includes small business development and consulting, specializing in human resources and recruiting. I also consider myself a dog hobbyist in that I have fostered dozens of dogs on their way to a better life. Although I'm not a certified trainer, I know a great deal about training and canine behavior. I use only positive reinforcement and rewards and can continue any (positive) training program you have underway. I have three dogs of my own - all rescues - all are lab mixes. They are very social and good with other dogs.

*If your dogs are staying in my home, they must be properly socialized and up to date on vaccinations. If not, they can still be candidates for sitting in your home.

Whaaaaaat fresh hell is this? All of this thick, heavily dyed cardboard was used to send me a %$ #&^ Visa card. Seriously? Who made this decision? Because apparently they're not living on the same planet as the rest of us that is drowning in GARBAGE. I suppose I could see this if it was a fancy pants AMEX card with a bougie clientele (not really because AMEX has more sense than this). Man alive I've gotten fairly accustomed to the stupid tone deaf decisions of giant corporations but this is really beyond the pale offensive. I left Verizon Wireless 9 years ago because of their lousy customer service but allowed myself to be lured back by a good deal. The expression is overused but I'm using it.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge how incredibly fortunate I am to have the client base that I do. This whole crisis with Major is the first time in my 10+ years as a petsitter that I have been faced with a family cruelly dumping a difficult-to-place doggo in a shelter. 99.99% of my clients would sooner cut off a limb.

If I'm honest, it's been a year and a half emotional roller coaster with these people and more than a few times I considered dropping them. The one thing that made me stick it out was my commitment to advocating for Major with his wicked stepmonster and his spineless dad.

All of that said, it is with mixed emotions that I announce that Major's family had 2nd thoughts and picked him up over the weekend. Seems the concerns I expressed about potential euthanasia resonated albeit slowly. They told shelter staff that they would look into behavioral medication and training (geez if only their petsitter had recommended this path a year and a half ago 🙄).

I will likely never see Major again, as my last conversation with his dad was rather direct. All I can do is hope and wish for nothing but the very best for him, because that is what he deserves.

Well it's me again, the once-a-year Facebook poster. I found out yesterday that Major will be going to KC Pet Project tomorrow where he has about the same chance of getting adopted as he has at winning the lottery. His owner, my soon-to-be-former-client is a clueless a-hole whose wife is about to pop out a 2nd kid in 2 years. So if you're currently a no-dog family open to being a one-dog family or you know someone who is, this is your chance to save his life.

Plus, your dog will be with me throughout the day and night as I strive to match Fido’s environment as closely as possible. I also offer day dog care services at an affordable hourly or daily rate. If you're hosting a party or any event and need your dogs away from home for several hours, you can count on me for day services as well. My professional background includes small business development and consulting, specializing in helping small business owners organize their home & work lives. I work primarily from home so you can be assured your dogs are safe, engaged, and well cared for.

In general we run a tight ship while keeping it fun! All of the furkids are fed separately and closely supervised when enjoying treats or toys. We do allow dogs on the furniture but I will respect your wishes in terms of what rules you use in your home so as not to create any confusion for Fido or send him home with an undesirable new habit. *If your dogs are staying in my home, they must be properly socialized and up to date on vaccinations. If not, they can still be candidates for sitting in your home.
