🚨Foster Homes Needed for Rescued Bunnies 🚨

In early June we were made aware through Facebook of some rabbits that were dumped outside of Salem at a wildlife refuge. These bunnies ARE NOT WILD, and were terrified to be out there. They were discarded at a parking area and one of them had severe injuries and could barely move. Our rescuers quickly went out there and started looking through the thick grass, these buns were so scared and confused that they didn't even run away when our volunteer scooped them up. They even seemed grateful to have been saved and relaxed once being held. We rescued four of them and made sure to check a second time for any others. They have received medical attention for mites, nail clipping and the female has been spayed. Meet Bramble, Fern and Birch! Willow the injured bun was transferred to our friends at Avalon Microsanctuary to receive the amputation and extensive medical care she needs.

Please do not dump your rabbits, please reach out to your local rescue, humane society or shelter if you need help rehoming your pet. These sweet buns were thrown away like trash. No life should have to endure the amount of pain, suffering and terror they faced.

Happy everybun!! We are SO THRILLED to share this labor of love with you! We have been working with the brilliantly talented Drawings by Lili Chin to create a bunny body language poster! We've been wanting this resource for our clients for quite a while, as we just haven't found one that we love-so we reached out to Lili for help! Lili is well-known in the positive training community for helping pet parents better understand their animals. She has also illustrated several positive dog training infographs, and we were very excited to get her help with this project!

🐰✨ Did you know you can train your rabbits, and it’s easier than you think? Most buns are super treat-motivated and can pick up on clicker training quickly! ** Adira Update **

She is slowly recovering and getting better. We still have so much more care to do with her. The vet requested we give her some time to heal her skin and get more comfortable with her surroundings before doing any more treatments. She is still very skittish but is finally eating pellets and hay! (From living outside she was unfamiliar with this type of food, and the scraps she found probably contributed to her poo encrusted backside 😭.)

This photo was taken at the vet clinic right after shaving. It took 3 people over an hour to shave her. They said she was very patient with them. The vet said after her skin heals and she gets a little more acclimated, then we need to slowly and gently work on freeing her tail in warm soapy water.

The bill for her at the visit was $297. 😢 We also had some other buns vaccinated so our bill for the day was $472. Please, if you can donate to help recover these costs, we would be so grateful!

Emergency rescue! ⚠️

Meet Adira! She was rescued by a wonderful past adopter in Salem and brought to our rescue last night. Thankfully Creswell Veterinary Hospital was able to squeeze her in today for an emergency exam and medical shave. She is currently being put under a light anesthesia to shave the mats away.

She is by far the worst matted rabbit we've ever seen. Her underside is absolutely caked in p**p and she smells horrific. The mats are so bad they are impairing her ability to walk. We are so thankful she was able to be rescued before the summer heat set in where she'd potentially get fly strike. 😭 Another perfect example as to why domestic rabbits CANNOT live in the wild!

We desperately need to raise funds for this little lady's appointment today and her future medical needs!

🐇Two new rescues! 💜

Meet Rosemary and Marshmallow! Rosemary was caught as a stray in Albany yesterday and is just a tiny little baby girl who is oh so adorable 😍. Marshmallow was an owner surrender a week ago as his owners were losing their housing. We typically do not take owner surrenders, but sometimes unfortunate life circumstances happen.

These two cuties need to be RHDV2 vaccinated and spayed/neutered then they will be up for adoption! Of course, they are available for "foster to adopt".
