We are excited to be collecting our buck, Shades of Blue, on Monday, 10/2/23. Blue's dam, Goldthwaite Kentucky Blue Moon, is well on her way to earning her milk stars with 10.9 # on her first test, 11.2 # second, and 5.6% butterfat. The first 3 pictures are of his dam. The 4th picture is of Blue. $45 for each straw or 5/$200. Located in Lebanon, IN.

We were asked to provide some of the goats for the mini 4H participants to show today. It was so fun watching and helping invest in the next generation of 4H'ers!

It was a good day at the fair! Isaiah, Lucas, and their goats put in a lot of hard work the past few months and it paid off.
A few highlights.
⭐️Isaiah Grand Champion Utility Goat Craft (goat milk caramels).
⭐️Lucas Reserve Grand Champion Utility Goat Craft (goat milk soap).
⭐️Isaiah Reserve Champion Advanced Showman and 3rd place Master Showman.
⭐️Lucas Grand Champion Intermediate Showman and Reserve Grand Champion Master Showman.
⭐️Lucas with Twin Reflection AKA Allure Grand Champion Dairy Goat and Reserve Grand Champion Overall Utility Goat.
⭐️We ended the day with Lucas receiving the Boone County Fair Supreme Utility Goat for the most points won during the day!

We have eggs available! Extra large brown eggs as well as duck eggs. Duck eggs are delicious prepared just as chicken eggs are prepared and are really good for baking. Duck eggs are eaten more than chicken eggs worldwide! $4 a dozen for chicken eggs and $5 for duck.

We know we've been a little quiet here on the page but things are still hopping around Dandy Acres. We will be sharing some of our planned breeding over the next few days. We did have a little surprise this week when a doe who had not been confirmed pregnant gave birth to this little beauty. Meet Dandy Acres Whoopsie!

The moment we’ve been preparing and waiting for all year is finally here! It’s time for the Boone County Fair!

This year we have 3 Nubians being shown in the Utility Goat category for 4H. Hoping for a great outcome!

The boys purchased their own baler this weekend. The gentleman was so impressed with their drive and work ethic, he charged them less than half of what he was asking on marketplace. It was incredibly kind! Lucas is using it for the first time tonight and this is his first bale. He is quite proud!

If anyone has a decent hay rake for sale, this should be the last piece they need to prevent having to borrow equipment in the future!

We've been quiet on our page but things haven't been quiet at Dandy Acres!
Isaiah and Lucas were presented with the opportunity to mow a couple hay fields. They pooled together money they had saved and bought a mower. Once they pay back their savings, they will use the profits to buy supplies for their animals and some other fun things!
If you know of anyone needing grass hay, please keep them in mind!

When it came time to choose our farm name, it didn't take long for us to come up with and agree on Dandy Acres. It's not often our family of 4 comes to a unaminous decision, especially so quickly. So why Dandy Acres?

Dandelion is our 14-year-old golden retriever. We refer to her as Dandy, and she is the princess of our home. She certainly thinks she's human and barely acknowledges any other animals around here. She is our first child, and the boys have never known life without her.

We were recently given the opportunity for Dandy to be a model for a professional photographer. We couldn't be any happier with the images captured of our girl. We hope you also enjoy Dandy's story and her pictures!

Everybody is enjoying the beautiful weather! Our two newest kids, a buckling and beautiful doeling, sired by J&M Hideaway RU Wi******er and dam Cozy Meadow Nutmeg.

We haven't named them yet. Any suggestions? The doeling name needs to be something that flowers. No rules for the buckling!

It has been a busy couple days here at Dandy Acres. We have had 10 babies born to 3 dams and have more to come! We will get individual pictures of the kids up soon. In the meantime, enjoy these sweet babies all cozy and cuddled up!

While Nubian goats are the focus here at Dandy Acres, what farm would be complete without chickens and ducks? Lucas has Blue Plymouth Rock chickens that lay extra large eggs. They are nothing compared to some of the duck eggs he's gotten. Check out this monster of an egg. He used this opportunity to practice his math skills too!

RU Wi******er is the sire to our dames who are set to kid this week. We call him Frank and he is the friendliest buck who never misses a chance to flash his smile!
