Dr. Crockett and Jake
Did you know Dr. Crockettâs passion and love of riding started when she was in kindergarten. Just recently she started eventing again on her horse Jake. See Jake was the last foal of Dr. Crockettâs most beloved horse, Babs. After vet school, she quit riding for 17 years. Jake was sold as a 6 year old Thoroughbred. In October 2022, Dr. Crockett was gifted back Jake. She never thought about showing again until she jumped him in December before the big accident. After the accident, they did jumpers for the summer but Dr. Crockett was missing something! She called up her event trainer in Franklin and said, Iâm ready to go back in eventing. They did great this season: 4th, 6th, and 6th place and only a few points out of the top three!

Dr. Crockett will be out of town from July 27-August 1. We recommend Smith County Animal Clinic or Haley Veterinary Practice if you have need to see a veterinarian during normal practice hours. We will be back seeing patients on August 1st! As always, please visit our website for all local emergency clinic information at www.cumberlandcreekvet.com.
The video is from Dr. Crockettâs own personal pet, Indy Jones. He is four days post-op from a left forelimb amputation. Indy was diagnosed with a left forelimb osteosarcoma. He is a Rhodesian Ridgeback and doing phenomenal on three legs. Indyâs favorite time of the day is when we go on a walk. Indy did a a little les than 1/4 mile walk this morning on his own free will!! We are so proud of his accomplishments and desire to be active.
