In the beginning there was you.
You looked into my eyes and saw a girl .
A girl looking at her first job. From that very first day you believed in that young, shy girl.

In her beginnings you were always there. From the first “cross rails”, first “xc- schooling”, to the first “outside line”. And all the countless lessons in between. Your steady rhythmic, and sometimes hot, canter made it seem easy to learn . Like how to ride a “five stride” or how your girl eventually learned how to turn down center line , halt , x- salute….. sorry Danae Martin 🫣

In those quite , more care free, younger days, a bond formed . I’d take care of you, You would take care of me. Silent but Strong, we both knew it existed. My thoughts became your actions. We were two hearts, yet one.

In the beginning of our next adventure, in life, came travel. We separated for a SHORT TIME. While I went to Alberta, you stayed home. To TORMENT my parents w/ your antics and escapades. It became clear, NO OPTIONS ALLOWED, you made me bring you along for the ride .

My constant MORNING STAR. In those beginnings, a girl became a woman, through many working student positions, groom positions and later barn manager/ married life .

We grew up together ! But we always kept OUR PROMISE to each other.

From the very beginning, your mandatory morning head rubs on my ass. To lightly nudging my back when I lead you to countless paddocks. To the soft eye you’d give me. To the begging with your head high and sideways for another cookie or carrot or THE WHOLE JAR MOM!!!

Your bossy foreman bad-attude . Your needy wants and demands. To be first in, first out, first fed, first, first, first!

Your countless track stories!
Your big bright bold personality!
Your strength and intelligence!
Your ability to pick locks!
Your friendship!

All will be missed.

However, my friend of 16 years, this is not the end.

You taught me well.

I will forever keep my promise and protect you.

We are separated , for now.

But it’s only A BEGINNING.

We will sore across wheat fields again my friend.

So here is to our new beginnings.

Meet Jaime! Jaime came to me with a history of getting nervous for groomers! Today he was absolutely perfect ! What did I do differently? Used what we call a groomers sling . It safely raises Jaime off the table allowing for safer nail trims and hair cuts ! Way to go Jaime 🥰

Barn manager at a small 9 stall Dressage facility in Leesburg is in search for a reliable, efficient, committed individual with transportation and horse experience who can be on call for various mornings and/ or evening shifts. Morning shift is 8-9. Evening shift is 4-6. Duties include bringing in/out, feeding, stalls, blowing isle, filling water buckets, setting up hay steamer, prepping feed, and blanketing accordingly.
