We are selling the interlocking flooring, each piece is 2’x2’ and 1” thick foam. Majority have one side with scratches from dog nails but the undersides are fine. Some pieces that were under the rugs are not scratched at all. Good for work out rooms, kids playroom, etc. $2 each.

Good afternoon friends. Unfortunately, Barks and Rec hasn’t quite picked up traction the way we hoped it would. Business has slowed to basically non-existent, with only 4 or 5 customers on average per week. We knew opening this business was a huge risk, but we were willing to take that risk. At this point, we aren’t doing enough business to justify staying open. With that said, as of today, we will be closing the dog park. I have wrestled with this decision for a while, and as much as I would love to stay open, we have to do what is best for our family. I wish we were blessed with bottomless bank accounts, but we are just a normal family like everyone else. We also understand that because of the storm, people need to prioritize their finances elsewhere.

Sometimes things don’t work out the way you want them to, and that’s ok. We are so thankful for the community, as well as all the businesses downtown for welcoming us with open arms. We have met so many wonderful people and their amazing dogs, and that’s worth more than a buck any day! We are so thankful for those of you who came to visit us, especially the ones who made the effort to come every week.

Our scheduled training classes will remain intact for those who are still interested in signing up.

I will issue refunds to those who have unused passes in their accounts. If you have purchased passes and have not received your refund by the end of the week, please reach out to me. We will also be selling everything to help with the bills. If you are interested in any of the artwork, equipment, furniture, decor, even the flooring and everything outside, including the artificial turf, feel free to message me. I will post photos this week of everything for sale.

We appreciate your support and understanding, we will miss you and your dogs and we wish everyone the best ❤️

Not quite the Oktoberfest celebration we originally planned, but....
Today (Saturday 10/5, 2-8pm) and tomorrow (Sunday 10/6, 12-8pm), we will be tapping some extra kegs that were ordered for special events that were canceled by the hurricane. Our loss is your gain, AND we're trying to help a fellow business owner's family stranded in Spruce Pine. We'll be offering Liter pours of Red Oak Amber, Red Oak Hummingbird Helles lager, and AMB Boone Creek Blonde ale for $9.75. One dollar from each liter pour will go to provide propane and generator gasoline for a family stranded in their home following the storm. We'll also have our soft pretzels (that we had hoped to release last weekend) on the Small Plates menu with some Oktoberfest-inspired recipe creations. PROST!!

🥲 HELP!! We took in 2 adult dogs AND 2 litters of abandoned, starving puppies YESTERDAY! with more to come.
We are in need of funds to repair the damage caused by Helene AND to care for dogs left to die. We have lost parts of our fence and much of the gravel in our exercise yard. We are striving to maintain a high level of care and comfort for all of our dogs and to get them back on a regular schedule as soon as possible. The wheels must keep turning, we have no other choice but to continue to care for these dogs. We will never desert them.
We feel so very lucky to have weathered this storm and we pray for our friends and neighbors who have lost much more than we have.
