Armega Grooming, LLC

Armega Grooming, LLC Professional pet groomer. Certified in pet CPR and first aid. After retiring with 20 years in the army, I struggled to find a new path.

I earned a bachelors degree in the science of health and wellness, but there was nothing out there that was really appealing to me. I needed to find a new path. I knew this new path would need to be something that I love doing, would keep me busy, be challenging, rewarding, and give me a sense of pride. My love for animals has always been deeply rooted within me, hence my rescuing of stray dogs fr

om other countries, while in the military. I’m not really sure when becoming a groomer clicked, but once it did, there was no doubt in my mind that this is what I wanted to do. I learned everything I could, I set myself up with a certified trainer, learned about different breeds, temperaments, coats, nails, ears, teeth, health conditions, and more. The more I learned, the more I knew this is what I wanted to do. I am so happy with this decision and I can’t wait to serve, even though in a very different capacity.

Public Safety Notice:

Canine Parvovirus Alert:
There are confirmed cases of canine parvovirus (PARVO) in the Brewer and Bangor area. Parvo is a highly contagious and potentially fatal viral disease that affects dogs, particularly those who are unvaccinated or under-vaccinated.
Known facts:
• Several local cases of parvovirus have been confirmed in recent days and weeks.
• The affected dogs were not fully vaccinated against parvovirus.
• Cases are being reported in both Brewer and Bangor, with similar issues observed in other parts of Maine.
• Transmission occurs through exposure to infected vomit or f***s, and contaminated areas remain unsafe for dogs even after cleaning.
Why This Matters:
Parvovirus spreads quickly and can survive in the environment for long periods of time. Without prevention efforts, this outbreak could expand, overwhelming local veterinary resources.
How to Protect Your Dog:
• Vaccinate fully: Parvovirus vaccination is not legally required in Maine, but it is the best protection for your dog. Speak with your veterinarian about the full vaccination series.
• Allow time: Vaccines need 3–4 weeks to become fully effective.
• Get a booster: Dogs that are already vaccinated may benefit from a booster shot for added protection.
• Avoid public spaces if unvaccinated: Dogs that are not fully vaccinated should not be taken to public areas such as dog parks, waterfronts, or shared walking paths.
Signs of Parvovirus:
Watch your dog for symptoms such as:
• Lethargy or weakness
• Vomiting or nausea
• Diarrhea (sometimes bloody)
• Fever
• Anemia
If your dog shows any of these signs, contact a veterinarian immediately. Do not bring a sick dog into public areas where they may expose others.
Community Responsibility
While rabies vaccination is the only legal requirement in Maine, I strongly urge all dog owners to take proactive measures to fully vaccinate their pets.

⚠️ Help prevent a wider outbreak — vaccinate your pets, watch for symptoms, and keep sick or unvaccinated dogs at home.

As much as I dislike composing posts of this nature, I believe it is necessary. I make every effort to accommodate clients and demonstrate understanding when unforeseen circumstances arise, resulting in last-minute cancellations. However, if the reason for cancellation is attributed to forgetfulness, oversleeping, or unforeseen events, I expect adherence to my policy, which stipulates that the full grooming amount is due within 24 hours, and rescheduling will not occur until payment is made. This week alone, I have incurred 10 hours of unpaid time due to such situations. Although I strive to send confirmation messages on the day of scheduling and the day prior to appointments, I encourage all clients to record their appointments or store them in their mobile devices, as I occasionally may not send these reminders. As a sole proprietor, I take immense pride in maintaining a timely schedule, ensuring a clean environment, and providing exceptional care for the animals entrusted to me. Effective communication is crucial in situations where clients are unable to honor their scheduled appointments. Failure to communicate and subsequent no-shows or last-minute cancellations will incur the aforementioned fee, a standard practice among small businesses. While I have been lenient in the past, I have ultimately borne the loss. I respectfully request your understanding in this matter. Refusal to pay the fee will necessitate seeking alternative grooming services. Again, I emphasize that 10 hours of uncompensated time this week alone have prompted this notification. Now, enough of that. Here is a picture of my sweet babies; they always make everything better. ❤️🐾
