Welcome Party Animals - we delighted the folks at Troy Rehab (what a cool facility btw!) with our Mobile Teaching Zoo this afternoon. Some programs it’s about talking and some programs it’s about listening. People like to share their experiences with animals. We could have stayed all day but had to get back to the farm as a volunteer came and moooved the cow house to a fresh patch of grass. Our life is a zoo!

We appreciate everyone who came to visit us at Wild Hearts African Farm & Petting Zoo this weekend. We took great pleasure in sharing our animals with you. In between visitor interactions, our interns used their downtime to hone their sewing skills by repairing and maintaining our umbrellas, which have been essential in this heat. Leeloo the emu has adapted well and is quickly becoming a beloved member of our animal family.

Our farm was buzzing with excitement this week as we hosted numerous homeschooling families who were eager to learn about the animals that reside here. They thoroughly enjoyed the unique opportunity to see the animals up close and expand their knowledge. We are grateful for your visit and hope it was a memorable experience for all!

The animals need us every day. On hot days like today, caring for animals requires extra effort. We were fortunate to have many families visit us from all over Dayton, and our volunteers, staff, and interns (L-R: Baylee, Aurora, Dan, Daniel, Keira, Keith, Paige, Amanda, Tia, Dylan, Vicki, and Jane) worked tirelessly to ensure their visit was enjoyable and the animals were looked after. Kudos to them for their dedication!

Let’s Play Homeschool visited today - there was even authentic African weather 🔥. The tortoises loved the heat, most of the other animals enjoyed cold water and the shade. Leeloo let Amanda hand feed her too. She’s awesome! Thank you to all that visited today.

Our summer library programs around the community continued this week at the Burkhardt Branch. The kids had great questions and we loved their excitement! Thanks to all those that joined us. Next Thursday we will be at Dayton Metro Library Northwest Branch at 10am.

Last evening our Mobile Teaching Zoo visited the Germantown Library with some of our animal ambassadors. We’ve done this program for several years now it’s and it’s always nice to see old and new faces. Thank you again for having us! Snuck in a little photo with Meadow the screech owl when we got back to the farm.

Leeloo and the baby goats are getting more comfortable with one another. She loves to be grazing right beside the goats. Millie is so calm and makes everyone at ease.

Meet Leeloo the emu. She's a spunky 3-month-old toddler. Thank you to everyone who has donated. She was someone’s pet that didn’t work out so we unexpectedly had her join the farm over the weekend. She is currently with the baby goats, their mom Elle and Millie- she LOVES the goats. Wants to sit & cuddle next to them. Let’s welcome her. There is also another animal we are trying to help that will be joining us soon. 💛🐾💛

Wee Haven’s older kids visited for their field trip today, and got to meet our domesticated animals like our cattle and goats, our rescued wildlife like Eleanor the bald eagle, and fascinating exotic animals like our jackals and sand cat, all at a Humane Certified zoo! All these animals together tell a conservation story of humans and animals existing together. We’re so glad to be able to provide this experience for our community.

Additionally, Wild Hearts African Farm has partnered with local Youth Program (xSAIL) in offering part-time/short-term work-experiences to qualified youth ages 14-24.
Ages 14-17 must reside in Preble County.
Make up to $15.00 hourly gaining valuable experience while working various jobs at the zoo!

Right At School Summer Camp in Beavercreek had our Mobile Teaching Zoo back again this summer to share our passion for wildlife conservation with the kids. Today’s word: Diurnal = animals active/awake during daytime hours & includes hawks, eagles, cheetahs, snowy owls and most humans!

Pine Hill Child Care in Centerville had our Mobile Teaching Zoo visit with their children today. We are always happy to be back at their center to let the children learn about animals and create healthy interactions with wildlife at a young age. These positive encounters reinforce appreciation and respect for our natural resources.

🪿Lolly the Duck felt right at home in Lewisburg tonight! All the shopkeepers are always smiling and ready to greet customers, so we loved stopping by for this First Friday’s Duck Day!

Wild Hearts African Farm welcomed Kinder Care of Centerville today and the younger kids had a blast meeting and learning about our animals. The tortoises, goats, and Patagonian maras brought joy to their faces, and the search for four-leaf clovers added a touch of magic to their visit. Here are some photos capturing the essence of their fun time.

Come and see Wild Hearts today at Wild Hearts Animals at Aullwood Audubon Farm's Spring Fest! We are here until 3pm, and the festival activities run until 5pm. It’s a beautiful day!

Today, we had the privilege of spreading joy and excitement at Jane Chance Elementary School in Miamisburg, where we shared a heartwarming animal program with children with disabilities. Our animals brought giggling smiles and inquisitive happiness to these special kids.

Millie has been being a great big sister to Elle while we’ve been waiting on the babies to arrive! It was like Christmas morning finding sweet little babies in the barn today. This little girl is already exploring and nibbling on hay.

BABIES! We had 4 sweet little deliveries arrive in the barn this morning! Elle the goat gave birth to 3 girls and a boy! She is being a good mom and nursing them and cuddling all of them. We helped her clean them & got weights then put them back so they have time to bond. We are in love with these little munchkins!

It was an enormous amount of hard work and effort, but we are humbled and honored to received this distinctive award in our industry! Conservation - Education - Community Wild Hearts offers unique educational programs focused on conservation to inspire and teach people how they can make a difference to help to save species and ecosystems. Through our outreach programs and personal guided tours, we believe we make our community and our world a better place! The Wild Hearts Mobile Teaching Zoo can bring the zoo to you YEAR ROUND! We offer educational programs with live animal ambassadors for libraries, birthday parties, nursing homes, schools and more. Our Mobile Teaching Zoo programs start at $225. Our schedule fills up quickly so please book your date early. We travel around the Greater Miami Valley Region of Dayton, Ohio...and sometimes beyond that!

Our Petting Zoo & Farm is available to tour by reservation only. Please visit our website and select Book Now, then choose the day/time and tour option that you would like. For field trip groups over 20, please call us at 937-416-5520 to arrange the booking. We have a comprehensive internship programs and accept interns from across the country. So far we’ve trained over 100 students who have earned over 20,000 service hours here! Apply for an entry level internship here.
