📢🙌🐾LCAS is thrilled to welcome our new shelter Medical Director and Veterinarian to the community!🩺🎉
The Lewis Clark Animal Shelter welcomes Dr. Lexi Schlamp, DVM as the New Medical Director and Veterinarian to lead their Low-Cost Spay/Neuter and Vaccine Clinic and care for the shelter animals.
The Lewis Clark Animal Shelter continues to be a dedicated community resource for animal welfare, and is excited toannounce the appointment of Dr. Lexi Schlamp, DVM as the new Medical Director and Veterinarian. Dr. Schlamp, who brings 10 years of experience in animal welfare, will lead the shelter’s low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinic, continuing the mission of providing high-quality, affordable care to pets in the Lewis Clark Valley and surrounding community.
As the new Medical Director, Dr. Schlamp will oversee all medical operations at the shelter, including managing the clinic’s daily shelter animal vet care, performing surgeries, and ensuring that each animal receives the best possible care. In addition to her expertise in surgery and preventive care, Dr. Schlamp is passionate about animal welfare and
community outreach, and is committed to making a difference.
“I’m delighted to be the new Medical Director and Veterinarian for Lewis Clark Animal Shelter. My love of animal shelter work dates back to even before vet school. I began working as a veterinary assistant at an animal shelter in Louisiana in 2015 and realized immediately that shelters were the place for me. After veterinary school, that passion
continued and I worked with more shelters in the area.” Dr. Schlamp shared.
“Every shelter I’ve had the pleasure of working with has had one thing in common - a sense of community,” says Dr. Schlamp. “You will never find people who love animals more or give more of themselves to a profession than shelter workers. In that same vein, I’m excited to be able to reopen our doors to the public to offer services like low cost vaccinations and spay/neuter services. While the surgical services will begin in the next few months, our vaccine clinic will reopen shortly. We’re excited to give back to the community that has helped support us.”
“Whether you’re looking to adopt, volunteer, receive vaccine services, or simply learn more about our work, I encourage you to stop by and meet the animals and team behind the animals. We hope to see you soon.” Dr. Lexi
Schlamp.
The shelter’s spay/neuter and vaccine clinic has been instrumental in addressing the region’s pet overpopulation and ensuring that animals remain healthy and protected from preventable diseases. Under Dr. Schlamp’s leadership, the clinic will continue to offer affordable services that support the well-being of pets and the safety of the broader community. Her strong animal welfare background and commitment to animal care make her a perfect fit for the shelter’s mission.
