Hi, my name is Courageous and I'm looking for my perfect home. I was adopted from a Border Collie breeder and my new family found out I was smart and way more puppy than they could handle. I'm 4 months old and current on my vaccinations. I have a border collie "yip" instead of a bark. I'm cautious with my fosters chickens as I don't like to be in trouble, but all other critters are fair game!! Goats, other dogs, and kids must be moved with my great herding instincts and an occasional nip, not a bite, just a nip!! Yesterday I decided to be brave enough to work on the cow..I did come back on recall( and I'm good at that) but when my foster wasn't looking, I gave it another try. I'm good! I would love a home with an older collie I could learn from and a job to work. I'm very good with my potty training and don't mind being crated at night. Bruce is such a handsome boy! A lot about Bruce is a mystery, he came to us after being abandoned by his owner. His life was living in a kennel outside. We are unsure about his age, but he is young and just a 70 pound puppy in a lot of ways. Bruce is working on his house manners, and is very eager to please his people, especially for a treat! He is incredibly smart and catches on to things very quickly. Bruce is a sensitive boy, who equally loves couch time where he will corn cob the pillows as he lays next to you, and playing outside, especially in the pool or on walks. He is still learning not to pull on the leash. He loves people, dogs, and is just so sweet and gentle. He is great with children, even when they're running around with snacks in their hand. We don't know how he is with cats. He will bark for a few minutes in his crate, but then is fine. Bruce is neutered, vaccinated, house and kennel trained. ADOPTED! Meet Ellee, a sweet 3-year-old Pomeranian weighing just 4 pounds. She is ready to find her forever person. Ellee can be shy and a little nervous at first, but once she warms up, she’s a total love bug who adores being close to her human. Ideally, Ellee would love a home with one small, gentle dog sibling, but she isn’t fond of cats. She’s still working on her potty training and doing her best! At night, she loves snuggling up in bed, making her the perfect cuddle companion. She doesn’t mind respectful children. Ellee is spayed and vaccinated. Nanook is such a nice boy!! Have you ever wanted a husky, but not really a husky? Well Nanook is the man for you! While he is all husky, he doesn’t have some of the husky traits that make them husky. He is QUIET! He doesn’t make a peep.. doesn’t bark, doesn’t whine.. He is not an escape artist. He will jump over a low fence, but he doesn’t spend his days trying to get out of wherever he is. He is just a really good boy! He LOVES water!!! He is really good with other dogs, both big and small. He needs a home with no cats or small animals (chickens, etc). He knows how to use the doggie door and goes in and out to potty. All he wants is a person to call his own. Nanook is neutered, vaccinated and house trained. Roxy is looking for a new home due to no fault of her own. Roxy was adopted from Helping Hands in January 2023. Whe is 2 years old and is a Mastiff/Lab mix. She is good with kids, friendly with cats, but will chase at first. She has not been around other dogs except those on the other side of the fence and her sister. She knows her basic commands, has outgrown the chewing stage of puppyhood, is leash trained and likes to go for walks. She is not aggressive, but will bark if someone comes to the door. She would enjoy a fenced yard. She is spayed, vaccinated, house trained (use a doggie door). Little DeeDee is 7 years old and weighs about 8 lbs. Her former life was producing puppies and living in an outside kennel. She's happy now to be inside and sleeping in bed with her foster mom (she needs stairs to get up there)! She will follow you everywhere, but won't come to you. She'll lay down and then you can pick her up and give her love. She barks at the larger dogs in her foster and at the cat. She's good with smaller dogs. ADOPTED! Cisco is a sweet little senior at 13 years old. He came into rescue after his owner went into a nursing home. He's a scared little guy and will take some time to warm up - but he will warm up!! He needs someone who will baby him and make him feel comfortable with life again. He does have a heart murmur and is on meds for it. Cisco is in a foster home with other dogs and cats. He is neutered, vaccinated, just had a dental and is house trained. Finn is a gorgeous boy! He is a one year old German shepherd that loves to snuggle and thinks he is a lap dog. He is very high energy and would love an active life. He would do well in a family with older children. Finn loves kids, but might knock over the small ones. He does well with the other dogs in his foster home, but needs gradual introduction. He is curious about cats. There are 2 in his foster home. He is doing great on his basic commands when not distracted. He is neutered, vaccinated and house trained. This gorgeous girl is Nina. She's an 8 year old doberman needing a new home. She's a very sweet girl who will do just about anything to play fetch! She is good with other dogs, kids over 5 years old, cats are unknown. She is fearful of babies! Nina would do best in a home with another dog so she can have a companion and playmate. FOSTER/ADOPTER NEEDED! Why hasn't Lufy found his home!! He is so bored being in boarding. He's an Irish wolfhound, maybe mix. His age is guessed at 6 years but we really don't know and weighs 106 lbs. He hasn't had the best of care so is a bit of a mess. He looks better every day. A lot of his skin is hairless due to allergies, but starting to show improvement. He is currently on an allergy med. With all he's been through, Lufy is just the sweetest boy. He's OK with other dogs and we think he'll be OK with cats. He's been tested with the vet clinic cat. He needs a fenced yard where he can relax and get some sun and fresh air. These puppies are the "mixed nut" litter! They are 8 weeks old and ready for their homes. There are 2 more females in the litter. We're told mamma was pit mix and daddy was GSD mix. This tall, lanky girl, was found in Orofino a few weeks ago and has been held by OPD. Her owner has not come forward. One of our fosters was contacted and we now have her in rescue. We'll get her spayed and vaccinated, then put her up for adoption. She's very sweet and friendly and happy to be out of jail.

This is everyday in rescue! Dog's are euthanized for this behavior and it's usually not their fault. Teach your kids to respect the animals. Start teaching them early! We've had dogs returned because children jumped on them while they were sleeping and the dog reacted. What did they expect!! It just takes some common sense!

This is Yona, the little Pom with deformed hind legs and 2 broken front legs that healed incorrectly. Can you tell?? She is doing so well, getting healthy and gaining strength. She's a sweet little girl with a big personality. She plays well with other small dogs and loves her toys. We are starting to look for her very special forever home. She would like a home on the quiet side with a fenced yard so she can exercise. Yona is under 1 year old and is spayed, vaccinated, mostly house trained and is kennel trained. We need fosters to bottle feed kittens. It's quite a commitment but so rewarding! This baby (Loud Larry) was found in a shed filled with trash. He was the only survivor of his litter. We were able to rescue him because we had a dedicated person that was willing to bottle feed him. He's probably 2-3 weeks old. We aren't sure how he survived! There was no mamma cat around. These two girls are Sassy and Taffy. They were two of the 22 poodles from the hoarder/breeder situation. They were adopted together and are really enjoying their new lives and freedom! They are now very spoiled little dogs! We are so happy for them. www.helpinghandsrescue.org. Lewiston, ID

Wednesday is an Anatolian shepherd/great Pyr mix who will be 2 years old in August. She loves her people and is great with other dogs and kids. She cannot be around chickens or cats/kittens. She does have a goat friend at her current home. She is a big girl and needs a large fenced yard and lots of activity. We ended 2021 with these 5 puppies being surrendered to us on 12/31. There is so much help from rescues for puppies and they shouldn't have to endure this treatment! We worry where mom is and how she is living. They were found in a box on the side of a snowy road in the Weippe area. The 6th puppy had a broken leg and is being cared for by a vet clinic. The person surrendering thought they may have just been tossed out of the car! They need a lot of socialization and scream when you try to pick them up. We have no idea on breed, guessing maybe 12-ish weeks old. We are NOT ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS at this time. They are in a loving foster home and are warm and safe. They need to be loved on and learn to trust humans. We're sure their life has not been good up to this point.
