Happy belated Halloween 👻🍭!!!

In honor of kicking November off we wanted to look back at some of our favorite memories from October! From new VIP members, emergency cases, and routine visits we have had an outstanding month with providing fear free visits for everyone 🐈🐶🐢

We thank all of you for showing support towards your veterinary team and entrusting us with the care of your pet💕

For those of you celebrating into the weekend don’t forget to practice safe holiday habbits:
-keep costumes comfortable
-chocolate and other candy ingredients are toxic
-provide a quiet and safe environment for your pet to escape to
-avoid dangerous decorations/costume pieces

Our National Vet Tech Week Rockstar of the Day is Keisha!

Keisha joined our Richmond Road team a few months ago after nearly two years caring for pets at the PetVet365 location in Brannon Crossing. She boasts several years of pet care experience in both the veterinary field and other pet care fields, and brings an unmatched level of compassion and care to our team and patients. 🥰

Not only is Keisha an incredibly quick study, absorbing everything she can to practice the best medicine possible, but she also has a special interest in pet behavior and mental health. She is truly the epitome of Fear Free, and works incredibly hard to ensure every patient coming through our doors has as stress-free of an experience as possible. She is our resident expert on canine and feline body language, and the knowledge she has to offer in regard to a pet's mental well-being is beyond amazing. Ensuring a Fear Free experience as well as fantastic medical practice for our patients and their parents is paramount to her, and we are beyond lucky to have her on our team! 💜

Time for our National Vet Tech Week Rockstar of the Day!

Meet Sela! Sela has been part of the veterinary field for 9 years, joining us here at PetVet365 as a rockstar Veterinary Assistant in December of last year! She has an intense passion for the wellbeing of our patients and is always willing to offer a helping hand in all areas of the clinic. Between her quick wit, her thirst for knowledge, and her determination to be at the top of her game in all regards, she has become an integral part of our team over the past year!

Sela shares that her favorite things about working in Veterinary Medicine are gaining the trust of a fearful patient, forming bonds with her patients and their families, getting to watch them grow from puppies/kittens to adults, and being there to support them at the end. Sela also shares that she loves having a team of like-minded weirdos and the variety that each day brings; No two days are ever the same! 🥰

Our Vet Tech Week Rockstar of the Day today is Denice!

Denice has been working in Veterinary Medicine for 25 years and is our resident Cat Whisperer. 😻 She is an amazingly talented and compassionate Veterinary Assistant who not only harness a special kind of kitty magic on the daily, but also lends her vast experience to every aspect of the clinic, whether it's wrangling our schedule, keeping our team focused, or helping out with exams and in surgery.

Denice shares that her favorite thing about working in Veterinary Medicine is knowing that she is helping, whether it be healing a pet, making sure that pet has all the things it needs to stay healthy, or just helping to end pain. And, of course, getting to cuddle and care for as many feline friends as possible. ❤️

Denice is certainly part of the backbone of our clinic, and we can't imagine getting through our days without her! 💜💜💜

Meet our Rockstars!

Jayla is celebrating her first year as an LVT during this National Veterinary Technician Week! She graduated from Morehead University's Veterinary Technology program in May of this year and passed her national board examination a few months ago!

Although newly licensed, Jayla has been learning, growing, and providing fabulous care for pets at PetVet365 for a year and a half now, joining our team here at Richmond Road just a couple of months after we opened our doors! She is driven, intelligent, compassionate, and always striving to learn and grow in her career.

Jayla shares that her favorite things about being a veterinary technician are knowing that she plays such an integral part in making pets' lives better, helping to empower pet parents through education, and being able to be there for pets and their people for their last goodbye.

We are incredibly lucky to have an amazing LVT like Jayla on our team! HAPPY VET TECH WEEK!!! 🩺💉🎉🥰

To kick off Veterinary Technician Week, we'd like to thank each and every Technician in the field for your incredibly hard work and dedication to enhancing the lives of patients and their people around the world! What you do is so important, and there aren't enough ways to say thank you for all that you do! ❤️

Understanding and navigating the veterinary experience can be intimidating and overwhelming. Each veterinary hospital may vary from another, including policies and procedures. The daily operation of a veterinary hospital requires a variety of different roles that include veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants. While the role of the veterinarian is pretty well-known to the general public, not many people are aware that much of your pet's care is handled by veterinary technicians and assistants! ☺️

A veterinary technician is a credentialed/licensed positioned that holds a degree in Veterinary Technology, has passed national and state board examinations, and holds a national license. In Kentucky, this position holds the title of LVT. In human medicine, a Registered Nurse (RN) would be a similar role to what an LVT can do in practice, though the duties of an LVT can be even more expansive and can be left up to the discretion of the overseeing veterinarian. Some of these duties may include anesthesia, venipuncture (drawing blood or intravenous injection), catheter placement, radiography, surgical assisting, dentistry, and more!

Employees that work in a clinical aspect within the hospital but have not taken and passed the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE) are Veterinary Assistants (VA). Many times, VAs may have received on the job training and have extensive technical skills, experience, and knowledge. The duties and roles of a VA within the hospital are vast, as well! Having multiple trained VAs can increase efficiency and effectiveness of both the technicians and the veterinarians.

It certainly takes a village to ensure the best health for your pet! Stay tuned as we shine the spotlight on some of the incredible LVTs and VAs at PetVet365 Richmond Road and bring awareness to their scope of practice over the coming week! 🥰

We had a blast at the Bark Bash today and made so many new four-legged (and a few three-legged 😁) friends! Our treat buffet, complete with pup cups and homemade spooky-themed doggie cookies, was a total hit! 🐾 🐶🐕 Thanks to the Lexington Humane Society for having us and to Snuggle ‘n’ Scratch Bakery for the homemade treats! ❤️

To our PetVet365 Richmond Rd. family we want to give a heads up on current road services being completed in our shopping center. Throughout the remainder of this week they have/will be sectioning off parking areas in front of our location. Please call or text us at 859-203-5004 if you have any re-routing questions.

For September 25,2024 you CAN park in front of the clinic the following map gives directions on how to get to the closest parking available otherwise please park on the right side near K-POT and Stretch Lab. If you have an extremely high FAS patient please let us know and we will accommodate accordingly!!!
