Here’s a couple GWPs getting some backing in. Short, lower tail, no problem for these two!

Also, what you can’t see is the side the dogs see. They’re backing the liver side of the silhouette, in overcast lighting, and obviously know what they’re looking at.

Trying out the new backing dog, HONOR DOGS makes a great backing decoy check them out.

Not every training session is a winner. I was having issues with my bird launcher. I went to hit it right before I called Mavis to whoa. I’m pretty confident if the bird would’ve flushed she would’ve been locked in. She was getting bored with the lack of flapping wings. This was the second mishap with pigeons for the day! I wish my bird launchers were as dependable as the Honor Dogs Backing Dummy!

One positive to take, I wasn’t sure what Mavis would think of the liver dog, and it got her attention just fine. The unique position of the silhouette wasn’t a problem either. We’ve got work to do, but really, this was her second round of backing in 5 months, so I was pleased.
