As a dog trainer it breaks my heart when I read a post like this—
“Hi, my beautiful little girl has a huge mass in her liver. We decided not to biopsy as she is a terrible mess if taken from me. This wasn’t taken lightly not to do it. Our vet agreed knowing her. 😢😢
I hate not knowing what is coming next, I struggle with this a lot ☹️. She’s my best friend and like us all I hate it that she is suffering 😢”
As a dog trainer, I UNDERSTAND the role crate training and boundaries play in shaping a dog’s confidence and mental health. Dogs thrive on structure, and teaching them to feel safe being alone can prevent separation anxiety and allow for better care when stressful situations, like vet visits, arise. Without these foundational skills, owners may face heartbreaking scenarios where their dog’s fear interferes with essential health tests or treatment.
It breaks my heart when people confuse crate training with being prisoned. By addressing these behaviors early, we can reduce their stress in times of need and make their lives—and ours—easier in the long run.
I educate owners about these principles. As a dog owner You could help prevent more situations like this in the future, ensuring dogs can live happier, healthier lives.
