Pasture 4 horses supervised the installation of the sparrow spooker over the bluebird house with 2 eggs inside. The shiny ribbons scare away sparrows that might kill the eggs or hatchlings.

The hydrant froze in pasture 4 & 5. So we bought a 200 gallon water tank, filled it at pasture 3, and parked it uphill from the troughs to let the water fill via gravity. A big thanks to our riding instructor for helping with this cold adventure!

Shrimp pushes the other horses around the hay bale and reminds each that he is the herd leader. Then he will allow them to eat.

Being a herd leader means he gets to decide who and when the others eat, but it also comes with the responsibility of looking for predators and keeping the herd safe.
