Meet the VetMedic owners.
Dr. Jami-Lyn Derse
Dr. Derse received a B.S. in Biology and Zoology from University of Wisconsin-Madison, her doctorate from Ross University of Veterinary Medicine (St. Kitts, West Indies), and did her clinical rotations at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Derse is the founder of Veterinary Housecall Care, LLC, a comprehensive home visit vet service that provides personalized and compassionate care for pets in the Chicagoland area. Prior to starting VHC, Dr. Derse dedicated her career to veterinary emergency and specialty hospitals as an emergency room clinician in Lake, Cook and McHenry Counties.

Dr. Baruch Caballero
Dr. Caballero was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He then attended the University of Florida, Gainesville for his undergraduate studies. He graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. After completing a clinical year at University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine, he and his wife (Dr. Derse) moved to the Libertyville area.

Dr. Caballero has dedicated his career to veterinary emergency and specialty hospitals as an emergency room clinician. He has practiced in both the northern suburbs and Chicago throughout the years.

VetMedic is the link between your primary care veterinarian and the 24-hour ER hospitals for cases that need urgent medical attention but are not necessarily life-threatening.
