We love Blackbeard! He’s so deserving of a home to call his own

You know who’s still waiting to be adopted? This guy.

Blackbeard has been with us for over 3 1/2 years—1,376 days, to be exact—and he would love nothing more than to finally find a loving home of his very own. Now 8 years old, this big, FIV positive tuxedo boy has really blossomed into an amazing cat during his time here at HART. He’s confident, social, affectionate, sassy, and a big ol’ snuggler who will gladly snooze on your lap for as long as you’ll let him. He does have some health issues that are readily managed with diet, medication, and periodic monitoring, and our Medical Team will be happy to review his specific needs with you. He may require a little extra care, but this fabulous kitty is so worth it! ❤️

Come on in during our adoption hours Wednesday afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 pm and allow our Adoption Team to introduce you to our cats, including Blackbeard in Room 1—you’ll be glad you did! We ask that all prospective adopters have an approved application before arriving at the shelter.

Remember Gobble? He was the orphaned kitten that was found crossing the road with a flock of turkeys. Well sweet Gobble, now Bigelow, has hit the forever home jackpot. Look at him living his best life!!

We got her!! Cornish cat #30!!

We haven’t seen any additional cats at the property, but we still have food and our camera set up to make sure nobody else shows up over the next few days.

We nabbed Cornish cat #29 and Cornish opossum #1 on Tuesday. The cat is back here at the Ranch but, even though it’s incredibly cute, we released the opossum back into the wild. Cornish cat #30 is still a work in progress. Fingers crossed we can get him in the next few days 🤞🏻

Cornish colony cats #25, 26, 27, & 28!!

We have a camera up at the site so we can get an idea of how many are left. We’ve already seen 2 this evening enjoying a snack.

Today we got cats #22, 23, and 24 from the Cornish colony! They are staying at the Ranch B&B for tonight then off to Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland in the morning. Katie- thank you so much for your help this morning!

This little Tidbit was so greasy she needed a bath. She was not impressed but decided it was all worth it when she got to snuggle with her foster dad on his heated blanket afterwards. Ahhhh….the good life 😎

We mobilized the troops and headed back to the Cornish colony today, collecting TEN more cats! That’s 21 cats from that location so far, and there are still more to go. Huge thank you to Harvest Hills Animal Shelter for taking 11 of the Cornish cats and Midcoast Humane for taking 7! 3 are still here with us at the Ranch 🥰. We will be back over at the colony again in a few days in hopes of getting more 🤞🏻

Friends of Feral Felines, Maine

Yesterday we found ourselves at a property that has been completely overrun by cats. Some friendly, some not so friendly, all quite hungry 💔. The property owners cannot keep up with feeding them all and the problem is only getting worse. Thanks to Friends of Feral Felines, Maine, we plucked a bunch (11!) by hand and brought them back to the Ranch. There are still soooo many more cats to go at that property but we will slowly work on it until it’s under control. For now, these 11 are safe, dry, warm, full and LOVED! Our New Year’s Eve will be spent deworming, bathing, brushing, cleaning out ears, and loving all these beautiful souls. Cheers 🥂
