Animal Welfare Society Community Veterinary Clinic is hosting a FREE microchip and rabies vaccine clinic for dogs and cats this Saturday, March 22 @ 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.

– Pet must be over 12 weeks of age to receive a vaccine or microchip.
– Pets may receive a microchip, a rabies vaccine, or both. Please indicate which service(s) you require when you RSVP.
– All pets must be leashed or in a secure carrier.
– To receive a 3-year rabies vaccine, you must bring your pet’s previous rabies certificate or records from a vet. Otherwise, your pet will receive a 1-year vaccine.

This microchip and rabies vaccine clinic is FREE to attend. An appointment is not required; drop ins are welcome. However, to help plan and to reduce wait times, please RSVP to select your preferred arrival time frame. Link in comments.

RSVP registration closes Friday, March 21 at noon. Drop ins are welcome on the day of, as supplies last.

This hunk needs a home! Who has room in their heart for him?

If you are looking for the most haggard, crustiest, one-eyed, battle wound covered, mostly toothless, brute of a cat…boy do we have the one for you! Barnaby is a guy that is set in his ways, but he is trying to work on his triggers. He seems threatening when you first meet him, but it’s all for show. Threatening other cats is what he had to do when he lived on the streets and had to fight for his right to eat. So when he is first approached, he hisses. This guy will hiss, and hiss, and hiss…but he is learning to adjust to his new vision, and is still stuck with a few unappealing habits from the past. We don’t blame him, we all have undesirable traits. You just have to find the people who love you and recognize you are doing your best to work on them. So, we are searching for an understanding retirement home for Barnaby. Barnaby is safe in a foster home, but his ideal home would be another quiet space in a room where he could start out small and get the lay of the land before venturing into the whole house. Barnaby prefers a larger litter box and does well with clay litter. His ideal home would be able to accommodate multiple litter boxes. He can be dog tested if it would be helpful. We don’t really know his age, it’s a guess as he is FIV+ . His mouth couldn’t give any helpful pointers as it was so infected and he needed almost all of his teeth removed. Barnaby likes wet food and would prefer his future home keep him on that. He is loving and will purr, but he often gets a little overwhelmed after a while and needs a break. Shadows can still be triggering for him around his face, but he has definitely continued to improve. We have high hopes for how far he can come with his future home. Our HART of Maine fosters had their checkups at PVESC this week. Charlie helped answer the phones while Maxie plotted her escape and world domination. We sure do adore these two!!

Holy moly where has the time gone?! We are a bit behind this year on putting out our wishlists in preparation for baby season. It will be here SOON!! 🙀 And this baby season is going to be extra special because we are now a permitted wildlife rehab working under S**o River Wildlife Center and will be welcoming some of their tiny patients here this year!! 🦝🐿️🐭 🦨 🐀 🦇

Meet Pinecone!!
Pinecone is a little on the shy side so will need some time to warm up to a new home and people. But she loves attention and to be petted. Getting better at being picked up. 🙂
She’s great with other cats and she LOVES dogs!! She would love nothing better than to buddy up with a calm, friendly dog!
Older kids who respect her space would be good also.
