Winter has officially arrived.!!! In light of the inclement weather, with additional snowfall predicted and blowing and drifting warnings in effect until Monday afternoon, we will be closed on Monday, January 6. The safety of our staff and clients is our top priority, and we are heeding the advice of the Illinois State Police to avoid travel. Our office will reopen on Tuesday, January 7 at 8:00 a.m. Please exercise caution and stay warm. We encourage you to share photos of your canine and feline companions enjoying the snow, your snowman creations, or simply enjoying time on the couch snuggling with your furry friends!

Happy Friday. Due to the predicted winter storm forecasted for this weekend, there is a possibility that we will be closed on Monday. To prepare, please ensure you have sufficient food and medication for your pets to last through at least Tuesday. If you need medication, please call in and we will facilitate pickup before our closure tonight at 5:30. Wishing you a safe and warm winter season. Please be mindful of your pets' exposure to the cold, as frostbite can occur rapidly.  if you have outdoor pets, ensure they have shelter and bedding that is not allowed to get wet as this will make them even colder. And outdoor water will freeze quickly, so please change your outdoor pets’ water frequently . But please, if at all possible, please bring outdoor pets inside especially as the snow storm moves in and the temperatures plummet. Also, if you have outdoor cats, please hit the hood of your vehicles and check underneath them prior to starting them. Cats will often climb up in under hoods and such looking for shelter. Be safe everyone!!!! And let’s hope the forecast is wrong!!!!!

Can you believe that Christmas is next week??? My how this year has flown by!!! We hope that you are all doing well and wish you a very happy holiday.

Our holiday hours are as follows:

December 24, closing at 12 p.m.

Closed December 25, 26, 27

Open Monday, December 30, 8 - 5:30

Open Tuesday, December 31, 8 - 5:30

Closed Wednesday, January 1

Open Thursday, January 2

Please get your medication and food refill requests in early so that you do not run out while we are closed.

Happy Friday!!!!! We will be closed next Thursday, November 28, and Friday, November 29 for Thanksgiving. Please make sure you get your medication and food refill requests in before noon on Tuesday, November 26 to give us time to get your requests filled and ready for pick up before we close at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27.
We will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 2.
We are so very thankful for our amazing clients and their wonderful furry family members that we are blessed to care for. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

October is breast cancer awareness month. It is about loving and supporting those going through this terrible disease. It is about honoring and remembering those who we have lost. It is about educating and standing by those yet to be diagnosed. Many of you don’t know this but Dr . Miller fought this terrible battle and is blessed to still be here today. She believes no one should feel alone or fight this fight without someone beside them. She encourages anyone who needs someone to talk to, someone to be in their corner, to reach out to her.

The U of IL vet school open house is coming up!!!! It is free to attend and so much fun! Kids of all ages have a blast! You can see what it’s like inside a veterinary school, pet animals, look into microscopes, and even milk a cow!!!! My kids and their friends have loved it since they were little! If your kid or someone you know might be considering applying to vet school, GO! If you just love animals and wanna see some, GO!!!

We hope you are all doing your best to stay cool! Please keep your pets indoors and out of the heat!!! Remember to ensure those that must be outside have water at all times and change it frequently, as it heats up quick and hot water is not refreshing! Also please ensure they have shade and a cool place to get into. Also remember to check the flooring, surfaces they are on as concrete and asphalt will be boiling hot and will burn their feet.
Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are serious and often fatal. Protect yourself and your furry friends as the summer weather is going out on a very high note.
