🦷 This sweet pup was in for a Level Three Dental, meaning she received a full-mouth cleaning as well as full-mouth radiographs and up to an hour of dental extraction time. She now has fresh breath and healthy teeth!

🐈 How cute is Lyla?! 🐈

Lyla’s owner found her outside without a home. Because of this, she didn’t have background medical information, so we first tested Lyla for FIV/FeLV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus & Feline Leukemia Virus). It is crucial test your cats for these diseases, especially if they will interact with other cats. Here are a few things to know:

🩺 FeLV and FIV are diseases that can be transmitted from cat to cat. FIV is primarily transmitted via cat bite, whereas FeLV is transmitted via bodily fluid including saliva and urine.

🩸 To test for FIV/FeLV, we extract a small blood sample and run the test in-house. Results are ready within 10 minutes, meaning you will know before you leave the clinic!

💉 We offer a yearly Feline Leukemia vaccine which can help prevent your cats from contracting FeLV. Unfortunately, there are currently no vaccines to help prevent against FIV.

📣 Are you on the fence about microchipping your pet? The facts below could help you decide to move forward!

🐕 We hope your pet is never lost, but if they do make it outside unattended, a microchip will identify you as the owner!

🐈 Inserting a microchip is super quick and easy! It is similar to receiving a vaccine, meaning the process can be done at any time. No need for pets to go under anesthesia. And don't worry, we shower your pet with yummy treats, they usually don't even know they’re receiving the microchip most of the time! 🦴

🐾 Microchips are NOT a tracking device! Each microchip has its own individual number that is scannable by a vet clinic or animal shelter, and then looked up in a national microchip registry. It is important to make sure your information is current with the microchip company in case your pet ever goes missing.

🩺 Q: Do you offer any other surgeries besides spay and neuter surgeries?

A: Yes! We offer dental procedures! We require a pre-dental check before we can schedule dental cleanings and extractions.

🐕 Q: Do you accept vouchers for spay and neuter surgeries?

A: We absolutely do! We accept vouchers from both Lincoln Animal Ambassadors and Lincoln Animal Control.

❄️ Winter is here and temperatures are dropping! ❄️

Here are a few tips to keep your pets safe and warm in the freezing weather!

❄️ Sweaters and dog coats are a great way to keep your pets warm when going for walks in the winter months!

❄️ Make sure to give your pets a good wipe down after coming home from a winter walk. This will keep them dry, warm, and comfortable after walking in the snow!

❄️ Protect your pets' feet! It's possible that your pet walked through chemicals such as ice-melt. Wiping off your pets' paws helps to remove unwanted chemicals. Dog booties are a great option to keep your dog's paws dry and warm when going outside.

Remember, if it's too cold outside for you, it's too cold outside for them. Thank you for keeping them safe and warm! ♨️
