Today Virgie and I are on a road trip. Buy the end of they day I will have traveled over 500 miles. We first went west a couple hours to pick up an AI straw of 4x GRHRCH Profield's King of the Hill MH HOF. We are so grateful our friends at Profield Kennels continue to help us on our life's journey.

Then we will head to Hillcrest Animal Clinic outside Lincoln to drop Virgie and the Hank straw off so they can be bred in the next week or so. Im very excited for puppies again. Im especially excited for such a special litter. You will be hard pressed to find a better pedigree. There will be blacks and yellows. These pups will lack no drive. They will have a great off switch and could be the most affectionate dogs known to man.

Argo and I found a rooster this morning. He put on one of the best hunts to get this bird up. Then some how I actually put it down with my shot. I love hunting over this guy so much. Even though hes not really "trained" for upland he does a great job and gets better with each bird.

These 3 are ready for fall weather to get here. Yesterday Argo went in for his yearly check up. They said he looked fantastic! 81lbs of retrieving machine.

Ronnie checked in at 54lbs. I honestly thought he would be more than that. Im so happy woth how his litter turned out. They all look amazing and have been progressing well with training. Ronnie is through collar conditioning. He is starting forced fetch now. He is coming along great. Most of the time learns after only 1 or 2 corrections.

Virgie mom is right where we like her at 50lbs. She should be coming into heat any day now and we will be pairing her with Hank from Profield Kennels .

Hank was a 4 time Grand Hunting Retriever Champion and is in the HRC Hall of Fame. Hank also had his Upland Hunter title and was a Master Hunter in the AKC. Hank is also 7th on the top 10 list for current UKC producing sires. I had the pleasure to train with Hank before he passed and I currently hunt and train with several of his offspring they are all phenomenal hunting partners and pets.
We are very excited for this litter and have a list started but have some remaining spots.
Next weekend as long as Virgie isn't in heat I will be taking her and Argo to the Nebrask Dog and Hunt Club to run in the owner handler Q. Then our focus will switch to hunting for the next few months.

This weekend the Yellows and I will be joining our friends from Elkhorn Valley Hunting Retriever Club at Ponca State Park for the Missouri River Outdoor Expo. Its the largest outdoor expo there is. Super fund time with lots to do. Here is a link with all the details.

Big yellow had fun getting a mouth full of dove feathers this morning. He got in a fight with a fence going after one and cut his face up a little but he's ready to go back out this afternoon!
