This might get me in trouble, but don't let the internet, movies, and shows make training a mustang seem magical. Highly rewarding? Educational? Hard work? dangerous? An incredible experience? YES!
A magical experience that always has a beautiful outcome? NO...
I don't discourage people from trying it. I do, however, make sure they know the reality and commitment of it. As well as encourage them to work with a trainer throughout the process. From selecting the mustang to starting them and beyond.
And remember, green on green (more often than not) makes black and blue😉

And with the addition of my new camera, I don’t think I’ll even take my eyes off him.

Thank you all for the support and prayers. It truly means the world to me ❤️ I’ll probably make a longer post about everything soon, but for now I’m going to focus on recovering mentally 😮‍💨

We’ve seen some encouraging progress with Caspian today, praise the Lord. His pain appears to be better controlled since starting a lidocaine drip. His appetite has picked up, and he’s passed manure several times. He’s still not out of the woods, but the improvement is a relief. He has a long road ahead, but I’m cautiously optimistic. Please continue to pray for him.

Since Caspian is being taken care of by a great team of vets, life goes on at home.

This handsome mustang arrived this week and started his training Monday afternoon. I’m looking forward to this guy’s progress. His owners have done a great job getting him started. Now it’s my job to build his confidence and advance him under saddle.

Caspian update

Thanks for all the prayer and to everyone who has reached out to me.
Caspian started colicing Sunday evening and has been with the vet since Monday morning.
He is still uncomfortable at times but seems to be doing well all things considered. Hoping and praying he can come home tomorrow.
