the muscles...releasing tension...relaxing muscles. Stimulates circulation by: defrosting frozen muscles, thereby releasing endorphins - the body's natural pain killers. Hello all!
It's been awhile since I've posted. I will be happy to start offering Equine Nutrition Consultation services in 2023 with our new staff, Joey!
We will be offering a few deeply discounted consultations starting in November! If you're interested in learning more about this service and chatting with Joey and I about your nutrition needs going into winter, (do you really need all the supplements?) , Comment or send me a PM for more info ! We can arrange some bodywork and nutrition sessions for 2023 in person, as well as virtual nutrition Consultation.
Pic of the newest horse on the farm that I purchased because she reminded me of my first pony, and the massage business muse.
Also, a shameless pic of my tiny girl who is a big part of why things have been quiet around this page.

If you want help assessing your horse, we can help!
: Being able to assess your equine friend's weight and body condition is a valuable skill, especially as we head into the colder months. A horse with good body weight will fare better in winter weather than a horse on the skinny side, particularly if it’s an older horse.
The Henneke Body Condition Scoring Chart is an important tool that provides a standard scoring system by rating the horse's physical condition on visual appraisal and palpation (feel) of six key conformation points: the amount of flesh or fat covering along the neck; the withers; down the crease of the back; at the tailhead; ribs: and behind the shoulder at the girth.
A body condition score of somewhere between 4 and 6 is ideal for most horses. However, keep in mind that in some disciplines (like racing, polo and eventing) and some life stages (like pregnancy) a higher or lower body score might be more appropriate.
If you think your horse is too fat or too thin (or even if you are unsure), have a chat with your veterinarian to discuss the appropriate condition and a feeding and exercise program for your animal!

My story: As a young rider I had a really stellar pony, Second Star, who was having some performance issues and we were able to find answers with some body work. I started to think about the value in this as a young horsewoman, and during college obtained my Equissage certification with the intention to work only on my own horses. That grew into working on friends, and friends-of-friends horses, soon becoming a business.
As business grew, and my interest got deeper, so did the need for more answers! I am always seeking knowledge about horses, biomechanics, farrier care, saddle fit, and generally just wanting MORE in my toolbox. So in 2016, I signed up for a Equinology Course in California and spent 2 weeks learning more there. I am always learning and studying.
Thanks for your interest and support. Free to ask any questions you might have!
