HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT SUSAN!

The Black Mafia, Mike, Margo and I, all want to wish Aunt Susan a very happy birthday.

We also want to tell you of all the good Aunt Susan does for the cat community here. She is one of a kind.

Aunt Susan manages most of the FuRR cat colonies here in Central AR and believe me there are a lot. She makes sure all these animals have medical care when needed and when they get too old or sick to be in their colony anymore, she tries to find retirement homes for them. She feeds many of these colonies herself and/or manages the other colony feeders. Most of the colonies she takes care of know her by voice or sight and will come running to greet her when she arrives with food, water and new shelter. This is via rain, shine or sickness. If her car is down, she will rent one to make sure all the cats/kittens are fed.

Aunt Susan also traps in many of these colonies and will sit for hours waiting to capture a feral cat so he/she can be altered and have a better life.

Aunt Susan is a treasure to all the feral cats in Central AR and we just wanted everyone to know how hard she works to take care of our brethren.

Please wish Aunt Susan a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Well, it is just before sunset and two of the Black Mafia (Briar and Patch) I are watching all the wild life through Mom's bedroom window.

Lots to see. We even have an owl living somewhere in our trees.

Mom and baby possum come out each night along with the bats and bunnies.

Mom makes sure all the critters in the yard have food and water each day.

This is better than Dr. Pol on TV!

Well, it is the 4th of July, again and very hot outside. Mike and I want to wish you all the very best July 4th ever! We hope all our friends, family and followers are well and happy!

On this very hot day, please make sure all humans and furry ones have a cool place to stay during the heat of the day and lots of cool water. Also, please make sure everyone that has fear of fireworks and festivities are inside and get lots of love.

Meet our precious colony kitty, Willow. She will turn 13 this year! Her mom was fed in an alley ...and then a wonderful young couple moved in close by and welcomed Spicy Mama and her family onto their property. They were then fed twice a day on the porch and were provided with warmed shelters for winter. We provide lifetime medical care for all our colony cats. When Willow disappeared for a few days and was found weak, lethargic and I'll she was coaxed into the house. Even though weak Willow showed her feral side and it took four people to get her in a crate. She saw one of our vets the very next morning. After treatment for dehydration and an infection she was watched for several days to make sure she was eating well and feeling good. She was released back at her colony and was soon back to sleeping on the porch and meowing for breakfast!

As we come to the end of Busterback Day for the 7th time we'd like to thank all Buster's friends who have loved him and the whole Orange Mafia for so many years and supported them. So many changes have happened in his life in the last 7 years but Buster just rolls with the punches and remains the same sweet, gentle, kind loving boy we all care about so much! By this time tonight he's likely curled up sound asleep in Mom Stacy's arms. Wishing sweet dreams to them and to you, our friends.

Happy 7th Annual Busterback Day! This is our favorite holiday and the day Buster finally was reunited with his mom and family after 65 long days. Mom Moira had seen Buster the evening before, thanks to "the Donnas" who had alerted her that the cat they were seeing in a nearby yard was surely Buster. And it was! Much as she had hated to leave him there the previous night they decided the best way to catch him was to gather in the yard again with carrier, food and treats. Sure enough Buster returned to the yard but he still wouldn't come to mom when called. He'd resorted to feral-type behavior to survive and he wasn't ready to walk right up to anyone. Out came the treat bag and Buster was interested. He came close enough to one of the Donnas that she was able to grab him and push him into a carrier. It began to come apart but they held it together and rushed into the house, quickly closing all the doors out of the kitchen, which was the room they were in with Buster. And just like that 65 days of worry and sadness, and fear that Buster might never make it home, were over and Buster was back in his mom's arms. What a joyful end to this ordeal which could easily have turned out so very differently!

Hi! It’s me Buster…

I have finally calmed down enough and forgiven Mom to post again. I do apologize to all my friends and fans for not posting on Memorial Day.

I always want to remember those who have given all to this country, as well as, Mom Moira and Dad Johnny, Huck, Harry and all my other friends/family that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Now let me explain what happened…

On Tuesday, May 21. Mom took me to see Dr. Cole again to follow up on my teeth pulling and to see if my stomatitis had improved. But, Mom tricked me! She asked Dr. Cole to also look at my butt and determine why I was losing my hair around my tail and why I was not cleaning myself. (Those things are private! I don’t need anyone looking at my business!) Well, Dr. Cole did look and decided my a**l glands needed expressing. I screamed bloody murder! It was said I could be heard all the way into the parking lot! It hurt! Dr. Cole said laughing, that my glands were as bad as any dog! How could he compare me to a dog?!

I’ve been so mad at Mom, that I would not sleep with her, sit in her lap or cooperate with her to get my medicines. She just had to pay! That also mean’t that I would not dictate to her for posting on FB. For that I apologize to you all.

I’m much better now, and I will try not to be such a stinker in the future.

I do hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and relished in the memories of their loved ones.

Summer is officially here now. I hope everyone is ready to enjoy it.

Sometimes TNR can mean Tried, No Results! Fluffy Joe was munching on sardines, carefully avoiding the trip plate. Another cat next to the trap didn't bother him but then up came a raccoon who was looking for a sardine treat and Fluffy Joe backed out and ran off, still somehow avoiding tripping the trap! He will be back to eat and we will be back to trap!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Mike and I want to wish all mother's human, furry and human that are mother's to furry a very Happy Mother's Day!

We went amongst the most beautiful flowers in Mom's garden this year to make this post special to all.

Mom Stacy has been working hard in our wild kingdom outside to keep us entertained with flowers and wild life. Yesterday she found a bat in the patio umbrella. Unfortunately it flew away before she could get a photo. However, it did not go far, so... We now have a possum, lots of squirrels, rabbits, a bat, snakes, and a turtle or two. 🤣

So, welcome to the wild kingdom!

Well, I know these photos are not the best of me, but I'm watching over Mom and her nest of baby bunnies outside my bedroom window.

They are the cutest little things. The photos show the babies, but they are really hard to see with the grey skies, dirty windows and screens. (Mom Stacy, could not get the window washers to come until July this year. 😠)

Can you spot the babies...? They are to the right in the photos.

I sure hope Mom Bunny keeps coming back here to have more babies. The Black Mafia and I will watch over them and Huck (the dog) will keep away all other dangers when he goes outside. (Yes, Huck could care less about other furry things unless it is another dog in his territory. 🤣)

Hi! It's me, Buster. Let's talk about toofs. MY toofs!. Mama Stacy told me my breath no longer smelled like roses and honeysuckle. I offered to wear my pandemic mask but instead she took me to see Dr. Cole. He found 5 rotten toofies that need to come out including molars. As you can see I can open my mouth really wide even though I'm getting older. You know I'll be 14 in September. But Dr. Cole said I'd better have dental surgery and be anesthesized. Eek! The big day was April 15 and now I'm fine. My breath now smells like kittens and puppies, so I'm doing ok. However, I do have now have stomatitis so Mom is going to have to make sure my toofs are properly cared for every day.

I guess this is what getting old is like. More trips to see Dr. Cole. Yikes!
