I have had the joy and pleasure of having over 100 foster greyhounds come through my home over the years and on to their forever homes. Along the way, four became part my family. Sadly they have all now crossed over Rainbow Bridge and I find my home feels empty without four paws following me around. While a foster parent, I had many opportunities to care and work with what we called "Special Needs
" dogs. These were dogs that were either recovering from broken leg surgeries & various other medical treatments, anxious and shy dogs we lovingly called "Spooks", seniors, and some with separation anxiety. I have the experience and patience to work with all the needs of your Kidz, special or not. Additionally, I have ramps to assist older dogs, elevated food/water stands, and also a "Help 'em Up Harness", a wonderful comfortable way to aid seniors or those in recovery, up and down stairs or during walks. Personally, I have dealt with my own "Kidz" special needs.... Osteosarcomas, Leg Amputation, Chemo Therapy, Pancreatitis, Inflammatory Bowel Disorder, and even partial paralysis and parethesia in my last boy. I went to every length available to provide the best of care, love and attention for my "Kidz" and will do no less for yours! I want your precious pet to experience an easy, comfortable transition from your home to their "Home away from Home". I am a retired Dental Hygienist looking to fill my time and home with activities that I love and caring for your pet would be high on my list! My home is lovingly referred to as "The Doghouse". Plenty of dog beds to choose from and even the master-bed is open to share if that is what your pet is most comfortable with while you're away. My yard is completely fenced and locked, with grass and paw friendly mulch and pea gravel. No metal edging to cut paws! I live on a street with no drive through traffic. Best of all, there are two parks, three schools and Jeffco Open Space trails within walking distance of my home. One park is located just at the end of my street and another 3/4 of a mile away with a lake! Should you like, I also have all passes and tags required to take them to Chatfield to enjoy the dog park, and can transport them safely and comfortably in my Subaru. Aside from routine errands and brief personal activities, your loved one will rarely be left alone. However, it bares mentioning, on an individual basis, depending on your pet and their demeanor, I may require kenneling when I am away from home or overnight. It has been my experience that leather couches make great chew toys for those with anxiety! :-) Once your pup is more comfortable with their temporary home, this may no longer have to be the case. When we meet, we can discuss what would work best for your "Kidz". It would be a great pleasure to set up a time to meet you and your Kid(z). Get to know me and discover a loving "Home Away From Home". I would consider it an honor to be charged with their care.
