Kaylee Ann is my Service Dog (Follow her here: https://www.facebook.com/KayleeAnnServiceDog) and I’ve had her since she was a pup. Recently I became ailed with multiple chronic illnesses, all of which are invisible. I have a form of Dysautonomia called POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), which basically means my blood pressure and my heart rate aren’t like a normal person and causes
me to black out or faint while standing or raising my hands above my head. Orthostatic Intolerance, my blood pressure drops drastically after standing, also causing me to black out or faint. Gastroparesis (GP), which is paralyzed stomach and digestive tract muscles. PTSD from multiple traumas, which causes me to not be able to breathe properly and have panic attacks and become dis-associative to the world around me. That goes hand in hand with the PTSD and is harder to explain. Long story short, I can’t be around a lot of people and I have a really hard time talking to people. Right now I’m also looking into possible EDS (Elhers-Danlos Syndrome) and CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). Kaylee is trained to help support me while I walk and brace when I get dizzy and black out. She stands over me while I lay on the ground. She’s also in the process of learning how to alert to my syncope episodes. If I ever get put on medication because of POTS or GP she will learn how to fetch it for me if I’m unable to do it myself. During a panic attack she provides deep pressure therapy to help me calm down faster. When I start to dis-associate she will nudge my hand to bring me back to reality. She is still learning crowd buffering, keeping people from getting too close to me and triggering my PTSD and panic attacks. I depend on her to be able to live a normal life; I can’t even go out to a store on my own because of the possibility of fainting being there constantly. She has given me my independence back. However, I’m unable to work a normal job, so I didn’t have a choice. During this time I realized I could sell my knitting. Blankets and scarves are my main projects, but I’m still learning other things. It’s something I can do, and enjoy, while helping to support myself and my girl. After starting it all up, it’s taken off much better than I could have ever expected. Kaylee Clicks has a page, with photos of projects and updates about Kaylee and myself along with contact information. I’m on many social network sites to get the word around. UPDATE: There is a new Admin and she crochets!! Here is her Bio!! Im Allison
I live in ontario canada. I am currently in school for early childhood education. I am planing on continuing on when I graduate in april to specialize in working with special needs. My goal is to become an advocate for children who slip through the cracks. I would like to see those children excel and love to learn again. I love crocheting! These are only a few pictures of my work. I will try to get more up. :)
