Fun fact! we use about 250 p**p bags each day in daycare. 💩💩💩 💩💩💩 💩💩💩♾️
Amazing right?! Thank you to everybody who donates their used grocery bags to us. We truly appreciate it. For the thousands of other bags that we use per year we have recently switched to biodegradable bags that will disintegrate in time and not leave loads of extra plastic wherever they may end up. ♻️🌎
We are doing our best to leave good footprints.

My sweet foster dog is on the adoption roster and ready to find her forever home. You might recognize her as the rescue that we have set up the raffle for. She is a kind and gentle dog who gets along beautifully with everybody she meets. She would love to find a home with a kindred spirit with that same energy. I’m sure most of you have noticed some changes on our Pawcific Heights cameras over the past few weeks. We’ve been doing a trial to create a more customized experience for our guests.

By dividing our largest group in half, we are able to create more harmonious play for everyone.

Since covid happened, and changed so many things in the world, it became apparent that it wasn’t only for the humans. A lot of dogs seemed less comfortable with the large groups, and forced social interactions.

By making this change we are able to match together like minded dogs, who enjoy each other’s company. Similarly, if we have a dog that is struggling, we can switch groups and eliminate the need for unnecessary “time out” breaks.

The other great change, is that we are able to spend much more one on one time with all of our guests, which they are really enjoying!

A pawrent asked me this week how things are going, and the answer is a resounding GREAT! The dogs are thriving, and we think this change is here to stay!

The other question I’ve been asked is about outdoor time. Rest assured, both groups still get plenty of outdoor play in the full outdoor yard. We realize that you can’t see the full set up on camera, so we wanted to show you how the back half of the room gets outside.

Just look at these happy, well mannered pups coming inside after some zoomies!

📢 Announcing Our Monthly Raffle for Rescue! 🐾

At 4LF, we believe in giving every dog a chance at a wonderful life, and we're excited to introduce a special initiative to support the amazing rescues that make this possible.

🌟 Monthly Raffle for Rescue 🌟

Each month, we will highlight a 4LF dog who has found their forever home, thanks to the incredible efforts of rescue organizations and the loving families who adopt them. To celebrate these heartwarming stories, we are hosting a monthly raffle!

🎁 Raffle Details:

Raffle Basket Prize: A fantastic basket filled with goodies for both pets and pet parents.
Tickets: $1 each
How to Enter: Purchase raffle tickets throughout the month.
Winner Announcement: At the end of each month, we'll draw a winner who will receive the raffle basket.
Proceeds: Every dollar raised from ticket sales will go directly to the rescue that stepped in to save the featured dog.

We are kicking off our first month with Valentine, who was just rescued by Project Hope Animal Rescue and is being fostered by Jen! While she hasn't been officially adopted yet, we would love to raise funds for this wonderful rescue. Project Hope focuses on special needs and senior dogs from overfilled high-kill shelters in the south, where dogs have little chance of making it out alive otherwise. Valentine was brought in as a stray and is likely a distemper survivor, as she shows signs of a common neurological issue that distemper leaves behind for those lucky enough to survive it. Given all she has gone through, this girl is happy and on her way to a great new beginning!

We’re still having a few technical issues! Please bear with us! Our internet isn’t back up and running and some of our power seems to be affected by a brown out.

Overall it’s business as usual now, but communication is still a bit tricky!

Please rest assured that all of our lodging guests are safe and happy (and cool)

✨✨POWER HAS BEEN RESTORED✨✨
We are currently without power! Our generator was doing a great job until the early hours of this morning. Electricians are on the way, so we are hoping to have everything operational again soon!

Until then:
* Our phones and cameras are down.
* We have access to emails, but response times may be much slower.
* We are accepting lodging guests as normal.
* We currently don’t have an ideal environment for daycare dogs, but can still accept them if you are in need.

As soon as power is returned, we will let you know!

✨UPDATE✨
Snoopy was found 30 minutes from home, lying in a field of purple flowers. He came running to his owners when they arrived for him. 🥹 Thank you to everybody who cared and shared. There is nothing more devastating than losing your best friend. So happy this was the ending we were rooting for. ❤️❤️

We know someone who is missing their best friend. 😢
If you or anyone you know heads into the Corktown/Southwest area, please keep a look out and share for this guy. His humans desperately want him back home.

Following on from last nights rare mythological sighting - have you ever heard of this one? An obedient chocolate lab??

Definitely a rare sighting at 4LF, but with the help of Corinne, Thomas is taking a quick break from his normal zooming, and practicing “place” , “sit” AND “wait”

We love nothing more than seeing our dogs excel, while still having fun! Great work Thomas, we are so proud of you 🩷

Cerberus was said to be a 3 headed watchdog of the underworld! I don’t know about that, but Teddy, Copper & Mocha sure look like a 3 headed chocolate lab watching over their buddies in Hollywoof!
