MONSTERS EXIST——Meet 8.5 pound Emma- SHE IS FIGHTING FOR HER LIFE!!!!! Allegedly, her owner’s boyfriend kicked her multiple times, resulting in significant head trauma, a broken eyesocket, double eye injuries, a broken rib, and contusions to her liver and bladder. A police report has been filed in Travis County where this occurred. The owner surrendered her to Emma is an of Her chance of survival is bleak. We could not ignore this horrific cowardly injustice. We are pursuing criminal charges to the fullest extent of the law. We will advocate for her as long as there is hope for her survival. October is Domestic Violence Month.

Truth— has spent a lot of our funds as of late on community needs. We seldom ask for help but we really need your help now. Just a few days ago we facilitated the rescue of 100 animals in the city of Lockhart with zero funding. Also this week, we had a dog that required a $4000 surgery. In the past three years we have facilitated over 1500 low-cost sterilization of dogs and cats in Caldwell County. Any amount is greatly appreciated and desperately needed.

She is just over a year old and is such a lovely kindhearted soul. Her life will be greatly improved by saving her leg verses amputation.

Introducing sweet, gentle Natalie, Nattie. She is nearly six months old and ended up at the Lockhart Animal Shelter with a severely multiple fractured elbow as well as malnourished. On intake 9/3 she weighed 16 pounds. As of 9/16 she was up to 24 pounds. Nattie’s elbow is not fixable. She has an appointment on Friday to see Dr. Allman for evaluation in hope that removing fragments will reduce her pain and allow her to keep her leg. We have and continue to have some fairly large vet bills lately and would be grateful for donations of any amount.

#GivingTuesday #CCACtx #WeNeedYou This Giving Tuesday, Make a Difference with Caldwell County Animal Coalition (CCAC) We know there are countless deserving nonprofit organizations vying for your support this Giving Tuesday. Today, we ask you to consider donating to Caldwell County Animal Coalition, CCAC. We dedicated to improving animal welfare in our community. Not only do we rescue and rehabilitate dogs and cats in desperate situations, but we also host low-cost sterilization clinics, serving Caldwell County and its surrounding areas. We help owners to be proactive in reducing the overpopulation of pets on the street and in the shelter. We are nearing 2000th sterilization! Our work saves lives— lives that often have no chance of survival without intervention. Take Emma’s story, for example. Emma, a nine-pound dog, was a victim of outrageous domestic violence. She was beaten, thrown, kicked, and stomped on, leaving her with severe injuries, including a brain injury, fractured eye orbit, and swollen-shut eyes. Her prognosis was grim, but we refused to give up. We pressed charges against her abuser and partnered with the compassionate veterinarians at Violet Crown Emergency Veterinary Clinic. Against all odds, Emma survived. Then there was the call about a hoarding situation involving over 100 Chihuahuas. We quickly mobilized and recruited 15 rescue partners to assist. Together, in just two days, every single dog was placed in safe, loving care. CCAC personally took in 13 of them. It was an extraordinary labor of love, made possible by our fellow rescuers, community and supporters like you. Your donation helps us continue this lifesaving work. Whether it’s giving a second chance to a small dog like Emma, tackling massive rescue efforts, or providing low-cost veterinary services, your support makes it possible. Natalie had a great visit with Dr. Allman. She made a new friend. The consensus with both veterinarians Dr. Garriot and Dr. Allman, is that it is likely Natalie should not need surgery at least not at this point.
