We want to thank everyone who attended our 1st ever Poker Rider yesterday! Now that we have had a chance to document everyone's hands, we want to congratulate our winners!

1st Place is Amy L. with a full house!

3rd Place is Debb P. with 2 pair (Aces/Threes)

Thank you to everyone who came out to volunteer or ride! We are currently working on dates for our Spring/Summer and Fall rides for the 2024 year.

Our Spring/Summer ride will be planned as an afternoon ride with dinner, music and drinks at Wilderness Run Vineyards and 1781 Brewing Company. Both ride and dinner tickets will be available. Overnight trailer parking will be available for a limited number of trailers.

Our Fall 2024 ride will be our 2nd annual Poker Ride!

On this $5 Friday, we wanted to extend a THANK YOU to everyone who has contributed towards Rita's care since her arrival with CVHR in June. Rita came to us with unexplained weight loss and chronic abscesses in all 4 hooves.

Because of your support, Rita was able to get treatment for her ulcers which aided her weight gain and farrier care that has promoted healthy healing of her hooves.

Rita's weight and hooves have stabilized enough for her to begin training with our on farm training team towards a new career. Your support of horses like Rita is crucial to their rehabilitation and recovery. Every $5 donation made goes to provide care to Rita or horses like Rita that would not have a place to turn without your support.

We are thrilled to announce the **Fall Central Virginia Horse Rescue Fall Poker Ride Trail Ride** happening soon at the beautiful WRV Equestrian Center! This event is a fantastic opportunity for riding enthusiasts to come together, enjoy a delightful fall day on horseback, and contribute to a significant cause.

🚩 **Event Details:**
* **Location:** WRV Equestrian Center
* **Trail Ride Length:** An enjoyable 5.5 miles of breathtaking scenery and tranquil trails
* **Ticket Price:** $60 per rider (a portion of the proceeds will support the Central Virginia Horse Rescue initiatives)

* Every rider will receive a complimentary event T-shirt

The trail rides that end with a swim are only here for a limited time, BYOH or use one of ours before the heat is gone! Our traditional, guided trail rides continue year round. 🤗

Swimming season is only here while the heat is, come join us for a swim on one of our horses or BYOH! 🤿

*this is a reminder that swimming is ONLY for riders that have experience ba****ck and are comfortable walking and trotting ba****ck. The whole, hour long trail ride pre-swim is ba****ck. *swimming is an ADDITION to a trail ride, not at all a requirement! Extending the hour for swimming is an additional fee.
*trail rides (non swimming!) are for ages 10+, no experience necessary. Trail rides are an hour long.
*trail rides on our horses & BYOH rides are all guided.
