❗️Donations Needed ❗️

As we head into the cold months of winter, please consider donating a box or two of hand warmers to the hard working dog staff at CCHS.

Staff comes to the shelter 7 days a week, in rain, snow, and ice. We currently house 27 dogs at the shelter and all of them receive mulitple, daily walks and play time outside while staff stands outside with them!

Hand warmers have been added to our shopping list this season, but if you are out and see these on the shelves, stop and grab some for CCHS staff to help them stay warm while we care for lost and abandoned dogs of Cass County!

Our address is 700 Water Street. Donations can be dropped off at any time by the front door up the ramp or stop in and see us during open hours from 12 to 5 Tuesday - Saturday and 12 - 7 on Monday!

Peanut is a 45 pound, male, 1 year old, shepherd/retriever mix who came to the shelter as a stray this fall. We cannot BELIEVE this amazing boy is still here at the shelter. Peanut loves:

🐕ANY dog he meets
❤️ people..any kind and every age
🙌playing outside
🚘car rides

Peanut is our go to guy for adoption events and for any social outing because he is just that friendly! He has visited Miller's Merry Manor and was so gentle and kind to all of the residents. He is such an AMAZING dog and we want nothing more than for him to get a loving home!

Peanut's adoption fee is $125. He is neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and is up to date on flea/tick/heartworm prevention.

Update: Foster home has been found and we are waiting on puppies any day now! THANK YOU!!

URGENT - We are in search of a foster home for a pregnant mother who is due to give birth any day now! Ultrasound showed at least two, maybe three, pups. She is a small dog (12 pounds). Please message the shelter or email Natalie at [email protected] if you know anyone who can help!

As much as we love our shelter, it is not the best environment for a mama to have to give birth and we would love for her to be in calm, peaceful, and quiet environment. She has had a hard life and deserves that more than anything!

💙 Bob, Otto, Kevin, Stuart 💙

Say hello to our adorable small dog crew who recently came to the shelter after they were dumped out in the county. Thankfully they found their way to a woman's home who fostered them until we had room to take them in. Now, they are on the hunt for their forever homes!!

We believe they are pug/dachsund/chihuahua mixes. And what better way to spend Halloween at the shelter than grabbing our box of small dog costumes and playing dress up??

These four LOVE to snuggle and be with people. They are super friendly and get along great with other dogs. They also seem to be very friendly with children as well!

Descriptions and names for each are under their pictures.

They all will be neutered on Monday and will be ready to go home Monday night. However, you can come meet them TODAY at the shelter from 12 to 5. Each of their adoption fees are $125.

🩷 Snickers & Doodle 💙

Snicker (black, female) and Doodle (male, white) came to the shelter as strays from the county. This pair of senior cuties weigh 10 pounds each and are the just the sweetest lap dog duo in all of Cass County!

Both Snicker and Doodle are between 8 and 12 years old. They love to be held and do not make a mess in their kennel at night. They are friendly and love to meet all kinds of people! We would love to see them together in their new home, but it is not required to adopt them both!

For now, Snicker and Doodle are looking for foster homes while they wait to get fixed. We will provide everything you need while they are in foster care! Foster families also have first dibs on adoption!
