π URGENT - Skittles π
Skittles is a 3 year old, 45 pound, spayed female, who came to the shelter as a stray. She is in SERIOUS need of a foster or adopter to take her home.
Skittles is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm and Lyme negative, and up to date on all preventions. Her adoption fee has been sponsored and is $0.
Skittles has one of the saddest stories out of all our dogs. She came to the shelter in June after she was abandoned by her previous owners, left alone in her home with her cat sibling. Lucky for her, the neighbors rescued her after she jumped out of a window and was found in her backyard, begging for someone to help her.
We quickly realized Skittles was a little different. She would stare at shadows or off in the distance when nothing was there. She walks with a limp and sometimes slips. We do believe she may have trouble seeing and we are not 100% sure why or what is causing it.
What we DO know about Skittles is that she is gentle, loving, and very peaceful. She spends a lot of time in the front office and she greets everyone with a tail wag and a soft sniff. She loves sleeping on her dog bed.
Skittles went into a foster home for a weekend and her foster dad said she was the BEST guest. She got along great with the other dog in the home. She didn't have any accidents in the house and was very mellow. All she really wanted was to lay on the couch and finally find peace.
No matter how much we feed Skittles at the shelter, she continues to lose weight due to stress. We have reached a point where we may have to make a difficult decision for Skittles unless someone steps up and helps our very special girl.
We are asking for someone to PLEASE come give Skittles the chance she deserves. She has been let down by people before. As a community, we can do better and not let her down a second time.
Please share, share, SHARE her post and help us find Skittles a foster home or forever home before it is too late for our sweet, beautiful girl π
We are open 12 to 5 Saturday or you can make an appointment Sunday to meet her or any of our other wonderful dogs.
