Whiskey is ready to stow away under the Christmas Tree! About 13.2 and around 10 years old He is mostly on the “nice list” he’s happy to waste an hour with you while you braid his mane and tell him how handsome he is! He is very familiar with this whole “riding game” and actually has some nice buttons. He’s happy to WTC and has never offered a spook or a buck. He’s fine around traffic, bridges, tractors, goats and chickens. I believe (but I’m not able to test) that he has driving experience and I think he would be an excellent candidate for a driving home!

The only thing that gets him on the naughty list is his attitude with other horses. 😬 While he likes to be in their general vicinity he isn’t ok with actually making contact with them. I suspect he was a stallion for many years prior to being gelded. He is willing to work in the ring and focus on business but he’d rather have his own space in turnout with no adjoining fence lines. This behavior has improved with a soy free diet and even more with a Depo trial and if someone is willing to put in the work, I suspect it could be solved with time. We are currently rehabbing some damaged feet that are responding well to regular trimming.

Let me be 100% clear-while he would be “intermediate-beginner safe” and would be a great lunge-lesson pony if no other horses are around; I would say if there is any chance that could happen I would be happier seeing him with an intermediate/advanced rider just for the sake of safety. Is your horse really in front of your leg? Like, really? This concept can be tough to wrap the mind around because it's one of those things in riding that is better felt than explained. Miss Annie is totally impressing me with her ridability! None of the rushing/racing that you sometimes get when restarting OTTBs (no wonder she didn’t do well as a racehorse 😜) we are still working on some pushy ground manners but she very much redeems herself under saddle! Get in touch withHeart and hooves rescue and sanctuary if you want a slightly sassy but willing little lady to adventure with!!

Mr. JJ is doing so well!! Second ride under saddle and he’s totally unphased by it all! Also he’s a gentleman and a love bug on the ground. He’s going to make someone a super special partner. Contact Heart and hooves rescue and sanctuary about this guy.

Excited to welcome this little lady back for another month of training. I did a month of basic training on miss Winter before my student Morgan adopted her. She asked me to do another month to help her get Winnie started on her dressage-specific training!

Sinco and I had a great weekend at GMHA! We were able to get our second qualifying score for our freestyle and continue to improve our 2-3 test in preparation for regional championship next month!

I am so incredibly proud of this group of people! They knocked it out of the park at the N-Bar-H show today! Niki and her yearling won their in-hand division and her halflinger put in some solid rides for some good ribbons under saddle. Penny and Atlas placed well and looked amazing. And last but certainly not least, Sarah and her gelding Ed looked like pros in their first ever show and the judge agreed! Penny M Mason, Niki Dubois and Sarah Rickershauser you guys were superstars today!!

Today was trailer training day! Both of these guys took about 2 hours to load when I picked them up and they both got on today in about 5 min! ❤️ next time we’ll try some self-loading!
