Let's talk about CRATE TRAINING. Here are some training tips!

1. Feed meals inside the crate (3 meals/day for puppies or 2 meals/day for adult dogs, 10 MINUTES TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT).

2. Place crate in a low-traffic area.

3. Cover the crate; make it dark and cozy. This does not mean you need to put a dog bed inside because doing so might make puppies have a potty accident.

4. Give a high-value treat EVERY SINGLE TIME your dog enters the crate. My favorite "crate treat" is Freeze Dried Liver.

5. Give a high-value + long lasting treat EVERY SINGLE TIME you keep your dog inside the crate for an extended period of time (meaning, when you intend to close the crate door) - e.g. bully sticks, a stuffed Kong, cow ears, pig ears, beef lung, etc.

6. Hide treats inside the crate so your dog discovers the treats when they least expect it - surprise!

7. With your dog outside the crate, close the crate door and show them you're tossing treats inside. Let the dog try to figure out how to get inside for about a minute. Finally, open the crate door and let the dog get all the treats!

8. Toss a treat in, let the dog claim it, invite them out. Repeat. Make it a fun game!
