This year we are bringing back the $1000 added Pro-Am Challenge on Saturday night!!

What is a Pro Am??

Two riders (options include: Open rider/ Non Pro Rider, Open Rider/ Youth Rider, Non Pro Rider/ Youth Rider, Non Pro Rider/ Non Pro Rider) compete on the same horse to complete a pattern. The first rider (they may choose who completes which half) completes the first 4 maneuvers of the pattern (ie: Pattern 5- first rider completes Left Circles, Left Spins, Right Circles, and Right Spins). Following the fourth maneuver; the riders pause and switch riders (you may adjust stirrups but may not switch any equipment). The second rider then completes the remaining 4 maneuvers (ie: Pattern 5- the second rider completes the Figure 8 and 3 stops on the sides).

Non Pro/Youth riders may pair up with ANY Open rider (not just their trainers), and both Open and Non Pro/Youth may compete multiple times (horses may only be shown one time during the class).

In addition to the added money, there are buckles sponsored by Colorado Animal Health and other prizes up for grabs!!

A little late posting the results for the Southwest NE slide, but here they are:

Kathryn Painter and Dun Smarter finished 3rd in the Prime Time Non Pro winning a $34.20 check

Theses 2 also finished tied for 2nd the Rookie class bringing home another $30.88

Payton Cure and Magnum Nic finished 3rd in the short Stirrup both Saturday and Sunday

Payton Cure and Pale Faced Wimpy finished 5th on Saturday and 1st on Sunday in the Short Stirrup.

Holly Tracy and Wiked Spook, owned by Alison Bendele, won the NS Open Reining, placed 2nd in the NS JP Ranch Riding and AQHA Ranch riding and 5th in the Ranch on the rail, securing the “All around Ranch Rider” title and taking home $320. Thanks to Alison for the opportunity to show this nice gelding!
