Oakland is an amazingly resilient girl. She’s a long hair beauty and loves to be pet and have her belly rubbed. Oakland was rescued from the Oakland shelter. She was born with deformity’s to all 4 legs. With proper medical care and a ton of love and time to grow she has become a beautiful funny, strong and independent but shy and vulnerable girl. I am amazed every day at the ability for kitty’s like Oakland to survive and thrive in the face of adversity.

🙏 Please Keep Roux in Your
Thoughts 🙏

Our sweet girl Roux had another seizure last night, just before her evening meal. She was acting oddly and wouldn’t go into her pen where she usually eats, and before we knew it, she was across the room in the middle of a seizure. Thankfully, we were able to move her safely into her pen once she started to settle, and after some time to relax, she was able to eat and get her medication.

This is her second grand mal seizure in just a week, which is very concerning. We’ll be speaking with our vet today to discuss whether any medication changes are needed. Please keep Roux in your thoughts as we navigate this.

Roux isn’t the biggest fan of being held, but she’s an incredibly sweet girl who had a rough start in life. We’ve worked hard to give her a safe and comfortable home, and we just want to keep her as healthy and happy as possible.

We appreciate all the love and support for our special needs kitties. 💜

✨PIXIE UPDATE✨

Sweet Pixie has always been such a lovable, vocal girl who craves attention, so it’s especially hard to see her struggling. Her arthritis is rather severe, and lately, she’s had increased inflammation in her right front joint, making her more uncomfortable. We’ve noticed that she’s seeking out warmer, quieter spots to rest, likely trying to ease her pain.

Pixie’s on several medications to help manage her discomfort, but she’s going through another bout of not eating well, which has us keeping a very close eye on her. We’ve also seen some changes in her usual personality, which is concerning, but we’re doing everything we can to keep her as comfortable as possible.

Please send Pixie some love, prayers, and positive thoughts. She is such a special girl, and we just want her to feel safe and at ease. We’ll continue to update as we navigate this with her.

Please keep Miss Roux in your thoughts... Roux had another pretty intense seizure recently, even with the last medication increase. After speaking with our vet, it was determined that we need to add a second seizure medication to help try and prevent further grand mal seizures. Roux is a deeply shy soul, so we’re doing the best we can to keep these seizures under control without causing too much stress. Roux has a routine currently that she is comfortable with, which limits her being handled too much and helps to ensure she enjoys a good quality of life.
