💜Update💜
As you know by now, we love updates on HOBC alumni…because who doesn’t love happily-ever-after stories? We also enjoy sharing updates with our followers because as we always say, “We can’t do what we do, without you!”

You may remember these two blind cuties, Hawkeye and Blink. As you can see, they still love each other and are living the good life, being absolutely spoiled and loved by their pawrents. Cat Mom reports that “The babies are great. We love them so much!!”
It doesn’t get any better than that!❤️ Keep those alumni updates & pictures coming…we love it!

‼️Lt Dan had his recheck at the vet, and it didn’t go as we had hoped😞. Unfortunately, both ears are still battling infection, though one ear showed slight improvement. He needed another thorough cleaning and a new round of medication for both ears. Let's all hope this treatment does the trick for our little warrior. Vet visits are always stressful for him, but he’s hanging in there!

His vet bill today was $95. Any and all support would mean the world to us. Thank you, as always, for your well wishes and continued support. We have another recheck scheduled in two weeks. Fingers crossed🤞for a better outcome next time…because
Lt Dan has, in his own opinion, better things to do with his time!

Update on Lt Dan: Since his treatment for the ear infection, Lt Dan seems to be on the mend and feeling better! He is due for a recheck this Tuesday.🤞 Please keep our boy in your thoughts and prayers!

🎉HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎉….. Guess who just turned 1 ? Why it’s HOBC alumni Gus Gus and his buddy Jasmine, who celebrated her first birthday a month earlier. As you may remember, Gus Gus was found on a porch abandoned as a newborn kitten and bottle fed lovingly from day one! Jasmine was the beauty that we saved from potential abandonment by taking her from a person trying desperately to give her away in front of a store😢. They both are foster fails and are greatly loved by previous HOBC adopters! They enjoy living together with their big kitty brother & sister… who are also HOBC alumni. Crazy, right?

When blowing out the candles, 🎂 Gus Gus wished for every homeless kitty in the world to have a home where they are loved & cherished! Jasmine agreed with Gus Gus but said treats & toys for everyone would be nice too! 🎵Happy Birthday dear Kitties, Happy Birthday to you!🎵

‼️Urgent Fundraiser for Lt Dan’s Vet Care‼️

Yesterday, we noticed that Lt Dan, one of our beloved special needs cats, wasn’t quite himself—he was vomiting and just not acting right. We rushed him to the vet, where we discovered he has a severe ear infection in both ears!

The vet cleaned and treated his ears with medication, but Lt Dan will need a recheck in 10 days to ensure the infection is fully cleared. Unfortunately, this unexpected visit cost us $120, and we need your help to cover the bill.

Lt Dan hasn’t had an ear infection in two years, but the recent high pollen counts and ongoing heavy construction in our neighborhood have likely contributed to his condition.

Your donations, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated to help us continue to care for Lt Dan. Please consider donating to support his recovery and ensure he gets the follow-up care he needs.

Oakland was rescued from the Oakland shelter. She was born with deformity’s to all 4 legs. With proper medical care and a ton of love and time to grow she has become a beautiful funny, strong and independent but shy and vulnerable girl. I am amazed every day at the ability for kitty’s like Oakland to survive and thrive in the face of adversity. Oakland is currently on Adequan and Solensia for her arthritis and they require monthly injections.

Crash was back at the vet today for a recheck of his ears. This is his 3rd visit for the same ear infection! Fortunately, this time he got the all clear.😊 If you recall he also had quite a deep sore on his face from scratching, which he does with a lot of force, but that has healed well also.

Although the ear infections cause him to be even more off balance than usual, we do believe they are related to allergy rather than his neurological issues. All in all, our boy is feeling much better. We’re going to keep those ears as clean as we can and fingers crossed that we can keep the infection away!

A little bit of sweetness crossed the rainbow 🌈 bridge and earned her wings tonight🕊️. Leia was a sickly, tiny girl who fought bravely against multiple ailments in her short life.

There was nothing but love in this little soul’s heart, and while she was here, she brought so much love and light to her foster family. Today it was clear her poor body couldn’t take anymore, and the decision was made to let her be at peace. Leia left behind many broken hearts.💔

Rest in peace beautiful Leia💕 You will be missed and in the hearts of those who knew and loved you forever. Thank you to her fosters who gave this little princess so much love and comfort.💜

Please keep Miss Roux in your thoughts... Roux had another pretty intense seizure recently, even with the last medication increase. After speaking with our vet, it was determined that we need to add a second seizure medication to help try and prevent further grand mal seizures. Roux is a deeply shy soul, so we’re doing the best we can to keep these seizures under control without causing too much stress. Roux has a routine currently that she is comfortable with, which limits her being handled too much and helps to ensure she enjoys a good quality of life. Gus Gus and Jasmine have officially been adopted by the Evans family! This has been quite a story in the making. We could not be happier for these two amazing kittens who came from difficult circumstances. When the Evans family offered to foster our surprise intake, Jasmine, we were thrilled. When they decided she may need a younger friend and also wanted to foster Gus Gus, we couldn’t have been happier! Gus Gus & Jasmine hit it off famously. When these two made it their job to befriend their two other kitties (#HOBCAlumni Rafter and Lola) there really wasn’t any other possible ending but to make them all a forever family! Gus Gus, being a newborn when he arrived, has always loved human company and he still adores being cuddled and held. Jasmine has a mind of her own and was desperate to make friends with the other cats, which she was quite crafty at accomplishing. She still enjoys a snuggle with her human family as well. Thank you to the Evans family for wanting to give two more of our amazing kitties a fabulous loving home. We are overjoyed that they have found their way into the hearts of this wonderful loving family! Have a happy life sweet babies! 😘

Roux

Our girl Roux is struggling… Roux is continuing to have grand mal seizures and needed to see the vet rather urgently this week. A full blood panel has been done to see if we can find a source for the seizures. This was a very unexpected vet visit. Her bill came to $299 and we could use some help! Since it had been several months since the last one, we were optimistic that she would become stable again, but in the new year her seizures have only become more frequent and more intense. The most recent lasted a full minute and was very scary! She does not like being handled and that makes it very hard to treat or comfort her. These changes raise more concerns about both her health and her safety. Please say a prayer and send some good energy for our girl. We’ll have an update as soon as we have the bloodwork results.
