Incoming mangey boy 🧡

INCREDIBLY SWEET, this guy was living on the streets of East LA in a barbershop & mariscos parking lot. Apparently a woman is feeding them & socializing them. There are about 6 others who are also friendly & will be needing off the streets if we can find fosters. will be returning to TNR and we will try to help place the friendly ones.

His skin is so hot & fragile, so much of his stomach, legs, and butt have lost their hair. kindly lent his first dose of ivermectin already & we will follow up with Selamectin in 2 weeks. He’ll need a foster once his skin begins to improve.

Watch the videos 😭 I’m blown away by how loving he is to me immediately. Bellies, purrs, and elevator butt within 3 mins of entering his new crate 🥺 I cannot wait to see his glow up 💄

This sweet tortie was found on the streets of Fontana with the left side of her face burned (this was pre fires, 1/4).

held her for a couple of nights to get her off the streets & then transported her to us as soon as we had space for her 🙏🏽 Thank you, Natalie!

Her burn is already improving greatly! She received an antibiotic injection from our vet to speed the healing process, silver honey topical cream which is working wonders, and BNP ointment for the eye. She had gabapentin the first few days here but doesn’t seem to be in much pain lately. Amazingly, her left eye has escaped unscathed & will be perfectly normal once her cheek is healed & she’s able to fully open it 🎉

We had to evacuate for a few days & she was such an incredible sport both in the car & while we were away at & house. She had zero complaints and was just the sweetest girl the entire time. No issues with other cats. She had no microchip upon arrival but it’s super obvious she used to have a family who loved her (or, who she loved 😔 is maybe more accurate) 💔

We do have an interested foster to adopter lined up for her but will lyk if that changes!

Please meet our newest rostered kitty…Pookie!

Sadly, but not uncommonly, Pookie’s owner passed away in October. Pookie remained at the apartment complex and entered her old apartment via a broken window to sleep each night (😭), then lounged on the patio furniture by day. ☀️

A kind neighbor has been feeding her since the owner passed away & got Pookie a little cat house, but is allergic and cannot take her inside. She was searching for help to get her off the street. passed by this area for yoga classes & happened to notice her. She did the heavy lifting of investigating all of this, gathering this information, and of course we will be backing her as a foster. As of tonight.. POOKIE IS SAFE!

Pookie is about 9 years old. She had a hernia surgery in 2020 but otherwise seems to be in fantastic health. Word on the street is she’s good with dogs and kids. We will schedule her for her basic intake vetting in the next few days. If you feel called to fostering or adopting Pookie please hit the links in our bio 💥🔗

Tweet 🐥 2 months post enucleation & thriving! 👁️

We took in this sweet baby with 2 infected eyes in early October - she was less than 8 weeks old, + had a giant belly that just turned out to be (via ultrasound) an enlarged bladder. She was found wandering around at a known colony + the feeder contacted us for help when this kitten wouldn’t stop following her around crying 🥺

Over the next few days the burst eyeball got worse & needed an immediate enucleation which she received 10/22. Amazingly the other eye cleared up to 100% normal with various antibiotics & ointments.

Sadly a week after her enucleation she developed ringworm & has been getting treated for her ring for the past 2 months at my ring king ’ warehouse 🙏🏽

She LOVES to play with other cats, but because humans have always only messed with her (aka medicated her), she still is a bit timid of us, and needs an adopter who understands that & can provide a safe loving space for her to authentically come around on her own timeline. She’s not feral by any means - she’s still a very sweet girl, just a little afraid.

Shoutout to for traveling down to OC to shoot some incredible pics of her current adoptables! 🙏🏽

Squeezed in one last kitten on the last day of 2024. Our foster/adopter (of Dirtroller & Angeleno)/friend was out hiking in Griffith today when this teensy white & black baby approached them !! They were able to secure her in a purple bag and took her right over to us for intake vetting.

She’s 2.33 lbs and pretty emaciated, spine & hips protruding. I’ll bet she hasn’t had a real food source in a few days at least. She wolfed down some fancy feast kitten food mixed with water. Zero fleas or flea dirt but 3 massive ticks of various breeds 🤯 the 3 of us worked to tweeze the ticks out as safely & sanitarily as possible. Despite it probably being painful she purred the entire time 🥹 She’s also a bit congested so we started her on antibiotics. She received Rev Plus, first vaccine, microchip, and dewormer.

She’s going to need a foster home asap because we have 6 cats arriving over the next few days that we committed to weeks/months ago. Obviously we couldn’t say no to having her come to us today. So glad she is safe & grateful to & Matt for bringing her to safety instead of just leaving her out there to be coyote bait. Her survival in the thick of the wilderness is quite impressive.

Elton & Benny are an 8 month old bonded brother duo who were rescued from a trailer park in Huntington Park 2 months ago.

From their foster:
“They are energetic, curious, and loving purrbugs. They are a little shy but warm up quickly and like exploring once they are more comfortable. A quieter home environment would better suit them as they are not accustomed to loud noises. They love to play with wand toys and enjoy bird watching. They will rumble and tumble with each other and will snuggle afterwards.”

Fun fact: Benny has heterochromia, or different colored eyes. This is rare as only 1 in 1,000 cats have this. 💚🩵

They are fully vetted and ready for a foster-to-adoptive family to take a chance on them 🙏🏽

No days off 🥲
Christmas morning seemed to be an excellent time for someone to dump 4 cats off in a park in Cerritos at 7:30am.
We received texts from our foster/adopter Taylor that our previous adopter (of Cascade from the Mountain litter), Genesis, had found 4 cats abandoned in a park. Thanks to her swift action, they were taken to safety urgently. We agreed to back ofc, it was Christmas morning there was 0% chance of us denying intake of this poor little family of 4, seemingly related but of all different ages 🤔, who had just met the worst fate of their lives.

They are generously being temp fostered with Genesis and her family until 1/3 when they’ll come to us. But as per usual, we need fosters for them starting that day. Donald and I are both completely full, as are our 80+ current foster families.

There was no possibility of the cats not being named after Christmas so we went with a reindeer theme 🦌🛷
The male adult is Blitzen, Tortie is V***n, Marble Orange tabby is Comet, and the baby is Cupid.

So far, their personalities are being displayed mildly as they begin to settle in and realize they’ve made it to safety.

Blitzen (5.6 lbs / months) the oldest of them all, is the most calm cat. Despite his shyness, he is already showing signs of enjoying pets and being held by humans.
V***n (3.5 lbs / months) is the spiciest kitty of them all, and loves staring out the window on her own. She’s super shy but with lots of love and patience you’ll win her over.
Comet (4.7 lbs / months) was the first brave kitty to exit the carrier and explore! Comet and Cupid enjoy playing w/ one another.
Cupid (2.4 lbs / months) is the smallest of the litter but the most energetic! He loves to play with anything & initiates play w/ the other cats.

We’d love to find a foster for Comet & Cupid together. Blitzen can be the only cat in the household. V***n will need some patience before she trusts you, and can go to a foster with or without other cats (although w/ other cats would probably help boost her confidence).

They received first vaccine rounds, dewormer, + flea treatment thanks to our partner ❤️‍🔥

About a month and a half ago we received a call for help from a woman who’s been feeding large colonies around her neighborhood for the past decade +. She had a friendly neutered male colony kitty named Tolani whose fur was falling out & he was covered in scabs (another case of FAD… shocker). Another feeder had given him flea treatment for it but it didn’t seem to work. We let her know that once he could be secured he could come to us for treatment/recovery + since he was friendly we’d try to find him a home, as he’s spent his entire life on the streets since he was a kitten :(

But he didn’t come around regularly so time passed by and she wasn’t seeing much of him. When he returned he had a bloody cheek; she worked hard to secure him and immediately brought him over this past Sunday. It looked like a burst abscess so we started him on antibiotics as well as giving him a dose of a flea treatment that is specifically made to battle FAD which has worked super well on Mamba, Petra, Rufus, Farrah, and others.

He is a great eater, incredibly sweet and gentle, super well mannered with the litter box. He hasn’t made a peep. Quick to purr and nudge your palm for more pets 🥹 Appreciative of any and all attention directed towards him.

I could see him thriving in a calm environment with either no other cats or female cats, since he’s spent his whole life outside he may be territorial with other males but it’s up in the air. He just needs a foster home! Would love him to get out of his crate. His abscess is healing up nicely as well.

We opened the floodgates with this woman and now she’s asking us to help like 5 other sick kitties around her neighborhood, the neighbors aren’t kind to the cats and have made threats against them. The sooner Tolani leaves for a foster or adopter the sooner we can continue down our everlasting waitlist 😅

We’ll get him a microchip, FIV/FeLv tested, dewormed, and a vaccine booster prior to handoff to new foster.

12/18/2024

Back at the end of April this sweet friendly girl wandered into someone’s backyard in Highland Park begging for love & attention. No microchip, not fixed, and seemingly nowhere to be. Sparsely thinning hair and covered in scabs (signs of flea allergic dermatitis which used to be a rarity but has seemingly become the norm lately), it was quite obvious she had been living outside or maybe indoor/outdoor but certainly lacking the care she needed and deserved. She was kept safe that evening thanks to & delivered to us the next day despite our consistently full waitlist.

We named her Petra and soon realized she had more energy than just about any kitten we had ever come across. It’s been 9 months of her growing & flourishing in multiple foster homes ( ) and despite being a nearly perfect cat, she’s strangely not had a single application. 🤯

From her current foster -
She’s fearless, funny, talkative, independent, a sleepy head when she runs out of energy. Will play on her own, entertains herself if no one plays with her. She’s an alpha so she’ll do well with submissive cats.

she likes playing with hair ties, little plush mice and strings. Not interested in plants. My cat loves chewing on them, she could care less.

Not really cat food motivated but loves human food and stands there begging. If you turn your eyes away she eats your food. {Maybe why she’s had no apps LOL}

I made her a toy with paper roll so she could get them out and she managed to, she’s smart. When we have the bathroom door closed she’ll slide the hair tie under the door and I’ll slide it back to her back and forth. She loves chasing.

Loves top of head or chin scratches but not belly rubs or petting. She’ll do well with other cats or alone. She like being the center of attention.

ADOPT PETRA! 💗

12/14/2024

A year and a half ago, June 2023, we rescued about a dozen cats from a hoarding situation we’d been rescuing from and TNRing at since 2021 in Anaheim. The homeowner was finally being forced out of her dilapidated inhabitable home and moved to a cleaner and more habitable living environment where she would be prohibited from bringing more than 2 cats - problem being she had 16 indoors (all fixed) and another half dozen or more living in the backyard (completely overrun by foliage, it was a cat Disneyland).

Long story short Marigold was a backyard kitty who had had little to no socialization. There are almost no options for cats like this besides fixing and returning but in this case there would be no feeders, plus the angry neighbors were threatening to hurt the cats.

So we’ve had her for the last year and a half bouncing around to a few different fosters and over that time she has become incredibly sweet and friendly. Her eyes are calm and confident but she still loves hiding under her bed and peeking out at what’s going on in the room. She hisses at other cats who encroach into her space but seems to adjust to them quickly once she’s asserted her presence.

She’s Olympically skilled at elevator butt. Her eyes speak volumes about trust and gratitude. She needs a calm peaceful environment. She’d thrive in a home with or without other cats. Most of all she needs patience.

We’re looking for either a long term foster for her (couple months minimum) OR a foster to adopter!

12/14/2024

On Thanksgiving Day someone decided to abandon their cat in a carrier in a subterranean garage half a block down on our street. A tenant of the building heard her crying all morning and called the local feeder who contacted us for help.

I brought her home and scanned for a microchip which she had, and after a couple hours of digging for info yielded 2 phone numbers. I called the first one and got an indie TNR woman who remembered fixing and chipping this cat back in 2019! She recalled handing her over to a rescue who operated the care center of a local petsmart which is now defunct, as is that rescue. I was eventually connected to the rescue who told me they no longer live in Los Angeles and didn’t really have anywhere for this kitty to go. They did confirm that she was adopted and even provided a photo of the happy adoption 4 years ago. The rescue contacted the adopters but still, 2 weeks later, have yet to get a response.

Meanwhile, our kind friend and foster expressed interest in being a safe landing pad for the kitty, who we know now was named Gemma. We got her intake vetting done and handed her off until we could calculate her next steps, still hoping that the rescue who adopted her out would be willing to assume responsibility for her and figure out a plan for her.

Gemma was very attached to her carrier at first, she never wanted to venture out of there. When she did we all noticed that her hind legs seemed to be slightly atrophied, possibly from being cramped into that carrier for long periods of time :/
Eventually though, Gemma felt brave enough to wander out into the restroom, bat some springs around, and even approach for pets and lovins.

She drank water copiously so she went to our vet on Thursday. Her bloodwork was nearly perfect and all organs are fully functioning as they should. She had a urinalysis and an ultrasound which also were returned unremarkable.

Gemma is officially a DG girly and she is going to her next foster in a few days. But she needs a forever home. One that would never contemplate abandoning her - on a day named after giving thanks, no less 🤯💔

12/03/2024

2024: our 4th year spent dedicating our lives to rescuing cats (ngl feels more like a decade 😅).
I’m so proud of how we’ve streamlined the bulk of our processes in order to save as many lives as efficiently possible! We had a 24% ⬆️ in cats rescued from the streets this year (273) compared to last year (220).

Most of our intake came from supporting the indie trapper community in placing friendlies/dumped pets discovered during TNR efforts to prevent the burden of medical/fostering/adoption to fall on them so that they were freed up to continue the TNR mission. The rest were calls for help we received from the public.

We also coordinated & sponsored 50+ residents of LA with getting community cats fixed, vaxed, blood tests, X-rays, enucleations, amputations, and more.

We grew to having 80+ current foster families - I’m speechlessly grateful bc without our fosters our intake would be a small fraction of what it currently is. 🥹

We averaged 20 adoptions/month utilizing solely Petfinder & IG to spread awareness about adoptables. Shoutout to who took over Petfinder listing duties a few months ago and has done a killer job getting everyone listed & looking their best, which has allowed me more time to be able to guide fosters when they have questions, coordinate vet visits & bulk spay/neuter, input medical records, place supply orders, pay bills, and various other endless admin tasks.

Running a nonprofit rescue where none of us get paid is a labor of love and can be draining in almost every aspect. The organizational component is so important to me because that’s the only way we can maintain this volume sustainably. Because of this I’m confident we can continue at this rate for many years to come. 📈

We’re so grateful to those who wholeheartedly believe in & support our mission of preventing shelter impounds: our donors, foster parents, transporters, anyone who shares our posts & truly cares about all of these homeless cats the way that we do. We wouldn’t still be here without y’all. ❤️‍🔥

For Giving Tuesday we are again encouraging you to become a monthly donor 💸 even $5-10 helps!

TY for the beautiful flyer! 🙏🏽

Dilute tortie sisters SoFi + April from the Inglewood litter born on my birthday are still available for adoption! Now 7 months old.

Back story on this litter’s mama:
“So we first began seeing them 2-3 years ago. She looked older and he looked like a kitten. Initially we heard they belonged to our next door neighbor so we didn’t really look into it until they both started looking rough.
We have ring so we would see them all day and night walking around sometimes in fights. The neighbor was putting food out but not caring for them fully.
Momma had her second litter and only 1 survived. After she got pregnant with our Inglewood litter we just took her and neighbors never came to ask us questions so we just took her in. After her spay we adopted her.”

Mia (tortie in last slide) + Archie were foster-fails and Dexter is in the midst of the adoption process! SoFi and April are both still looking for their forever families.

April is a little sassy drama queen. She will let you know when her siblings are playing too rough with her. She enjoys playing with her siblings and her toys. She likes to hide and sleep anywhere! She is adventurous, always looking for what to do next. She likes to be pet when she’s sleepy, but if she’s awake she rather be running around than cuddling. She would thrive with other cats around who are just as playful as her and willing to cuddle.
Sofi is a playful girl who prefers to wrestle her sisters and brothers than play with toys. However, if she had to pick a toy it would be a crinkle ball or a ball with a bell inside. As much as she loves to play she also likes to sleep. She can sleep anywhere, even a flowerpot! Sofi is protective of her siblings, when she hears someone crying she immediately runs to check on them. Like her sister Mia, she likes to be pet on her own terms. She will allow you to pet her when she is tired and likes to be cuddled. Sofi would thrive in a household with other cats who have the same playful energy. Like her siblings she has a schedule: get up early for breakfast, play for a few hours, sleep, and then play some more!

Meet Polly (mom) & Beatrice (daughter)!

This sweet momma + daughter community cat pair were living on the streets of Lincoln Heights. Sadly the feeder/colony caretaker found out the son got hit by a car and wanted a better life for them both.

Our friend/girl crush went out and caught them, got them fixed & began networking for rescue backing to help find them adopters. was already fostering for us & agreed to take these 2 on as well 🥺🙏🏽

They are currently decompressing & warming up to that VIP indoor life! We’re getting them on our cal for snap tests, dewormer, and microchips & they’ll soon be available for foster-to-adopt.

FUN FACT they are BOTH polydactyl! 🐾

Mama Polly can go to a home with/without another cat, but we’d like to find Beatrice a home with another cat friend for her. They can also be adopted as a pair! 👯‍♀️

Be sure to turn up your volume for the purr motor on mom in the last slide 😌 she’s so happy to be warm & cozy inside receiving attention & love 💗

Back in July we received a call from our primary vet requesting our help for an owner relinquish who was a patient of the vet office. The owner was living in a retirement community & the management forced her to relinquish/remove one of her two cats, Mister, as he was having some medical issues caused by stress. I asked them to kennel him in back of the vet so I could come meet him & grab content, assess personality etc. I was met with the sweetest boy who immediately held my eye contact & offered me elevator butt and a loud purr motor. I didn’t even want to leave him there for a night but had to bc we had no foster.

Fast forward 5 months he’s now been bounced around to 3 different fosters & sadly still has no interested adopter 😔

Mister is a stunning boy with big blue eyes and an even bigger heart. His favorite thing is to be loved on by his special human(s). Mister’s favorite spots to be pet are his head, behind the ears, neck, back….basically just give him all the pets. This sweet boy will ask for pets but also wait patently if you are working by entertaining himself with birdwatching, suntanning, toys, and naps. Mister would be best as an only cat so he can be your number one fan and get all the attention he craves.
His favorite cat toy is a spiral noodle/tube.

He is 7 years old, fully vetted, and waiting for you to fill out an adoption application linked in our bio 🤓🩵

🖤 Inky & Violet 🖤

Back in May we rescued a sweet black trio from Lakewood who had been born on the streets and fostered by their finder in the meantime until we found a foster.
Butter was adopted several months ago & Inky & Violet are now at their 4th foster home, still with no potential interested adopter 😔

From their current foster:

Inky is stoic and slow to warm up but once she does she’s just a puddle of love. She sort of slinks around in the background and when she’s ready to she’ll join you for affection.
Violet is very social, she loves to be pet and picked up, she runs to the door when you get home and demands a proper greeting. She loves to drink from the toilet and dip her belly in the dog’s water bowl (we nicknamed her fish for this reason). They both love to sit in an open window and sleep against a wall. They’re both great with other respectful animals.
They’re both adventurous and sweet.

Now approaching 8 months old, both female, fully vetted & ready for a forever family. They are truly bonded & will need to go to a home together.

Mama Athena + Rango, Theodore + Penelope

Rango is very vocal and loves to be held non-stop, he will play with anything you put in front of him and he pioneered the first few bites of wet food at weaning time 🤗

Theodore loves to nap all the time, he is very shy like his momma and takes a bit of time to warm up but when he does he will just want to cuddle with you 🧡

Penelope is the most playful kitty and has the zoomies most of the time & she loves to be cuddled next to you for a nap. (if you adopt Penelope you are getting yourself the cutest little diva) 💜

Athena is our humble demure momma who is ready to enjoy her teen life ✨ if you want a bff for life to keep you company while you read and chill she is the perfect gal 🤎

Athena will be fixed in December & the kit
