Dear NK fans and friends,
We’re very sad to share that we had to say goodbye to our sweet Cyril last week.
One of six kittens found in the L.A. Times parking garage in 2010, Cyril quickly distinguished himself as a character among characters. In all likelihood, he singlehandedly (paw-edly?) rescued not only himself but his siblings and mom by literally shining brightly in a dark basement and calling out to us with what would later become known as his mournful yowls.
An early NK fan favorite, Cyril went viral on Facebook and garnered so much interest that all six kittens found homes with loving families in record time.
Cyril lived a long, happy life with his adoptive parents and sister Colfax, who reluctantly put up with his brother-like antics. Known for his signature upside-down full-body stretches and bright blue eyes, Cyril was an art connoisseur who enjoyed butt rubs, crunchy tuna treats and kneading his humans’ stomachs. He also had an unusually long tail that he used to conduct Beethoven.
In addition to Colfax, he is survived by his humans, Susanna and Mike, his rescuers, An and Connie, and many, many fans who followed his antics on this page.
RIP, Cyril.
