AFTER 1st Session - Barrel Racer
This is an excellent barrel racing horse named Calico Gypsy Bar, located in Central Florida.
Things to Note!!
Compared to Calico's "Before" video, the viewer may note both subtle and drastic differences in Calico's movement. He is now moving and walking much more smoothly and freely, turning more easily and with less reluctance, and one may especially note the marked difference in the way his hind legs step while backing up. His head and neck also demonstrate more liberty of movement in the natural walk.
All of these changes DO carry over into other movements and gaits, including the trot, canter, gallop, etc. The results of the kind of massage and bodywork Lucia does are not atypical, and this horse will benefit in performance and at liberty. This will positively impact this horse's willingness and attitude, enhance his performance competitively, as well as at practice or leisure, and will improve his comfort level in general.
Calico's caring owner noticed he was "off," in horseman's terms, and summoned the services of Lucia. Please view Leading by Touch - Session 1 - BEFORE - Calico Gypsy Bar video to see the Calico's movement prior to Lucia's first session with him and application of massage therapy and bodywork.
This was an excellent session with a fantastic horse. He is extremely healthy, in excellent shape, exceptionally well cared for, and certainly a force to be reckoned with in the barrel racing world in the near future. Look out, barrel racers - This mover now has the competitive edge
This video is being used with permission of the owner of this horse and is for demonstrative and educational purposes, and to provide evidence of the benefits of proper use of effective massage therapy and bodywork on equines.

BEFORE 1st Session: Barrel Racer
This is an excellent barrel racing horse named Calico Gypsy Bar, located in Central Florida. This video demonstrates an example of his movement walking forward (toward and away from the viewer), turning, and backing up prior to his first massage therapy and bodywork session with Lucia K. White, Certified Equine Massage Therapist and Bodyworker - a very different kind of horse massage therapist.
Things to Note!
As you can see in this "Before" video, Calico is a bit hesitant and stiff in his movements, especially in turns and backing up. There are many other subtleties to note that are difficult to catch on camera, but speak loudly in person at liberty and under saddle.
Please do keep in mind these notes in movement do not reflect the treatment he receives from his current owner, nor do they reflect the discipline of barrel racing - this is the reason that Calico's owner contacted Lucia. These are the results of the work of ANY athlete's life - horse or human - and in the ridden horse there will always be something to note!
Calico's caring owner noticed he was "off," in horseman's terms, and summoned the services of Lucia. Please view Leading by Touch - Session 2 - Calico Gypsy Bar - After Massage video to see the results of just one session - keep in mind, this is his very first!
