MEET RUSTIE!

Rustie was surrendered to Kitty Devore Rescue at the tail end of February 2025 at the age of just three months by a kind soul who found him abandoned just outside of their home. We secured him a long-term foster home, and being a young kitten, he settled in quickly and adapted easily to his new indoor-life routine.

As a kitten, Rustie has an abundance of energy. He loves to wrestle with other kitties, chase string toys, and even play some fetch with plush mice! Don't let his high energy levels fool you, though; Rustie is a snuggler through and through. He loves receiving pets and curling up with his humans on the sofa while they watch TV. You may even find that he wants you to lift the covers while you're in bed so he can snuggle under them! MEET FONTANA, A WONDERFUL KITTY THROUGH AND THROUGH!

Love, love, love! That's all this kitty wants!

We rescued Fontana and her young litter of kittens from Devore Shelter in November 2024 (Momma Susan, for our followers), when shelter staff estimated her to be approximately 1 year old. Admitted as a stray, we determined she'd already been through a lot in her young life. However, we were struck by her unconditional kindness and willingness to seek out and give affection in return. Still, another two months would elapse before we observed her feeling settled and secure enough to sleep on the cat trees and cushy kitty beds or even play with toys. Now, she's dropped her guard completely and plays freely with her toys, luxuriates in naps, and surveying at the tippy-top of her favorite cat tree.

Fontana loves people. Chin scratches and gentle hugs keep her returning for more from her foster family. Although technically a very young adult, she hasn't lost her kitten exuberance. Zooming through kitty tunnels, batting crunch balls, leaping with glee for the rainbow cat dancer, and back-kicking her all-time favorite, a little plush pickle toy, shows off her athleticism and agility but also demonstrates her trust that it's safe now to drop her guard and let her true spirit shine through. Through it all, she's been an amazingly attentive momma, caring diligently for her kittens and, now that they're older, confirming for them that life can be joyful.

MEET ECLYPSE!

Impossible to ignore, he's full of awe-inspiring energy, much like the solar and lunar celestial events. He and his siblings were born in a warehouse in Anaheim and brought into foster care at just two days old. Their mother, Nova—who also gave birth to KD fosters Wacko & Dot—had eluded the traps for too long. Once rescuers finally caught her, she stayed with her newest babies until they were old enough to be independent. Then, she underwent her spay and vaccinations before returning to her colony.

From the start, Eclypse jostled his way through to get the best nursing spot. Not only was he a momma's boy, but also a greedy little milk hog. He eclipsed his siblings by emerging as the feistiest and fattest of the litter. However, when introduced to wet food, he lagged through the transition. Still, it didn't take him long to catch up, and he's never missed a meal since. Full of mischief and always up for fun, Eclypse loves to jump, roughhouse, and play fetch, although he's not the best at retrieving and returns. His half-brother and best buddy, Wacko, race one another to the apex of the cat trees, but when they're zoomed out, you can find them curled up together for a well-deserved nap.

Eclypse, who currently resides in a foster home with his littermates, Komet and Nebulah, his older half-siblings Wacko and Dot, a small dog, and two human teenagers, would thrive best in a lively, social environment. MEET NEBULAH!

Named after the vast and luminous clouds of dust and gas where stars are born, this little star beamed radiant and bright right from the start. She and her siblings, Komet and Eclypse, were born in a warehouse in Anaheim and brought into foster care at just two days old. Although she emerged as the tiniest luminary in the constellation of the litter, Nebulah distinguished herself as the one who most loved and sought human interaction. When Nebbie isn't snuggled up with her half-sister, Dot, she can be found curled up with her foster family of humans. She adores older children and, like the little star-princess she is, loves showers of attention and adoration. MEET DENVER!

This spunky sweetheart was approximately two months old when she and her sisters Tallahassee, Dallas, and Charlotte Ann waited for someone to adopt them from Devore Animal Shelter in June 2024. However, when they got sick and were added to the euthanasia list, Kitty Devore Rescue swooped in and welcomed them all to our foster care program.

If Denver had a motto, it would be "Play hard, nap hard"—and she lives up to it daily. This adventurous girl is always the first to dive into new experiences, whether exploring a cardboard box, scaling the cat tree, or splashing in her water bowl. Denver is fascinated with water; she loves tossing her toys into her bowl and even hangs out in the bathtub after her humans shower.

Denver is all about balance. When she's not zipping around the house playing chase with her siblings, she's snuggling up with her humans during TV time, soaking in all the pets and cuddles she can get. Her bravery and curiosity are matched only by her affectionate nature, making her an excellent companion.

MEET TALLAHASSEE!

This beautiful girl was approximately 2 months old when she and her sisters, Dallas, Denver, and Charlotte Ann, entered Kitty Devore's foster care in June 2024. She's a bold, outgoing girl with a personality as striking as her tortoiseshell coat. A true diva at heart, she knows what she wants and isn't shy about letting you know—whether it's dinner served on time (she'll give you a few polite but firm meows) or a little extra love and attention. Don't be surprised if she climbs into your lap, nuzzling your hands to remind you she's the star of the show.

Tallahassee doesn't like to be left out! If she catches her human cuddling with other kitties, she'll plop herself right in the middle of it all—even if it means landing right on top of her siblings. She'll then snuggle up as close to her human as possible, purring and nudging for pets to reclaim her spotlight. She loves being the center of attention! MEET HAWK (FORMERLY SAMURAI)

Meet Hawk, the sweetest little guy with a personality as unique as his adorable mohawk! His incredibly soft fur and big heart make him the ultimate cuddle buddy, and he’ll purr up a storm as soon as you pick him up. CONGRATULATIONS, FLEA!

In June 2024, little Flea, along with his momma, Whiskers Winn, and siblings Colette, Guppy, and Wookie, found themselves in dire straights at Devore Animal Shelter at the worst time possible in rescue - the middle of kitten season. During this time of year, when many cats fill the shelter's cat room, illness spreads fast, and it wasn't long before this little family caught the circulating kitty cold, cutting their rescue time short. Thankfully, one of our members, Pattie, volunteered to take them in and get them well, and once recovered, they would travel with our phenomenal transporter, Jane, up north to their long-term foster mom, Niko.

Their rehabilitation began immediately, but little Flea's recovery took months, even after he arrived in Seattle. But this little guy, determined to live a full life, fought his way to health and, in time, was bouncing boundless with his brothers and sister. Little did he know that one day, a young man who adopted a kitty named Sunny earlier in the year would stop by his foster mom's home in search of a baby brother for him - a kitten who looked just like Flea! Who would have thought that the all-black run of the litter would be the first of the family to be adopted? And anyone who ever said black kitties are unlucky never met little Flea because he's one of the luckiest kittens around!

We wish Flea a happy forever after with his new dad and second-time adopter, Jacob, and big orange brother and former KD foster kitty, Sunny!

CONGRATULATIONS, KATHERINE - ADOPTED!

Katherine stood out in her litter as the lone Siamese mix in a sea of cow kitties. Last Sunday, we listed her for adoption. This Sunday, her foster mom, Andrea, delivered her to her new forever home with her new kitty parents, Rafael and Xandrea, who applied to adopt her earlier this week. After meeting her yesterday at her foster mom's home, they knew she was the girl for them. She'll have two teenage human siblings, an 11-year-old tortie sibling named Sassy, and, on Tuesday, will be joined by another kitten her new family plans to adopt from the Rancho Cucamonga shelter. We are absolutely elated for Katherine, and, as you can see, she's already made herself right at home in her new digs.

You might remember baby Katherine and her three siblings as they were all babies when they were admitted with their mom, Momma Maybel (later changed to Momma Emi), while at Devore Animal Shelter in June of this year.

Congratulations, Katherine, and big thanks to her amazing foster mom, Andrea! Without foster parents like Andrea, little girls like Katherine and her mom and brothers would not have opportunities to live the fabulous, pampered lives they were born to live—well-loved and overflowing with happiness!

MEET SQUEEK!

Hi! My name is Squeek, and my sister, Whiskers, and I are foster kitties looking for a forever home to call our very own. Although we would LOVE to be adopted together, it's okay if we're adopted separately. If you have kids who will play with me, let me sprawl across their laps, and don't mind me showering them with oodles of affection because I'm a very loving girl, then you might be the perfect match for me or, hopefully, both of us together.

Back in March 2024, when my sister and I were only six weeks old, someone abandoned us in an apartment complex in San Bernardino. The lady who found us couldn't keep us but didn't want to take us to the shelter, so she contacted Kitty Devore Rescue to see if they had someone to care for us - and they did! They picked us up, and we took a trip to Temecula where, for five months, we were cared for by a lovely lady and her young son. They loved us dearly and even wanted to keep us, but their life took an unfortunate turn and, in the end, couldn't. That's when we came to live with our new foster family in San Diego. We love our new foster family, especially their two young girls, who always make time to play with us.

I am a little smaller than my sister, Whiskers, and while I love doing all the fun things kittens do, I must admit my very favorite thing is to cuddle up next to my humans while they work, watch TV, or read. I love other kitties, but I love people most of all, especially kids who love kitties like me. I haven't met any dogs yet, but since I'm still young, I could probably warm up to a kitty-friendly doggie.
