MEET FONTANA, A WONDERFUL KITTY THROUGH AND THROUGH!

Love, love, love! That's all this kitty wants!

We rescued Fontana and her young litter of kittens from Devore Shelter in November 2024 (Momma Susan, for our followers), when shelter staff estimated her to be approximately 1 year old. Admitted as a stray, we determined she'd already been through a lot in her young life. However, we were struck by her unconditional kindness and willingness to seek out and give affection in return. Still, another two months would elapse before we observed her feeling settled and secure enough to sleep on the cat trees and cushy kitty beds or even play with toys. Now, she's dropped her guard completely and plays freely with her toys, luxuriates in naps, and surveying at the tippy-top of her favorite cat tree.

Fontana loves people. Chin scratches and gentle hugs keep her returning for more from her foster family. Although technically a very young adult, she hasn't lost her kitten exuberance. Zooming through kitty tunnels, batting crunch balls, leaping with glee for the rainbow cat dancer, and back-kicking her all-time favorite, a little plush pickle toy, shows off her athleticism and agility but also demonstrates her trust that it's safe now to drop her guard and let her true spirit shine through. Through it all, she's been an amazingly attentive momma, caring diligently for her kittens and, now that they're older, confirming for them that life can be joyful.

MEET ECLYPSE!

Impossible to ignore, he's full of awe-inspiring energy, much like the solar and lunar celestial events. He and his siblings were born in a warehouse in Anaheim and brought into foster care at just two days old. Their mother, Nova—who also gave birth to KD fosters Wacko & Dot—had eluded the traps for too long. Once rescuers finally caught her, she stayed with her newest babies until they were old enough to be independent. Then, she underwent her spay and vaccinations before returning to her colony.

From the start, Eclypse jostled his way through to get the best nursing spot. Not only was he a momma's boy, but also a greedy little milk hog. He eclipsed his siblings by emerging as the feistiest and fattest of the litter. However, when introduced to wet food, he lagged through the transition. Still, it didn't take him long to catch up, and he's never missed a meal since. Full of mischief and always up for fun, Eclypse loves to jump, roughhouse, and play fetch, although he's not the best at retrieving and returns. His half-brother and best buddy, Wacko, race one another to the apex of the cat trees, but when they're zoomed out, you can find them curled up together for a well-deserved nap.

Eclypse, who currently resides in a foster home with his littermates, Komet and Nebulah, his older half-siblings Wacko and Dot, a small dog, and two human teenagers, would thrive best in a lively, social environment. MEET NEBULAH!

Named after the vast and luminous clouds of dust and gas where stars are born, this little star beamed radiant and bright right from the start. She and her siblings, Komet and Eclypse, were born in a warehouse in Anaheim and brought into foster care at just two days old. Their mother, Nova—who also gave birth to KD fosters Wacko and Dot—had eluded the traps for too long. Although she emerged as the tiniest luminary in the constellation of the litter, Nebulah distinguished herself as the one who most loved and sought human interaction. She's sassy and bold and holds her own in tussles with her brothers before seeking the calm and serenity of older kitties in her foster home for cuddles and grooming. When Nebbie isn't snuggled up with her half-sister, Dot, she can be found curled up with her foster family of humans. She adores older children and, like the little star-princess she is, loves showers of attention and adoration. In her opinion, gentle belly rubs, gossamer kisses, toys with rainbow streamers, and all forms of hunting adventures are heavenly.

MEET DENVER!

This spunky sweetheart was approximately two months old when she and her sisters Tallahassee, Dallas, and Charlotte Ann waited for someone to adopt them from Devore Animal Shelter in June 2024. However, when they got sick and were added to the euthanasia list, Kitty Devore Rescue swooped in and welcomed them all to our foster care program.

If Denver had a motto, it would be "Play hard, nap hard"—and she lives up to it daily. This adventurous girl is always the first to dive into new experiences, whether exploring a cardboard box, scaling the cat tree, or splashing in her water bowl. Denver is fascinated with water; she loves tossing her toys into her bowl and even hangs out in the bathtub after her humans shower.

Denver is all about balance. When she's not zipping around the house playing chase with her siblings, she's snuggling up with her humans during TV time, soaking in all the pets and cuddles she can get. Her bravery and curiosity are matched only by her affectionate nature, making her an excellent companion.

MEET TALLAHASSEE!

This beautiful girl was approximately 2 months old when she and her sisters, Dallas, Denver, and Charlotte Ann, entered Kitty Devore's foster care in June 2024. She's a bold, outgoing girl with a personality as striking as her tortoiseshell coat. A true diva at heart, she knows what she wants and isn't shy about letting you know—whether it's dinner served on time (she'll give you a few polite but firm meows) or a little extra love and attention. Don't be surprised if she climbs into your lap, nuzzling your hands to remind you she's the star of the show.

Tallahassee doesn't like to be left out! If she catches her human cuddling with other kitties, she'll plop herself right in the middle of it all—even if it means landing right on top of her siblings. MEET HAWK (FORMERLY SAMURAI)

Meet Hawk, the sweetest little guy with a personality as unique as his adorable mohawk! His incredibly soft fur and big heart make him the ultimate cuddle buddy, and he’ll purr up a storm as soon as you pick him up. CONGRATULATIONS, FLEA!

In June 2024, little Flea, along with his momma, Whiskers Winn, and siblings Colette, Guppy, and Wookie, found themselves in dire straights at Devore Animal Shelter at the worst time possible in rescue - the middle of kitten season. During this time of year, when many cats fill the shelter's cat room, illness spreads fast, and it wasn't long before this little family caught the circulating kitty cold, cutting their rescue time short. Thankfully, one of our members, Pattie, volunteered to take them in and get them well, and once recovered, they would travel with our phenomenal transporter, Jane, up north to their long-term foster mom, Niko.

Their rehabilitation began immediately, but little Flea's recovery took months, even after he arrived in Seattle. But this little guy, determined to live a full life, fought his way to health and, in time, was bouncing boundless with his brothers and sister. Little did he know that one day, a young man who adopted a kitty named Sunny earlier in the year would stop by his foster mom's home in search of a baby brother for him - a kitten who looked just like Flea! Who would have thought that the all-black run of the litter would be the first of the family to be adopted? And anyone who ever said black kitties are unlucky never met little Flea because he's one of the luckiest kittens around!

We wish Flea a happy forever after with his new dad and second-time adopter, Jacob, and big orange brother and former KD foster kitty, Sunny!

CONGRATULATIONS, KATHERINE - ADOPTED!

Katherine stood out in her litter as the lone Siamese mix in a sea of cow kitties. Last Sunday, we listed her for adoption. This Sunday, her foster mom, Andrea, delivered her to her new forever home with her new kitty parents, Rafael and Xandrea, who applied to adopt her earlier this week. After meeting her yesterday at her foster mom's home, they knew she was the girl for them. She'll have two teenage human siblings, an 11-year-old tortie sibling named Sassy, and, on Tuesday, will be joined by another kitten her new family plans to adopt from the Rancho Cucamonga shelter. We are absolutely elated for Katherine, and, as you can see, she's already made herself right at home in her new digs.

You might remember baby Katherine and her three siblings as they were all babies when they were admitted with their mom, Momma Maybel (later changed to Momma Emi), while at Devore Animal Shelter in June of this year.

Congratulations, Katherine, and big thanks to her amazing foster mom, Andrea! Without foster parents like Andrea, little girls like Katherine and her mom and brothers would not have opportunities to live the fabulous, pampered lives they were born to live—well-loved and overflowing with happiness!

MEET SQUEEK!

Hi! My name is Squeek, and my sister, Whiskers, and I are foster kitties looking for a forever home to call our very own. Although we would LOVE to be adopted together, it's okay if we're adopted separately. If you have kids who will play with me, let me sprawl across their laps, and don't mind me showering them with oodles of affection because I'm a very loving girl, then you might be the perfect match for me or, hopefully, both of us together.

Back in March 2024, when my sister and I were only six weeks old, someone abandoned us in an apartment complex in San Bernardino. The lady who found us couldn't keep us but didn't want to take us to the shelter, so she contacted Kitty Devore Rescue to see if they had someone to care for us - and they did! They picked us up, and we took a trip to Temecula where, for five months, we were cared for by a lovely lady and her young son. They loved us dearly and even wanted to keep us, but their life took an unfortunate turn and, in the end, couldn't. That's when we came to live with our new foster family in San Diego. We love our new foster family, especially their two young girls, who always make time to play with us.

I am a little smaller than my sister, Whiskers, and while I love doing all the fun things kittens do, I must admit my very favorite thing is to cuddle up next to my humans while they work, watch TV, or read. I love other kitties, but I love people most of all, especially kids who love kitties like me. I haven't met any dogs yet, but since I'm still young, I could probably warm up to a kitty-friendly doggie.

MEET LUCIE AND LES!

When Lucie, Les, and their brother Layne were born in April 2024, their momma chose the crawl space of a nearby home for shelter. A neighbor lady made sure mom ate twice a day. When the three kittens weaned, the friendly neighbor lady fed them, too. Eventually, she gained the trust of the little family and brought them all indoors where they'd be safe. She hoped to find the perfect home for each but needed some help. A longtime Kitty Devore Rescue foster mom pointed her in our direction, assuring her that if she continued to foster the family, we'd happily take them into our foster care program and find fantastic homes with people who would love them for the rest of their lives.

Lucie comforts and soothes those around her with her soft purrs and warm presence. Initially a timid kitten, she blossomed into a gregarious, energetic young lady. Les is a gentle giant, ready to offer a paw to those in need and a warm snuggle to anyone feeling down. His kind spirit shines through in everything he does, from comforting his human family members to playing with his favorite toys. His big heart is matched only by his big personality, filling the house with laughter and love. MEET HARLO!

This adorable mini-panther was approximately nine weeks old when he entered Kitty Devore's foster care on July 19, 2024.

Someone brought Harlo to Devore Animal Shelter after being found at a structure fire in Fontana. Luckily, he only suffered singed whiskers and fur. When he arrived at his foster home, Harlo was understandably nervous around people. Even though he was scared, he was a perfect gentleman when given a bath on the first day. Signs quickly appeared, indicating that he was becoming more comfortable - his toys would be moved from their original spots, and tiny black paws started appearing under the door of his room when curious kittens were waiting outside.

It didn't take long for this little guy to transform into a confident and playful kitten who can keep up with his foster siblings, no problemo! He walks around the house with his tail held high and happily accepts human hands reaching out to pet him randomly. He can't resist turning on the motor when picked up and cuddled. Harlo also enjoys phone screens and watching TV - he'll hop up on the back of the couch to drape himself over a shoulder and join the viewing party.

Harlo would love to be adopted with one of his foster siblings from the Math Cat family (Leonhard, Newton, Katherine, or Isac). He is especially fond of his surrogate mom, Emi. His foster home has no dogs, so his feelings about a canine companion have yet to be determined.

MEET LEONHARD!

This spunky guy was approximately six weeks old when he entered Kitty Devore's foster care on June 23, 2024.

Leonhard instantly stood out as the loudest member of his family, singing the song of his people the entire car ride home from the shelter. He was willing to ask questions, voice his concerns, and speak to the management about his demands (mainly for canned food). Anyone who visits his foster home immediately asks about this little kitty with a big personality - even the veterinarian remembers him. His fearless approach to life is most evident in his tussles with the robot vacuum. Only the bravest of cats is willing to face such a foe.

But Leonhard also has a soft side that shows when he asks to be picked up and cuddled, falls asleep draped over a shoulder on the back of the couch, or snuggles up with one of his siblings. At the heart of his talkative nature is a desire to be acknowledged and loved.

Leonhard has a bow-legged walk and an oddly shaped body, and the vet thinks he might breathe loudly from time to time because of his crooked nose, but these things can't keep a big boss kitty down. He has friends to make, toys to play with, laps to sleep on, and a whole world to explore. Because of his active spirit, Leonhard needs to be in a home with another active kitty that can keep him entertained. He would love to be adopted with another member of the Math Cat family (Emi, Isac, Newton, Katherine, or honorary member Harlo). Shy kitties may not appreciate Leonhard's aggressive approach. MEET KATHERINE!

This beautiful little lady was approximately six weeks old when she entered Kitty Devore's foster care on June 23, 2024.

Katherine stands out in her litter as the lone Siamese mix in a sea of cow kitties. But she isn't just a pretty face; she's also a smarty pants. MEET NEWTON!

This handsome boy was approximately six weeks old when he entered Kitty Devore's foster care on June 23, 2024.

Newton is a sweetheart who is willing to let the more attention-seeking kitties have the limelight. Even as a baby, he was a slow, calm eater who needed to be separated from his hungry hippo siblings at meal time. He's a sensitive kitten who learns quickly what not to do because he doesn't like to be reprimanded. Most kittens barely take notice of a human request, but Newton has an internal desire to be the best student in the class. He's also a playful little guy who can find joy in any toy. Even though he might not play as rough as some of the other kittens, he definitely naps hard. Newton is notorious for slowly migrating toward the edge of his sleeping spot, waking up to find himself slipping down a level.
